  1. I've got Ophelie, a minor noble, heretic and general troublemaker. She's back in Ishgard with her husband, to attempt to clear her name, seek revenge, and watch as recent events unfold. You can read over her wiki, though I kinda need to update it.
  2. This is right up Ophelie's alley, I'll be sure to ask for an invite next time I'm in game.
  3. Ophelie is looking for someone to give her the paperwork/sponsorship she needs to enter Ishgard, but she's kind of a heretic. So she has to go under an assumed name.
  4. Server: Balmung Noble House Name: Clemenceau Pledging/Related/Serving to High House: Durendaire Description: House Clemenceau is a minor house known for producing many loyal knights and proper ladies. They have been sworn to House Durendaire since the early days of Ishgard. They are known for their piety, loyalty and honor. Included Races: Wildwood Elezen. Existing Members: Lord Roustebant Clemenceau- (NPC Retired Knight and Patriarch or the house.) Lady Leuvianne Clemenceau -(NPC Wife of Roustebant) Ophelie Clemenceau (PC- Youngest daughter, currently disowned) Lady Celestine (NPC, Eldest Daughter) Lady Lisellaie (NPC, Middle Daughter) Three unnamed brothers. (NPCs, Knights) Footnotes: Anyone who wishes to play a member of this house is free to, if they send me a message first either here or in-game so we can sort out the details.
  5. Ophelie is currently an exile, but she's always looking for friends. She's minor noble who was involved with a heretic, she didn't lose her title but she's disowned by her family. She does try to her connection to the heretics, by either lying about it, twisting the truth, or avoiding the subject all together. Her family and the house they serve under tried to hide the incident, so the house's reputation isn't sullied. Right now she's currently a courtesan and wants to go back to city for personal reasons.
  6. Ophelie is a courtesan and she's very open about it. So if you're interested you can find her in-game.
  7. I know OOC, no one would probably believe her unless she pulls some magic while trying to manipulate people and telling her side of the story. IC, she doesn't see it that way at all, and she'll try because she's thoroughly convinced she can pull it off. She sees herself as a victim, and her thinking is very self centered.
  8. Ophelie's a non-combatant and from Ishgard, though whether or no she's actually in Ishgard for Heavensward will have to wait. I'm pretty sure there's a few people out there who play Astrologians, minor nobles, clergy and such.
  9. It seems to me that we have vastly different styles of role play, and this forum is not the place to be policing other people's style of role play or their interpretation of the lore. If you don't like how I, or anyone else for that matter, personally role plays you are not in any way obliged to role play with me/them or look at my/their threads. I respectfully ask you to leave, unless you have something to say that is actually relevant to my original post. Thank you. Edit: I also never mentioned that said plot to enter Ishgard had to be successful or was even going to be easy. I just wanted to do this part of the plot first, then I'll go on role play and deal with the IC consequences later.
  10. And that is where the fun of role playing comes from. By not knowing we get to fill in the gaps and be creative and do a just a teeny bit of speculating and world building.
  11. I'm quite aware of the lore behind Ishgard, but the thing is Ophelie doesn't care at all. She's a manipulative, femme fatale, who only cares cares about herself, and she will play whatever part she has to to get what she wants. She would pretend to repent for her sins, or manipulate/seduce someone into being her sponsor, if it means being able to go back to her life. She uses people as tools to get what she wants, and she's willing to to play the part of tragic victim who has been mislead and now she sees the error of her ways and seeks forgiveness. I've already done scenes where she's lead people to believe she's the victim of a tragic misunderstanding. Ophelie's crime is that she was the longtime mistress of noble, who was accused and found guilty of heresy and she interrupted his trial. Thus she was branded as a sympathizer and sent to the workhouses where the family members of heretics are sent. She later escapes which puts her into more trouble than she actually was in originally.
  12. Hello! Sorry for the bad title. Ophelie is an exile from Ishgard for quite some time now, but she wants to go back to her homeland and reclaim the comfortable life she once lived. She's extremely desperate to go back to her old life. But there's just one problem, she's technically kind of considered to be a heretic and can't show her face without being sent back to the workcamps. So I'm looking for someone to help her get in, either clear her record or help her repent for her wrongdoings. So there's two scenarios that are IC. First one is that she gets your character to clear her name and strike it all from the records. Either she could manipulate/seduce your character into doing this, or she begs it as a favor and will do anything in return, or out of the goodness of their heart. Your character doesn't have to do it themselves they could have connections or something. I don't mind if dark/mature themes develop, because it's inevitable. Second one is that she repents and begs for forgiveness/pardon. Ophelie doesn't mean any of it, but she's a good actor and if it means she'll be back home she'll do it without second thoughts. If you're interested, just contact me here or in-game.
