So. . . you know that thing I do occasionally? Round 3?
Val replied to Askier's topic in RP Discussion
I actually have an alt of mine that is involved in some cultish-type activity. He generally enjoys anything involving ancient.. well. Anythings. If you're interested or need more, hit me up and we'll talk it over sometime -
Your character is granted three wishes, but the third wish...
Val replied to Nero's topic in Fun Prompts
Cyrus wouldn't take them at all. He'd certainly entertain the idea and want to do what he could to help people, and he would know that Unmei would likely offer to sacrifice herself for the good of many, as would he. ..But ultimately, he'd never let anything happen to her. He'd just promise to try his very best to help the world with his own two hands. Melfice would.. well. He'd likely not take them, but instead spend several hours, weeks, months, whatever studying whatever device is granting them and try to find a loophole or see if there's a way to take that power from it--for scholarly purposes, of course! Assuming he would, it's rather hard to say what he'd use them on. He'd likely try to mess with people or something, but he's such a stickler for the optimum that he'd wait /forever/ to make sure that it was the best time for them to be used. In all likelihood, they'd never get used anyway and he'd throw the paper in his collection for studying purposes. Also, he's rather fond of his current companion and wouldn't wish to cause her any harm. -

Couples~ And some other random crap I came across. The last one is a sure winner, though. Sorry everyone.

Val replied to Nero's topic in Fun Prompts
Val's.. .. well. Val's wishes would be incredibly easy. He'd want an unlimited amount of wealth and the ability to sleep with any woman he wanted--assuming he didn't already have Faye. If he was currently with Faye, then he'd never take them for mostly the same reasons as listed above by her. While the two characters are vastly different in nature and mannerisms, they are both very much the same when you get down to it. She was, and has been, the only individual that didn't turn him away or seek to use him or gain any benefits from him. She didn't try to take advantage of his ignorance, constantly does everything she can to make him a better person, and failing that she'd be perfectly fine with keeping him how he is. What's more, she asks for nothing in return aside from his faithfulness--and he happily delivers. Val once told someone that if Faye asked him to drown everyone in the world in the ocean, he'd find a way to do it. He'd spend the rest of his life trying to find a way to do it. He would far rather she be happy than himself, especially if the consequence is that he'd no longer have her. -
I say the situation varies. A sniper/archer is going to kill a mage before he can get a spell off, while mages can (most of the time) overpower melee fighters unless they are really good at dodging or they have sufficient environmental coverage to duck and cover from the incoming spells and warriors and melee types tend to fight well against each other and non-magic ranged combatants. Just my two sense. Pretty much this. No one style is ever going to be better than another. Tactics come into effect, as well as the character's power. One fireball isn't going to be as powerful as another and, honestly, if someone shoots a fireball or something that they claim can topple buildings, I'll gladly excuse myself from the RP. The ONLY exception I have on that is if the person is meant to be the main RP antagonist for that particular story. While my own villain is meant to be a tad more powerful than normal, he has distinct weaknesses that allow anyone to defeat him should they manage to learn and exploit them. Magic can be a very OP thing and a near infinite number of possibilities are open to those that RP casters, but it doesn't HAVE to be. A caster could simply not be good, in the process of learning, have a chance for spells to backfire and affect themselves or everyone on the field, etc.

