The other day, I noticed something strange when I was in party with a friend, and I was killing Aldgoats for skins. Some of my kills made it so my party member got skins instead of me. He wasn't even doing anything either. It seems the loot distribution is on a roll system that doesn't account for contribution. This seemed bad at first, but it got me thinking. What if a full party went to a place and continued to wipe out a group of baddies for their drops? If the distribution is random then perhaps the mass quantities of enemies that can be killed quickly by a party could make up for the random distribution, and make it so everyone got a good amount of the drops they wanted in a timely manner. Has anyone ever tried this? If so, how did it go? If no one has tried this, does anyone think it would be a viable option?

I would not soon forget it I find it ironic that if Pyralis had told Kiht about his history right then and there, Kiht could have instantly dragged you into a plot. Gah, everyone misunderstands Miqos at first. If those who roll male Miqo'te only wanted to build a harem, then all the Tias on the sever would be doing it wrong I only see a few Nuhn once in a while, and it does make me wonder what their angle is; however, there are far more Tias, and plenty of Moon-keepers. A rather irritated Hyur Wood Wailer scowled up at the Miqto'te girl as she climbed along the Carpenter's Guild rooftop. "You! Get down from there!" The Wood Wailer shouted. Kiht looked to the Wailer and simply responded with a taunting grin then she continued to search for the letter. Kiht could smell it, but the scent was so strong that it smelled as if it could be anywhere on the roofs of any of the buildings between the Aetheryte plaza and the Blue Badger gate. Fortunately, there were only a few buildings in that area. Once the Wood Wailer walked away, Kiht saw her opportunity to move on to the roof of the Carline Canopy. Once up there, Kiht began searching quickly. She knew the Wood Wailer would not stay gone. Kiht finally located the letter, but just as she was about to leave the roof, she noticed new Wood Wailers approaching. The one Hyur Wood Wailer brought three others. "Do you not have something better to do, Wailers!?" Kiht shouted at them. However, she would not stay around for their answer. Kiht jumped down from the roof and bolted out into the Shroud. She would return later at night when the Wood Wailer guards changed shifts. Kiht hands the letter to the Inn receptionist, but she motions for him to wait a moment then hands him something else. “Please leave this with the letter” Kiht requests. She then walks out of the Carline Canopy. The Inn receptionist opens his hand to see a ring made of Aldgoat leather. The symbol of Menphina is engraved on it.

Heya everyone. I created this thread to make a place that people could go to, and post requests for RP crafters and gatherers. However, this is a work in progress. I occasionally see threads where crafting is requested, but if no one immediately responds, the request gets lost in the flood of new threads that get put up everyday. Hopefully, with people posting requests here, the thread will get bumped often, and it will draw the attention of RP crafters and gatherers. Feel free to post crafting/gathering requests on this thread! Update: I wish to announce that someone has stepped forth to fulfill my request. Also, in response to everyone else. I have decided that the crafting requests don't necessarily need to be RP-related. Anyone is free to post a request to this thread. And crafters/gatherers may also create a sort-of profile on this thread to advertise their IC and OOC skills. Guidelines for requests: Is this an IC or OOC request? Perhaps both? Please specify. If you have a RP directory, link it. If not, specify your average play times and time zone. Specify if you are willing to pay actual gil, but DO NOT state how much. That is a discussion for in-game or PMs. This is not an auction thread. Specify if you are going to provide materials. Specify how crafters/gatherers may contact you. Specify weather or not you want HQ (High Quality) items. Update your post when you've found someone who will, or has fulfilled your request. I may be forgetting some things, but just make sure to try and think about what a carafter/gather should know about your request. Guidelines for Crafters and/or Gatherers. DO NOT spam this thread with ads. Make a single profile post, and update it. Specify your preferences on what the requesters should bring. In other words, if you want them to provide materials, specify. DO NOT list gil prices. Again this is not an auction thread. I ask this because I think everyone should have equal opportunity to succeed at getting requests fulfilled, and attracting people who want to use their services. Specify IC and OOC crafting/gathering professions and skills. Specify how you would like requesters to contact you. Remember, this thread is for unofficial, in-game crafting/gathering services. Anything that looks like it might be an ad for something else outside the game might summon a lvl 99 (Extreme Mode) Pissed Off Freelance Wizard with perma thread-destroying ability. Lets try to avoid that please... Be civil. This is not an Ul'dah market for cut-throat merchants and cheaters. If anyone cheats anybody, DO NOT report them on this thread. "What in the Seven Hells?" Kiht asks herself as she stares up into a tall tree. The scent was obviously coming from the tree, but there was no letter anywhere near it. It -had- to be up in the canopy. Kiht contemplated for a moment then smirked confidently as she came to understand why Saachi might have put the letter in the tree canopy. Kiht crouched with her legs together and her knees bent. "Both legs must act as one, and focus." Kiht whispered to herself as she remembered Yvelont's (her mentor) training. Kiht focused every fiber of her being into this one task. She knew she couldn't jump into the tree canopy, but she could get a leaping start up before having to latch onto the trunk. She drew two hunting knives from her satchel and held one in each hand. Kiht springs into the air; the combination of her training, and strong Miqo'te legs complimenting each other. She makes it quite a ways up the tree before stabbing knives into the trunk, and planting her feet on the rugged bark. Kiht manages to get a hold on the tree without sliding back down. She climbed the rest of the way to the canopy. After retrieving the letter, Kiht climbed back down the tree a ways before letting go, and falling to the ground. Using her leg muscles to absorb the shock, and timing her reaction with them allowed her to land hard but gracefully on her feet. It was time to head to the Carline Canopy and read her new letter. Kiht hands in her letter to the inn receptionist. She grins widely for the first time in many Suns.

