Taijha has all the mage classes Conjuror, Thaumaturge and Arcanist. All three are IC, but Thm is something she only dabbled in briefly and decided she didn't like it. I leveled it up to 5 and stopped to represent this. Cnj she went to "school" for, and then found books about Scholars/Arcanists and their type of magic... she has never been to Limsa IC'ly. Nothing in the main story so far pertains to her, except for joining a Company (most likely).

So.. I did a little umm... research for Wildwood surnames using this name generator, which is based on the in-game name generator. This seems to use actual French surnames, while the in-game one just seems to be a "mash word parts together and hope for a french-sound" type name generator lol. HOWEVER, I have not seen any of the in-game name generator names on any of the NPCs... I have found several of the website surnames in-game... But first, and explanation about what I did: I took a standard piece of lined paper and clicked generate once for each line in the paper and wrote the name down (27 names), with the top part of the page used for "Other" and "special" names; which I will explain later. After I had my 27 names, I clicked generate for 15 minutes and wrote down the amount of times a name on my list popped up. The names with the with most occurrences are the largest families, while the smallest amount, might be noble/aristocratic/wealthy or even just hick families. Or it could be the opposite; highest occurrences are the wealthier families (more money -> more food -> more babies). So with that I give you my list of Wildwood Families!

Im so glad I got to play last night because I knew this BS was gonna happen today (and most likely the next two days). Also why do devs *always* mess this up? Every single launch I have been in (and it's been quite a lot), there has been the same old "OMG we didnt plan for this many people, we only set up the game to allow x number of folk!" And then you end up with ques a mile long (which is preferable to this nonsense). Yoshida even admitted in his latest post that they only set up the servers to support 5000 connections. And that he was surprised that so many people wanted to play... so instead of underestimating the amount of potential players (or just ignoring the sales figures for FF games in the west maybe?), why not set up the servers to allow more than what you think might be wanting to play? And then if you have to scale back the servers so they arent hooking up as many connections. That would make more sense to me than to make the connection amounts so tiny... and yes, 5k is tiny considering there are over 6 billion people on the planet. I'm not a server tech person (I minor in IT and do fixit type stuff), so I am not going to pretend to know what I'm talking about, nor do I think I could have done this better... but them Im not a game dev either so it doesnt matter. lol

So... after we did Tam-tara tonight (which was a blast), I noted that the weather in Gridania was all blue and foggy with... stuff in the air. Then someone noted and then discovered that Odin was about. I haven't been this happy about getting one-shotted by a legendary mob in I dont know how long lol. The attackers had him SO close to going down too... then BAM!! Everyones scattered on the ground like discarded toys. So much fun... and then the nerdgasming started. Ive always been a fan of "a hero did it" A nameless person just known as A Hero... kinda like the recent anime where the characters were all called by titles instead of names... or like Clint Eastwoods spagetti westerns.

You know, I would love to have an mmo where there is no over-arching storyline, or at least not one that thrusts you into the middle being the god-like hero they god-mod you to be. Have it be a background thing that the npcs talk about and MAYBE you encounter snippets of the story during your adventures. There should be quests and dungeons though, otherwise it would just be a horrible grinder game.

The 1017 error is even more infuriating when you get the loading screen for 10 to 15 seconds before you get the troll message.

0I just tried it in Word, and it does work the way its supposed to. I'm gonna try the script with f3 as the script turnon button instead of wheelup, maybe it got moved or something... Just tried it again, and it still hangs on the 1017 window... maybe I'll just plug my gamepad in and spam the startbutton... >.<

Sadly, even though you can make a character there, now, you still have to deal with the 1017 troll...

It worked until it got to the 1017 error... then it just sat there, taunting me. Also when I alt-tab out even with the f2 button pushed, it wont resume afterwards when I go back to the menu. I did copy and paste exactly as shown. I did download autohotkey from the link supplied.

Full-screen windowed mode is better, it's like windowed mode, but without the border that you might accidentally click the ominous red box in the upper right.

My carpal tunnel is getting worse playing the 1017 game... that's pain and suffering. lol

Part of me feels like this isn't enough compensation... but at least it's something; so I am ignoring the part of me that thinks that.

That's unfortunate... I really wanted to play an archer with a carby.

You and me both know you cant use the tank pet on another class :cry: o3o I didn't know this actually... been playing my Arcanist the most since going for Scholar. How about the support carby?
