Generally speaking, I treat all fantasia'ed characters as new characters. If they insist they they were someone Nailah used to know, then I would try to find a solution - but I am very reluctant to accept the use of the fantasia vial as-is icly. Especially if the relation wasn't ever too extensive. Usually I find that people are good at respecting your boundaries when they rp with you. But overall I don't expect this to become a major problem, most people I RP with everyday are of much the same opinion as myself. There is one person (a very good friend of mine) where I am accepting the change, but this is also being rp'ed out in a fashion where my character is going to be one of the few that will ever know, and I find that the reasoning (which does not involve fantasia ic) is alright. My main problem with the fantasia is not that it changes people, but that it isn't regarded as canon and as such isn't well represented in the rest of the game's lore, leading to a lot of unanswered questions and territory where I as a roleplayer feel uncomfortable - by accepting this one case I don't want to open a floodgate in my roleplay where it becomes really common, either. I am also rather fortunate that a lot of the people who are re-rolling Au Ra are keeping their old characters as alts - so there is no mass death, or situation where my character would question why half of everyone she knows just disappeared overnight.

If you see me about next week, feel free to send me a /tell. Nailah will also be in the regions, wandering about, so they might be able to bump into one another

We'll be more than happy to see an application from you anytime Even if you can not play much, we have a well functioning forum where we can assist you with lore, and it'll definitely benefit you to level up whilst in an FC. We get people in IC in the pace they feel is best, and until then they're OOC with us. I feel I should note that Balmung is a bit hard to get into, you'll want to tamper with the character creator in the EU afternoon if you can - that is when Balmung is most likely to open up. Paying for a transfer will bypass this, but obviously that's a bit demanding of ones financial situation. Cheers!

This, a million times. I do not see why joining a linkshell with like-minded people for the peaceful purpose of making friends/connections, should be made into something that is going to affect the community around us. People might be able to do a lot, that's true - but a small gathering of people in a game.. I'd wager we're not going to cause great harm.

Whilst I don't doubt that it would be fun, it's not something I'd do. There's definitely enough lore out there to support an attempt, but I would get weary from having to explain everyone that they're not seeing whatever they think they're seeing (and the possible ooc discussions that'd follow). If we had something like MRP/Merisioux/FlagRSP as an addon it'd be easier to pull off. At least for what in-game RP goes.

I segregate gameplay from roleplay by far most of the time. The only reason why I level classes related to my characters skills, is because usually those classes have gear that I would like my character to wear and look pretty in. I do not mind if someone is level 15 or 60, if they're a fresh character or a two year old character. What I do mind is if someone hasn't bothered to give good reason as to why the character is strong, or how they became strong. If they're more powerful than people older of their age who have studied whatever they're practicing for longer, I'd expect there to be a reason as to why they have attained more strength. It shouldn't just be because it sounds cool and there's an OOC motivation to be stronger than everyone else, so you can win fights. There has to be ample reason and justification.. There's no way I could take it seriously if someone tomorrow just became a powerful astrologian from one day to the next, because they hit 60 astrologian, to give an example. I'm also a fan of progressing characters over time as you play them, so you may stark out weakish, and then get a stronger character during the course of whatever events they might partake in. It was one of the first things I was taught about roleplay back in the day, that level did not matter. I'm also quite a slow leveller, I like to take my time - in another game it took me 6 months to reach the level cap because I was roleplaying so much. I'd be in a terrible position if people hadn't taken me seriously just because you are slow.. And if anything needs to be rated, the time a player spends roleplaying should surely be more important than time spent on their pve level.

Just about all RP communities I've ever been in have been filled with a certain degree of these issues. I frequently hear rumors about myself, and try to shrug them off. Sometimes I get angry and upset/sad, mostly if I find out that it's caused other people not to approach me - but at the end of the day, if they would rather take a rumor as truth then.. Well. People don't understand that gossip reaches around and hurts people behind the screen, causes their day to go awry, and in some cases drives them away from playing the game. There aren't very many people who experience these things that ever deserved it, if it is even something you can ever deserve. I do agree that drama shouldn't ever be spread. It's bad enough as it is, you do not need to involve twenty more people - it won't aid. Most roleplayers I know hate getting involved with OOC drama. It sucks the fun out of everything. Especially since most drama is just down to communication errors anyways, someone misunderstanding an intended joke or reading a word in a different meaning. Some of the worst drama's I have ever seen all were resolved when things got explained properly.