Just wanted to update everyone! This LS has recently recruited quite a bit of the interested peoples. However, I still see names on this thread that are not on the LS roster. Make sure to send Vairemont PMs on this site if you still have interest. You might also find Vairemont in-game; however, that will not likely be as easy. As another option, anyone is welcome to find me in-game and send me a tell I am in this game almost every day, and I usually play for long periods. My one and only character is Kiht Jakkya <3 I am in the PST US time zone. I am not an officer, so I can't invite anyone, but I will tell Vairemont about people who send me tells, and assist in arranging a meeting if I can. Keep in mind that this is an IC LS, so for now, the only way to get an invite is to ICly meet with Vairemont.

This is soooo true! My one and only character is often out of her element in Ul'dah, so its not her favorite place, and she doesn't have much need to go there so far. Aaaaand welcome back Erik! Kiht is going to be so happy that she doesn't have to be worried about you haunting her again! :lol:

I see no reason why aether manipulation can't be used to explain a "standard" Dragoon's abilities. If that is a sort of consensus then I am fine with it, and will even have my character learn those abilities too. However, I do not think the lore should be ignored altogether. Like Theodric said: I agree with that, but the problem is, "doing it well" is a highly subjective term. That is why the lore is there; it sets boundaries (god help me I sound like a lore hound). It is said time and again in countless NPC dialogues that the Azure Dragoon has the power of a DRAGON. The Azure Dragoon can leap into the sky and fight amongst the clouds. Should any other Dragoon really be able to do that? If someone were to ICly leap high into the sky (like Superman) in front of me I just don't think I could take them seriously. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop, jumping onto a high boulder, leaping over a foes head to land on the other side of them, leaping into a foe and kicking off of them into a back-flip to land in a previous spot, sounds fine to me. With the previously mentioned aether manipulation and training, I can see that being possible. But if anyone did "ima jump this mountain in a single leap!"; sorry, I just can't bring myself to ICly acknowledge that.

I know this has been talked about already. However, most of the recent discussion has been as sort of a side discussion in the White Mage and Ishgardian threads. I searched the forums for any threads that -directly- talked about the plausibility of ICly being a Dragoon. I found an old one! http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=4373&highlight=Dragoon I wanted to show this to the many many new people who have joined the community since then. Many people have expressed interest in being IC Dragoons. And I also have something to add. My interpretation: According to the NPC, Dragoons are elite Ishgard knights. With an IC means to receive the training, I see no reason why someone can't become an IC Dragoon (or at least have the skills of one). It is the leader of the Dragoons (The Azure Dragoon) who is chosen by the Eye relic. This Azure Dragoon is the only one who has the special powers of a dragon. Thus, being an IC Azure Dragoon is probably a no no. Now, I have not had a chance to read all the dialogue and lore regarding Dragoons, but what this NPC said seems pretty clear to me. As for what a "standard" Dragoon would be capable of, I have no idea. That seems rather vague to me. Obviously though, they would not have the same power as the Azure Dragoon.

Kiht then reads the letter slowly as her reading skills are a bit below average. "What is a Saachi?" Kiht asks herself. Kiht replaces the letter under the rocks. She was going to simply return to going about her business, but she suddenly feels compelled to respond to it. Driven by her innately strong sense of curiosity, she finds another piece of parchment and begins writing a response letter. Written in sloppy, but still legible handwriting: "Greetings, Saachi, I am... My name is not important. I found your letter under the rocks near the Botanists Guild. You do realize that it is starting to get moldy under there? I was able to smell it that way. Nature soon reclaims everything if given the chance... If you left this letter to simply learn something random about random people then you have a stronger sense of curiosity than I do! Well, I decided to indulge you. I am a scout and huntress. I notice things that many others might overlook. That is one of the reasons why I found this letter. Tell me Saachi, do you have family or friends? What lengths would you go through to keep them alive? Would you defy the twelve? Would you fight the very environment around you that you were raised in? Would you become something far greater than most in order to protect them? The answer may seem obvious and easy, but think about it. Many have said that they love their gods more than they love their family. Would they be wrong to do so? Mayhaps you were not expecting such a heavy series of questions! Mayhaps I should just send you poetry! If you choose to respond to this letter, coat your response letter in something with a strong scent, and leave it somewhere outside the Blue Badger gate before Dusk. I -will- find it. If you choose not to respond then Menphina guide your steps Saachi. Have a fair life."

"The Princess drew a botanists' axe, and grinned wickedly at the oncoming Morbol!" Kiht writes in handwriting that is somewhat sloppy, but easily legible. She then grins tauntingly, and bolts away before anyone can reprimand her.

I'd like to take the opportunity to reassure you all that Vairemont -IS- getting this going, and he -will- try to find all who have shown interest. I say this because I have witnessed him doing so in-game. Also, if you are having trouble finding him in-game, send him a PM on this site. I have done so, and he responds very quickly. I am not trying to lecture anyone, so please don't get me wrong. We (myself included) are all excited for this LS! I just say all this because I want to reassure everyone, and maybe testify to Vairemont's efforts. Also, I am in-game quite often. I have made it point to OOCly find people, and tell Vairemont where they are, if he is on. So, rest assured, there is more than one person looking for you all Happy Hunting everyone!
