I am opening up commissions! I will draw things for you! Full commission data in this handy google document with all rules, detailed pricing, and information on what I can and cannot draw (and soon a list of confirmed commissions). I ask for half up front, but full up front will put you at the front of the line like a fastpass at a theme park. Please don't flake on me. All commissions are done traditionally. Pencils, pens, and colored pencils. What I will draw Humanoid characters Chocobos familiars and smaller creatures (magical girl familiars, mammets, carbuncles, etc) Some larger creatures (paissa, some voidsent, etc) tasteful NSFW Violence within limitations What I will not/cannot draw horses, dogs, similar creatures. Cannot draw snooters. Anything too explicit (up to my discretion) Inflated body parts (I will not draw your character with titties the size of a spare tire) Anthros with animal faces. Falls into the cannot draw snooters problem babies. They end up looking like gremlins Check out my recent sketches, doodles, and comics on Val's tumblr of scribbles I also have a commissions tumblr post if y'all could spread that around and help a dusky artist out Art trades are currently closed but I will open them in the future! I am hoping to commission my way to FanFest (flights to vegas in october are impossible on a budget!), and if I do, I will dress up as my dusky, Valentinoix in the aery monk set! Gray skin included. Val is poor. Help Val get to Fanfest! Any questions, just ask! This is my first time doing drawing commissions, so hopefully everything is mother crystal clear.

I've got an old man, Jeantremont Arbeau, who returns to the Fane every few years to brush up on conjury. He is an alchemist but he upkeeps his conjury for emergencies. He doesn't return too often as he has a great distaste for how the Twelveswood treats duskies. But if you would like a grampa elf, I'm all up for it.

Balmung :: RP Connections wanted!
plumsamurai replied to Izayoi Okeya's topic in Chronicled Connections
I've got a veteran Bloodsands fighter, Valentinoix Thibault (goes by the gladiator name, the Blind Valentine). He's rather ruthless in the ring, though outside it, he's pretty mellow. Connections with Val sometimes come with other bloodsands fighters (he knows quite a few). I'm PST so times might be a little awkward for rp, but that's what weekends are for. -
How are Duskwight treated in other city-states? I'm curious!

balmung Ex Sellsword Looking For Connections
plumsamurai replied to Madda's topic in Chronicled Connections
I have a dusky gladiator who could use some fun connections! Valentinoix goes by the name of the Blind Valentine when he competes in the Bloodsands and is probably the only duskwight competitor in the sands. He fights blindfolded (thus the name) and fiercely, though outside the ring, he's relatively mellow and friendly. He has a tendency to come with other gladiator friends too. -
balmung Accidental vigilante makes lots of bad decisions
plumsamurai replied to Marcy's topic in Chronicled Connections
Jean is 85, though that is probably younger for a giraffe than a human. He's might fuss at Marcy for being an idiot and getting hurt again, patch him up, then send him on his way. I'd be happy to give Jean an idiot patient, test his patience, and have him beg Halone for mercy every time Marcy walked through the door. Val is probably the more mellow of the two. He wouldn't mind Marcy talking his ear off as long as he wasn't shouting. Dusky has sensitive ears. I'm up for either or both. -

What a walking disaster. I have two Ul'dahn giraffes who might make fun contacts. Jeantremont owns a medicinal alchemy business and sometimes hires people to retrieve things for alchemical potions and remedies. He's old, practically everyone's giraffe grampa, noncombative, with a badass bounty-hunter wife. He is chaotic good and probably has his hands in the shadier side of Ul'dah. He means well though. Valentinoix wouldn't really hire anyone but might be interesting to chat with. A Shakespearean-talking dusky who competes in the Bloodsands, is a monk-in-training, and has a thing for catching and cooking fish. He is pretty much true neutral though he sometimes errs on the side of good. I am also on evenings pst, usually on either giraffe. -
balmung In Pursuit of Dhalmels!
plumsamurai replied to EternalKindred's topic in Chronicled Connections
Usually 630pm to midnight on weekdays. Weekends, most of the day (I raid on Sundays and Fridays). I am usually on either giraffe. If you can't seem to catch me online, PM me and we'll chat more. -

I have two giraffes that live in/near Ul'dah. Jeantremont is an old alchemist who has practiced alchemy in Ul'dah for nearly 60 years. He lives in the city with his badass bounty-hunter wife. Valentinoix is a younger dusky who competes in the Bloodsands but generally putters about the city on a frequent basis even though he lives outside it. I'm always up for making new connections! I'm on in the evenings, PST time. -
Physical differences between Duskwight and Wildwood
plumsamurai replied to Ashe's topic in RP Discussion
Not at all physical I've noticed this in the name generator and in the lore blurb about names Though I honestly doubt most elezen are really aware of which surname belongs to which clan unless they're on some hell-bent path to destroy the other clan or something. -
balmung Monks, I need your help.
plumsamurai replied to CrimsonMars's topic in Chronicled Connections
I can offer up Valentinoix! He's a trainee under Berrod, only one Chakra open, but he's always looking to chat/spar. He's spiritual and kinda zen (and obsessed with balance) most of the time but a beast in battle. I'm in the monk ls so you can easily track me down. -
balmung Booksmart Duskwight Seeks connections
plumsamurai replied to Taedrinnar's topic in Chronicled Connections
I have a dusky! He's by no means book smart, mostly blind, veteran fighter, and speaks like a Shakespearean play. I need more dusky friends! Hit me up. Valentinoix Thibault. I'll be on him late pst as today (though I may be raiding today) -
balmung Looking for RP and Connections
plumsamurai replied to Khunbish Avagnar's topic in Chronicled Connections
My char, Valentinoix, is a veteran gladiator known as the Blind Valentine (he fights blindfolded and is actually mostly blind anyway). I'd be happy to make more gladiator friends! Hit me up. Valentinoix Thibault. -
balmung Studying Physician looking for connections