I have heard in the past that beyond being the unofficial rp server, balmung was also selected as the unofficial LGBT server.. But from which community that came I do not know. There has been, might still be, LGBT linkshells - I was in a non-rp one, but eventually left it because it filled up with too much drama. So chiming in with saying you might find many likeminded people, and you definitely do not have to post a craigslist add - ICly all of my characters know a host of non-straight people, and I've never met any of them out of OOC desire to find them specifically. They just popped up on their own ^^

Happy heavensward everyone! We have gotten into the expansion quite well. Because of the expansion, we are currently in a grace period for roleplay where no events are actively planned or carried out, as we all level up & collect lore. We are still accepting members, however roleplay is on a low until people catch up with the new stuff. We will end the grace period when we judge it the right time, but no sooner than Balmung having proper server stability again - planning events when the entire thing can go down into a 90K error lasting 2 hrs is no good. We have expanded our house to include the new workshop, and we are half way through to getting our first airship! We will eventually also have a justification in place for having the airship ICly, lore be willing. Our latest headcount shows that we have 30 active roleplayers (meaning the player has logged in at least once in the past 7 days), and on top of that we have 3 socials. We always have room for more, so if you're interested, toss in an application

This is a good idea. I am keeping a lore-tracking thread on my FC's forum. I have taken SO many screenshots of dialogue - which I keep on doing - which I then piece together in spoiler tags for later reference.

Welcome! Feel free to check out/check in at the European Directory. You may be able to find some like minded contacts through that. If you want an invitation to the Europa LS, toss me a /tell

Run to ishgard, obtain quests and lore. Figure out where everything is.

KinRP has several rooms for rent IC in Goblet Ward 4, plot 11. We are EU timebased, so you may not see so many of us around when you are yourself. We can work something out if you toss me a tell or prod my character IC.

Link Rest in peace Sir Christopher Lee. You were the best. I greatly enjoyed both his acting and his music

My last day of playing ARR is on monday then. I am going on a 3 day vacation to copenhagen and I will be returning in the middle of the maintenance. Hopefully I will be so tired from traveling that I can just go to bed and sleep until the servers go up. Unfortunately that means I have even less time to finish capping my GC seals ; ;

Yes. Nailah was successfully kidnapped and held for 3-4 days (I don't remember the specific amount of days, but it was more than two). She saw two people in need of aid on the side of the road after highbridge and on that specific evening she did not think it might be a trick. They overmanned her and knocked her out, and proceeded to drag her to an abandoned mine. She underwent a lot of beating and pain until she eventually managed to convince/manipulate the main culprit that she had submitted to his will and was going to help him out etc, upon where he let her loose to do something for him, of course with her promising her return. She then was picked up by her employees and proceeded not to come back. The culprit was later tracked down and killed in a seperate event. The kidnapping itself was somewhat spontaneous, it was brought on by a plot not of my own, and the target did not specifically have to be Nailah, but just someone from the Kindred. I was asked oocly first if I wanted to do it ofc, and the culprit was played by a player I'd known for a long time. I would do it again, with any of my alts. Nailah's paranoia started after the incident, and there's now a whole lot of things she wont fall for, and generally speaking it has changed a good chunk of her personality. I think it's exciting roleplay when it ties in really well with plots and story archs. I wouldn't do it if it did not make any sense in those relations.

Nudging this up. The VIP deals are still on, normal edition is 22 pounds, down from 30. I purchased mine yesterday, and the key validated just fine. I received a 20 digit key, which means I went straight to the mog station to redeem it. Very easy. Not compatible with Steam.
