Wow, its rare when I see people explode onto this site and say "Use me for your RP!", paraphrased of course. Welcome to the site! I think you'd be surprised at how fast you can get involved with plots and RP when you start a character from scratch; especially, if you are already a skilled and experienced RPer. HOWEVER, if you want to do the role thing, I do have some roles to offer you. I will PM you with the details about me, my connections and the roles I can offer you. On the other hand, there are countless threads that players started where they are nearly begging people to fill a role they have in mind, so I'm sure you'll get flooded with PMs and role offers very soon.

So, I was trying to formulate a new outfit for Kiht. I was having her try on different pieces of armor and clothing. Well, at one point I accidentally took a screenshot... Imagine being in your house, and turning around to see this^ suddenly standing there! Kiht Jakkya: Erm... I'm here for all your monies...

Now, the song is an English adaptation of a song that was originally made in Japanese. Most English adaptations suck, but this one is pretty good IMHO. HI! Welcome to the site! Yeah, I was the same way when I first started RP. It's good that you read Eva's guide. I found tavern RP to be intimidating at first, so I stuck to events and the such. One event that I highly recommend is the Grindstone event. Look it up under Balmung events. The event is hosted by the Grindstone Free Company twice a week. Its a good event because you can watch RP combat at its finest, and you don't have to participate. You can simply be a spectator. There are always lots of spectators you can RP with. However, because the matches are the focal point, you won't be the center of attention, and any RP you get involved in will likely be slow-paced, short and simple. In other words, it would be like casually talking to other spectators while everyone is mostly focused on the matches. Very easy-going RP if you ask me. If you are more looking for one-on-one RP to start then try making a post on the RP section. If anyone responds, use player-search to find them in-game, and take it from there. Happy hunting

Hey! Sorry it took so long to get a response We are an easily distracted group, and we get a lot of new people to the forums daily, so some posts get lost in the mix. Firstly, I am not sure if there are any RP groups on your server. If you really want to RP, I suggest switching servers to Balmung or Gilgamesh. Secondly, mmo RPing is like writing a story in real-time with other people. Once you learn the basics, its only as hard as others make it. However, in my experience, it is not that hard. I would compare it to driving a car on the freeway, but with less road-rage (mostly). You have to follow the rules of the road and adapt to the actions of others on the freeway while also trying to go where you want to go. Once you've practiced, it will become second-nature. Its far from eye-cancer. Most of the drawings have a sort of cartoony style that looks great IMHO. The last one is really good I think. Is that from City of Heroes/Villains or Champions Online maybe? I use to play those games. Anyways, practice makes perfect. Nothing wrong with what you got so far, its better than what I can do.

I shouldn't be surprised by the diversity of opinions. Its great to read everyone's take on the subject. I was going to wait longer before giving my opinion on the matter because I didn't want to influence other peoples answers, but with so many opinions set forth already, I hardly think that will happen now. So, with Kiht, I fully express her ears and tail in a cat-like fashion; if I remember they are there :lol: I haven't purred with her yet, but I have considered it because I think it might be funny if she let off something that sounds like a purr then suddenly tries to hide the fact that she made it. Not sure if I'd do that yet. I gave her a cat-like curiosity and feistyness. And she will certainly hiss when threatened. She would bare her Keeper fangs if angry enough, but that is hardly exclusive to cats. Many animals with teeth do that. I've seen humans do it too. She is mostly carnivorous, and has cat-like grace/agility. I also keep her powerful sense of smell in mind. On the other hand, she wouldn't meow, roll her Rs (too lazy for that), nor would she put any "nyans" in her sentences. As for her reactions to physical contact, I don't know yet. I'll have to consider that. Looking forward to reading more responses from people.

Yes, I just threw some fuel into the fire that is the controversial Miqo'te. Please forgive me, but I am so curious. I would like to know how cat-like other RPers play their Miqo'te. This was somewhat discussed in a previous thread, but wasn't touched on directly. I am not really interested in knowing why people choose to play Miqo'te (I love Miqo'te myself), but rather, HOW they play Miqo'te. Do you ever make your Miqo'te meow? Purr? Hiss? Or do you just stick with emoting the ears and tail? Are there any other cat-like tendencies you do with yours? Regardless of my personal feelings on the matter (which I will share later), I have never judged how other people play their Miqo'te. I recently met a RPer who played his/her Miqo'te in a more dog-like fashion. I thought it was an interesting idea and would never try to discourage that RPer from doing so. However, Square obviously seemed to intend to make the Miqo'te a cat-like people, so how do you play yours? Cat-like? Dog-like? Neither? I would like to hear from all Miqo'te RPers who want to offer an opinion on the matter.

Believe me, I totally understand the shyness. Just take it one step at a time. Prepare as long, and as much as you feel you need to. Take every little bit of progress towards RP as an accomplishment. Don't get discouraged, and keep trying. You'll get it, slowly perhaps, but you will get it. Also know that you are not alone in your feelings of shyness. Welcome to the site!