Hit me up on Jeantremont Arbeau. He's an established medicinal alchemist in Ul'dah (for nearly 60 years). -
balmung Old couple looking for old (and young) friends
plumsamurai replied to plumsamurai's topic in Chronicled Connections
I'm so excited to meet all y'all. I will try to track you all down in the next few days. Thursday is raid day, so you might get a message from that strange Valentinoix fellow (Val is my main raid character). Otherwise I might try to snag you all in the wee hours of the pst night. -

Psh they'll live to 120 easily. Heck yeah! He does actually dabble with spell inks and such on occasion as well as make medicine so they definitely would have something to chat about -
Jeantremont and Victoire Arbeau are looking to make some new friends or possibly establish age-old friendships! We're both PST. I work office hours and raid 3 times a week. Victoire works odd hours and is usually up much later than I. A little bit about the couple. Jeantremont and Victoire fled Ishgard nearly 60 years ago to start a new life and a family away from the oppressive rules of the Holy See. They lived in Gridania for a few months before eventually settling in Ul'dah. They started out with nothing, working their asses off to eventually become part of Ul'dah's upper class and give their family something they never could have had in Ishgard. They have five children, a handful of grandkids, and are starting to get some great grandkids. Jean (85) is a master medicinal alchemist with clients all over Eorzea while Vic (75) is a badass bounty hunter mage. We're looking for new friends and possibly to establish long-time (or new!) friendships with other old folks (with Eorzea's high mortality rate, that might be rare).

I'm not at home to test that I have this issue too, but more often than not, I find that the errors in the launcher lies with IE. The launcher uses IE to show content but it also uses Javascript. Ensure your version of IE is up to date and that you have javascript enabled. I'm not sure if that will address your particular problem but no harm in checking.

Thavnair was well known for alchemy. If I remember correctly, I believe they brought alchemy to Ul'dah.

Eorzean Gamblers' Competition! Bi-Weekly on Sundays, 8 PM EST!
plumsamurai replied to MBajihri's topic in Chronicled Events
It's time to duel! HAHAHAHA -
I think whoreson is the one I've probably heard most by the npcs. My personal favorites in rp include telling someone to drink cactuar piss "aldgoat's ass" cursing someone to the fiery depths of the seventh hell calling someone cankerous (it's such a descriptive word) The tamer ones seem to include things like "heavens forefend!" and "Twelve strike you where you stand!"

There also seems to be a strong sense of purism in Ishgard that blankets over every aspect of Ishgardian life. This leads to things like hating crossbreeds between elezen and hyur, attempts to suppress and control the lower class and lowborn (they are not pure and born of the high houses), and pretty much everything else. I first started noticing this in the BTN questline, then went back to look at other quests and there is definitely a sense of purity. In the BTN storyline, you've been helping Basyle try to grow food in the Sea of Clouds, which is pretty inhospitable for plant life. So you end up helping him crossbreed seeds. He nearly gets sent to the Tribunal for crossbreeding seeds, growing foreign crops on Ishgardian soil, tainting all the crops with their impurity. Poor Basyle nearly gets killed over freaking impure seeds. Ishgard values its purity over everything else. I think an important thing to note, at least in regards to hyur vs elezen is that hyur were just starting to integrate into Eorzean society at nearly the same time that Haldrath and all of them encountered Nidhogg Midlanders are pretty good at meshing with society, giving up their own roots to take up the traditions of the land they call home. MSQ specifically states that Ishgardians were only elezen at the time, leading us to believe that hyur integrated at a later date. When exactly, who knows. Now if you look at the npcs, most of the nobles are elezen, but you do come across a few hyur ladies. There's one in particular outside of the Astrologicum chatting with an Elezen lady. She also interestingly enough has an elezen manservant. Your contact in the WVR questline is also a hyur lady (who falls in love with a lowborn. I don't know the end of the story yet, but I doubt this will end well). Hyur definitely are not members of the high houses, but there are definitely a handful of noble houses in the city that are hyurian, midlanders specifically. I got carried away, I think, but I'd say that both racism and classism are pretty prevalent in Ishgard, but personally, I think the foundation is in purism and keeping Ishgard as pure as possible.

Meeting people at events are great. I love walk ups at these sorts of things, but like most of the people before me have said, chat scroll is overwhelming, especially at very populated events. I've gotten /tells after the fact of "I was going to interfere but you were talking with someone else" or "You didn't see my /say so I left." Half the time I can't even find my own statement in the chat box. Personally I tend to hone in on emotes involving "you" or my character's name. And if that doesn't work, there is that loud /tell sound that catches most people's attention. Don't get downtrodden from it. And Jancis is a sweetheart. I know she's really busy at the Pilgrimage events, but she's the sort to make time for everyone if possible.

I do appreciate you putting these together! Went for over 2 hours too until my stomach demanded I get lunch.