Val was never sure how much time had passed since his foray into Nunhship. Such things weren't important to his tribe. They were well aware that everything had a beginning and an end. It was something they knew to be inevitable, so there was little reason to count days or worry about other such nonsense. Val gained his relatively relaxed and carefree disposition from these teachings—or the lack thereof—and thus didn’t seem to worry about others constantly complaining to Tende about how he’d begun to treat the rest of the tribe. Being a Nunh had rather quickly gone to his head. He loved the attention, he loved the power, and most of all he loved the unbridled pleasure of it all. While Tende and Kiza saw bedding the tribe’s females as their duty to the tribe itself and an honorable ritual, Val’s outlook on the idea soon became something far more selfish. Despite being considered the weakest Nunh of the three, he acted as if he were the strongest. Several Miqo’te, men and women alike, began to disappear from the tribe. There were no signs of a struggle and no tracks to follow; they simply vanished, leaving behind only what they couldn’t take with them. Val didn’t care. While the rest of his brethren bothered themselves with the well-being of their tribe, Val was focused on an entirely different matter. There was one Seeker woman that he’d had eyes on for some time now, and not because she was particularly more beautiful than the rest. While her features lent an exotic tone to her body, the rest of her was rather plain and ordinary. She had curves, but none of them overly exaggerated. Val noted that plenty of other women had larger breasts, shapelier hips, or prettier smiles. However Simah, as she was known, was unique: she had been the only one in their tribe born with completely white hair. Her eyes were a bright pink and her skin was pale. Some took it as an ill omen, while others considered her to be blessed by the gods. As she grew, many of the tribe alienated her despite Tende’s wishes to accept her as one of their own. She soon found a friend in Val, whom had been there to comfort her since they were both children. Sure, he could be mean to her, but she found it almost endearing in a brotherly sort of way. After a failed attempt on her life by one particularly superstitious member, Val even took the time to teach her a few things about defending herself. He was her savior, her proverbial knight in shining armor, and would always be there for her. What she didn’t know is that Val, the selfish prick that he was, kept her close so that he could claim her when she inevitably became a woman. She was one of a kind to their tribe, and he’d make sure he was the first to have her. In fact, that was precisely why he was now tracking down his father. “I know that he’s your son, but he is destroying this tribe,” Val heard Kiza speak as he drew near the two. “You need to be rid of him before he completely destroys us.” Like many times before, Val had hidden himself behind one of the trees that populated the Shroud. He was never one to keep himself hidden for long, however, and thus stepped into view in order make his presence known. As per usual, Kiza was without a shirt. He and Val were similar and that they both had plenty of scars from their hunts, though Kiza was more than proud to show them off. The Seeker was fit and lean, with a narrow face that sported short, dark red hair. He often kept spiked using the sap of trees. He somehow felt that it was more defining and allowed him to stand out among the rest of his kin, while Val thought it made him look like an idiot. “I’ll have a talk with the boy,” Tende assured after a moment of silence. “And one other thing,” Kiza added upon noticing Val's approach, “Simah has come of age. I know that you have your hands full with the tribe, so I’d like to take her as my mate.” “So you wish to see if she’ll truly sire one of the Voidsent?” Tende questioned with a hint of mirth, “You’re welcome to her. I’ve no reason to protest.” “But I do,” Val finally spoke aloud, disappointment clear in his voice. “Simah is mine. You already have plenty of mates for yourself, Kiza.” “And still not near as many as you’ve caused to abandon us, boy.” Tende responded with an air of finality. Kiza only turned to offer Val a coy grin, while Val was left to stare back in anger. Val took a rebellious step forward, forcing Kiza to go into a defensive stance while Tende remain unmoved. “But I’m a Nunh!” he called back to them, “And your son! Why’re you taking his side?” "Because you’ve yet to prove yourself worthy of being either. You have the strength and determination, but you lack the discipline. You treat your tribesmen like common fodder instead of your people. You are a destructive, vain, and selfish child. You want women? You want glory? First prove to your people that you deserve any of it, and then the day will come that you win their respect and your desires are granted. But that will not be this day." A long silence fell over the three, and only then did Tende take his time to address Kiza. “You can take her after your hunt. We are low on provisions, so that must take priority.” “Would you like to join me?” Kiza questioned. Unlike Val, he knew better than to openly gloat about his success, especially in front of Tende. “It would be like old times.” “Yes. It has been some time since I’ve gone on a hunt, and recent events have given me a hunger for blood. Boy,” he spoke to Val with bass in his voice, “If I return and you’ve done anything to cause harm to this tribe or its people, you will be punished. Is that understood?” Val left in a huff. He knew that he had little room to argue with his father’s rules, especially if he wanted to keep his life or station. The more he thought about it, however, the more sure he became that Kiza didn’t even want Simah for himself. He’d likely seen the two together and decided that he would take her from him out of spite. Yes, that had to be it. Unfortunately there was little that Val could do to impede his father’s wishes. Unless.. Unless he managed to convince Simah to lay with him before Kiza got the chance to bring her the news. After all, the hunt could take the rest of the evening and Val was certain that it would give him more than enough time. And why not? He’d managed to do it with plenty of Kiza’s other mates.

