  1. Yoooo, welcome! Your timezone actually falls in great with the EU community, which is quite prevalent on Balmung! As for finding RP, take a look at the calendar and see if there are any events you can attend. Tavern nights, fight nights, etc are a great way to meet new people and get involved. Plus yeah, like people have said, there's pretty much always RP going on somewhere, usually in Ul'dah. Making Connections is the place to go as well, if you're looking to message some people in advance and find some hooks! Welcome again.
  2. A friendly bump plus a few updates: [*]Switched up the alts, removing Tamuh/Atreus and putting a little more focus on Emerlain Moreau and P'sain Tia. [*]Linkshells updated! [*]Finished RPC profiles for all! (haha it's never over)
  3. -dusts this off- Yooo Still doing art! Portraits for Inarah as encouragement. She has lovely characters! And a couple commissions, for Phi Atsuho and Kheja'a Akhabila! Also valentines of Ruran and Madoc for Valentine's Day. :''''D
  4. Wooooh, awesome, I love your more abstract pieces and their compositions. Great colors too!
  5. Hithren and I spent too many hours just playing in gpose and crying over our lizards.
  6. Ooh I like this! RURAN VAS Western Thanalan (Silver Bazaar): Sunset. His favorite spot for meditation, sitting near the cliffside and overlooking the strait. Plus supporting the struggling merchants there! The Goblet (Rooftops): Nighttime. He loves heights and tries to find the best, solitary places for stargazing and reflection. ...Even if it means a tiiiiiny bit of trespassing. North Shroud (Forests): Morning/Daytime. He enjoys the chill of the Shroud in the north, reminds him of his home. He doesn't go here often, but it's still one of his favorites. MADOC PARNELL Western La Noscea (Aleport): Evening. The bustling of merchants and pirates as they end their day with drinks is just the sort of liveliness he enjoys! Dravanian Forelands (Tailfeather): Daytime. There’s good hunting to be had, in the form of dangerous game and a harsh wilderness. Punch a bear in the face! Central Thanalan (Coffer & Coffin): Anytime. Madoc likes to meet clients and contacts here, where it’s convenient but not too crowded like the Quicksand. I can’t say I have any personal favorites. Sea of Clouds with Umbral Wind, maybe? I like large, winding maps where it feels like I’ll get lost. I miss you, FFXI.
  7. Whoa, these are wonderful! I love how flowing your sketches feel, and the ref sheet is A+++ (that coloring!). Looking forward to seeing more!
  8. Commission for Kilid and Inarah (feat. Baby Dimah)! Commission for Maril!
  9. I did it. I finally finished custom wikis for my active characters. Now I can rest ...for now. bury me
  10. Character Name: Ruran Vas Wiki link/short description: Wiki - Wandering, melancholic masked knight who hunts voidsent and searches for relics. Have you completed the MSQ up until end of 3.4: Yes! My character should be anonymous: Either works!
  11. Aww, tumblr is great. Not for everyone, but it's a definite timesink for me. It's been a magey month. Drew an early Christmas give for my lovely SO Romi, a Thaumaturge (and frog): And my half of an exchange over at @eorzean-art-exchange! For Shio Khatayin, an Astrologian.
  12. Recently had a giveaway on my main tumblr and gave some art as prizes! 2nd Place, waist-up sketch, @sweetcattes: 1st Place, waist-up color, @duskwightscholar:
  13. More stuff! For warm-up sketches, I decided to draw some lovelies (as well as a masked trashknight). Featuring: Iona, Romi, Ruran, Phi, Keldorin, and Kheja'a! Rosamund Hale, one of Inarah's characters! As a small thank you for being awesome. And as an excuse to practice more shading. >_> An idea turning in my head for a bit, on the spoop side of Ruran.