  13. Ophelie hasn't been kidnapped yet, unless you count being abducted and returned to prison as being kidnapped. The other player pretended to be a client, she was drugged and returned to the proper authorities. When she came to and realized what was happening, she spent the whole time kicking, screaming and saying borderline heretical things. She eventually got out by manipulation and wits. But other than that I've never done a full one kidnapping plot. Maybe one day in the future.
  14. According to Tales from the Calamity, Alphinaud and Alisaie were 11 during the calamity, so that makes them about 16/17.
  15. Ophelie is a musician and dancer, and I imagine her playing renaissance/baroque music. She plays the harpsichord and clavichord, and both of them are instruments that are really tricky to describe because they're not exactly common. Though you actually do hear harpsichords in the game's sound tracks, specifically the music for Coerthas and in the new tracks for Ishgard. Most compositions that she would play are really complex, and I'm not even sure where to begin to describe it. I personally just keep it simple. For example: [video=youtube] [video=youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2THc4ClNr1Y She also sings, but I'm no good with lyrics so I just avoid it.
  16. I guess I get around it by NOT RPing those types of characters. I make my characters flexible so they can be in a variety of areas. ^ This. Ophelie does what she wants and goes where when she wants. She's a courtesan and goes where the gil takes her, though she does wish to return to Ishgard.
  17. OOC: "Will you ERP with me?" Just because she's a courtesan that doesn't mean I ERP, and no I'm not obliged to do so. IC: "How much for the night?" - If you have to ask upfront then you probably can't afford her services. "Are you free this evening?" Probably not, she's extremely selective about her clients and it takes her more than a day to decide if wants to you to be a client or not. "What's a lady like you doing here?" She goes where she pleases. "You wouldn't understand/care." Just because she's not some sort of scholar doesn't mean she's totally ignorant.
  18. I'm Puerto Rican (i.e. mixed race,) so T'khai is pretty close to my skintone in the summer, though I'm definitely a lot more olive and if I'm careless about sunscreen I can get really dark. Ophelie on the other hand is extremely pale.
  19. There's a chance that Ophelie, being a courtesan in Ul'dah and all, might catch wind of the rumors and such. Foreign politics is something she would rather not be involved in, so if anything seems even the slightest bit off in Ul'dah she probably would just pack her bags and be prepared to flee the moment something goes wrong. This is of course assuming she hears rumors and whatnot.
  20. I used to be one of the people that handed out invites in the old Linkshell. I'm more than willing to help with the new linkshell. Just send an invite or tell to Ophelie Clemenceau.
  21. Tempera is also feasible, because it's egg yolks or any other binder, pigment and additives. It also has the advantage of drying quicker than oils, and not needing solvents for cleanup. Most common pigments in art are inorganic minerals ground up, though organic and biological pigments were also used. There's also watercolors, which have been in use since medieval times in illuminated manuscripts.
  22. T'khai is from the same tribe, so they might of known each other or be related or something like that. I put his character on the backburner for a bit, to focus on Ophelie, but if you're interested he's free for rp.
  23. Green Rot is mentioned in one of the post moogle quests, and all that was said about it is that it causes intense stomach pains.
  24. Ophelie is an Ishgardian exile from a minor noble house. She's currently an entertainer/courtesan, but is still willing to help anyone from Ishgard and she could go on for ages about how problematic it's policies and politics are.
  25. I first started rping through Gaia, I joined a lot of Inuyasha and Zelda role plays. I got to the point where I took pride in several hundred word posts and super elaborately decorated posts. Most roleplays there moved at a glaciers pace because of this. I don't think I ever actually completed a story arc. I later moved to the livejournal roleplay community, and I migrated with them when they moved to dreamwidth. I found them to be to really petty and dramatic for my taste, lots of gossip cliques, and anon bashing. LJ/DW rp works usually works like this, the admin made a setting or borrows one and then players would take canon characters and stick them in there. I found this style was really stifling to my creativity, because most roleplays were not OC friendly. It just lead to a lot of "you play 'x' wrong" and "you never play with me and prefer to play with your character's canon partner, so you're terrible." It was fun at times but also got stressful. Then I took up LARPing, it was a breath of fresh air, literally and figuratively. The game I attend gives us a lot of room to explore, but still has enough lore that we're not lost. And here I am.