( C'kayah, yours was wonderful ;-; sadly I've never seen C'kayah IC, so.. .. I just kind of did what I could based on some research. I hope I didn't ruin him! *hides* ) C'kayah leaned back in his chair in the Quicksand, the right half of his lips curled into a smirk that showed off just the tip of his fang. His ears lifted slightly and he gave a small sniff, tossing his head aside in order to rid himself of the few tendrils of brown hair that impeded his visage. "So, I brought the goods," he spoke to the midlander settled out across from him. C'kayah paused only to lift the glass of red wine to his lips and take a long, generous sip of its contents, "You got the money?" Between the two sat a small package, looking very little like anything extraordinary. It was wrapped in brown shipping paper that the moogles were fond of using and held in place by a thin piece of rope. The package itself wasn't large by any means; one would easily be able to wrap their hand around its rectangular shape to get a good grip. The hyur did just that, stowing it away within the oversized sleeve of the shirt he wore and removing a small pouch in its stead. C'kayah reached across to grab the pouch, not daring to open it. He'd been in the business by now to know what the appropriate weight of a good bag of gil was. "Pleasure doing business with you," he added, lifting the glass skyward in a silent toast to his business partner. With little to say, the merchant--or what C'kayah could assume had been a merchant--stood from the table and took his leave. The Miqo'te watched him leave out the side door and into the Steps of Thal. He assumed the man had other business in Pearl Lane or other such dubious areas of Ul'dah. He leaned back in the chair now, relaxing himself and perking his ears high to better listen in on the many conversations going on around him. It took a bit of practice and personal honing to be able to drown out all the background noise, but he did manage to pick up on a few of them. What he didn't need training for, however, was the undeniable sound of flesh coming in harsh contact with flesh that rang out the Quicksand. So abrupt and deafening was the sound that it brought all other noise to a silence. C'kayah lifted his head just in time to witness an ivory-haired midlander abruptly taking her leave from the tavern. Pity, he never managed to get a good look at her face. "Princess! C'mon! She looks just like ya! That wouldn't even be considered cheatin' 'r nothin'! I'll be thinkin' 'bout ya th'whole time!" a voice called out after her. C'kayah turned his attention to a blonde-haired Miqo'te, now complete with a hint of red washing over the left side of his face. Her lover, no doubt. He watched as the Seeker chased out the door after her and soon found a particular blonde waitress meandering by. He offered a playful wink of his right eye as she drew near and lifted the glass to motion for a refill. She giggled and accepted the glass, then turned to retrieve the order with a particularly flirtatious sway of her hips that he was sure to notice. He did, and that fang from earlier soon showed itself again.

That sounds wonderful! I'm looking forward to it =) -
I could see Princess Zelda! Faye only rarely gets captured by evil-doers. And Val's a cheater, Faye was actually inspired in part by Daisy! Also going to second Val in that every time I see Berrod I think of Rider! Cheater? Pfft. I've pointed out that characters remind me of Faye often!
-
Aya's secretly a succubus!? Omw.
-
I would never wish to fight you, Warren ;-; I love you.
-
Faye is very Zelda-like. And nah, she's rarely ever captured. She can actually hold her own if Val'll ever let her do it but he prefers to take the hits rather than let his "Princess" get harmed. ..There /is/ a reason he calls her Princess, after all. She's also very Daisy-like! And also, every time I've seen Berrod I think of this guy!

Val Nuhn (I'm so sorry, I can't help it >.> ...Oh. Oh god.

Hrm... this is amazing! I'll have to look into it some and post what I think of you all! I'll be gentle. I promise.

My character Melfice is an academic scholar studying aetherial energy, and I'd be glad to introduce the two! He is, however, an alt so I'm not necessarily on him all the time. My main, Val, was once a mercenary that now heads the Martial branch of the Harbingers of Dawn. We could say they know one another through a previous contract, or she could come to him in order to hire out some of his people for protection! I feel it should be said that Melfice is also not necessarily a good-aligned character. He has alternative motives and whatnot and would likely sense the dark aether within her if you want to go that route as well! -
I'd love to join in! And I am afraid.
-
Pfft. And he'd be more than happy to meet with Jancis again sometime <3
-
Shameless bump. I've also got a story on the forum that I've been working on pertaining to Val's past, should anyone wish to look further into the character.

I feel the same way. My character needs to have legitimate risks. If someone wants to kill him, and manages to kill him, he's gone. It's more fun that way for me and it gives more opportunities for both my character and those around him, as well as a bit of suspense knowing that I'd be more than happy to let him die should he succumb to his wounds.