  14. Aw man. I'm wishing for more 'clutter' furniture items. Things related to crafting or storage. Give me smoking alchemy bottles, spice racks, armor/weapon stands, coin piles (a la Aquapolis), glasses/plates, piles of clothes, etc. Let me trash my room with more than papers, goshdarnit. And while I'm thinking on it, let me rotate my paintings. What if I want them to be askew? What if an upside-down Merlwyb is good luck? What then? I'd also like to be able to send friend requests to people who aren't online. Too many times have I had to wait for the stars to align in order to catch someone and add them. Too many. And I want to mail gil/items to my alts, and make my alts tenants of my house. Let me be lazy, SE. I understand the reasons for restrictions on mail (gilsellers), but this is my wish and I'm sticking to it. Idle animations. The NPCs have better idle animations than we do (see: none). Let us talk with our hands/nibble on food/do squats/look around. Think of the possibilities! Immersion! And like ExAtomos said, untimed dungeons. Or at least, when the final boss is defeated, stop the timer so that we can wander around afterwards. I'd love to clear the place and be able to RP in there indefinitely. Ugh, yes.
  15. Aaaaaaaaaaugh you did such an amazing job! The extra shading adds so much. THANK YOU, it was well worth the wait! Hhhhhh fantastic.
  16. I have not forgotten about this! Slowly picking away at the list, but some unexpected life happenings have prevented me from getting as much done as I originally wanted. But it's still underway, I assure you! And also, with that being said, requests are now closed! To prevent myself from getting swamped further, and also because I'll be opening up commissions soon. Thank you to everyone who allowed me to draw your face! I feel much more prepared to tackle art in exchange for currency.
  17. That's exactly true for me, too. If I'm asking for RP, I often feel like it's my obligation to have a purpose or driving force behind it. Otherwise I kinda flounder around, wanting to RP with someone but not having any idea what to do, and so I don't ask. But Aya's right, flexibility is important, and you have to trust that since the other person wants to RP with you, you can both build a scene together! This is a very good way of thinking, and one that I don't do often enough. I guess it's because I'm on the fence about smalltalk RP. It can be hit and miss, and it so often devolves into awkwardness and 'well, gotta go', that I would rather make plans with a specific purpose in mind. (At least for certain characters, anyway.) But this definitely works for a lot of people and should be something to consider!
  18. Well that is a dang good cactuar dance if I ever saw one Welcome! Yeah, if RPing is your jam, you'll probably want to consider switching over to Balmung. That's where a majority of roleplayers are located, with a few scattered around Gilgamesh/Jenova/maybe Fairy? But yeah! Welcome back!
  19. Basically echoing what a lot of people are saying already. It really does depend on the time of day, and the type of people you're asking. There's a ton of RP going on, to be sure, which isn't a bad thing at all. With the increase in RP, there's also an increase of RPers. It's just a matter of finding them. I'm...not a fan of spontaneous RP, usually. When people ask 'Anyone want to RP? I'm free right now!', I panic. Maybe it's because I'm naturally introverted and am a bundle of nerves under pressure, or because I like to consider what my character is doing/where/why/etc and have time to settle in and prepare myself. But I'm also one of those people that enjoys planning a week or so in advance, because I can get quite busy with RP plans stacking up on me. People can't expect others to come to them, and they also can't expect anyone to be free at the drop of a hat. Instead, communicate in advance! Once you start poking others, making plans, and setting aside times to RP with a few people, you'll soon find yourself drowning in RP.

    New!

Ayyy, hello! You'll find most RP over at the Balmung server. There have been a few attempts to establish RP communities at Gilgamesh and Jenova(?), but Balmung definitely has the majority. As far as what you should know, not much! I think you'll get the hang of it fairly quicky, if you roam around a bit and explore the FC/LS listing, and perhaps lurk on Balmung at various events and the Quicksand in Ul'dah (which has the most public RP traffic). I'm sure others have some great advice to share, but that's all I've got. :U I hope you like it here!
  21. Thank you, as always! 1: Fenrir Pup 2: Tier 2 Aquarium 3: Sophic Barding 4: Mog Station Outfit
  22. Welcome! Awesome introduction. Your characters seem fascinating, perhaps we can meet up sometime!
