  1. I mean more in terms of what sorts of general themes are going to be present, or what you're looking to foster with this event-set. They may not be related, but there still might be a set of themes or genres that you're hoping to touch upon. Even if the answer to that would be "everything," it might still be important to note that, is all.
  2. I don't have a guild or nuffin', but if you just want someone to pal around with and maybe do an impromptu plot or two, feel free to hit me up on Oliwat Kokiwat the Midget Wizard or Adalhaid Rask the punch-person. Tavern RP bores me too a lot of the time, so we can go on mini-adventures or something instead.
  3. A little more information might help to gather more interest, I would think. That said, I've run a lot of things in other places, and I would be willing to help, if you need it.
  4. People like their characters to look cool. Some people think that backing down makes you look like a wuss, so they don't do it. Either that or they just want to show everyone their Good Combat Skills so they pick fights at every available opportunity. Just remind them that you're trying to keep everything running smoothly for this event, and if they want to continue intruding on the enjoyment of the event for everyone else, that they will have to leave and / or be disregarded by all attending.
  5. If / when I ever get the character that I want to turn into a Dark Knight into the 3.0 content, they will be emotionally driven because I find that more fun.
  6. DON'T TRAIN WITH THIS MAN IT'S A TRAP Oh wait, wrong Flynt. Carry on.
  7. Etymology does not imply meaning, it is used as a basis to explain meaning. The meaning of conservatism refers to either the stated dislike of the change of the current, or a range of political philosophies. Note that "Traditional" does not always cross with "accepted." In addition, "Traditional Conservatism," as stated in the thread title, is an even more specific form of this second meaning. But we digress.
  8. As a counterpoint, I would say that for the most part, adventurers (otherwise known as we, the players) are known for their worldly and against-the-grain views, which might include not acting like that. We're a small portion of a worldly population, doing our own thing. So it's not wholly unrealistic for people to not play this up in RP. Also, though I have no particular political allegiance of my own, the implication that being conservative (especially 'traditional' conservatism, which is something entirely different) equates to being racist is unfortunate and probably demeaning.
  9. So I was thinking about BioShock last night after finally getting one of my characters into 3.0 content, and ended up listening to the BioShock Song: And for some reason, when I got to the last verse, I realized that "Rapture" and "Ishgard" have the same amount of letters. I also found out that the instrumentals from that video are available on YouTube.
  10. If you want something a little less glowy, the new Esoterics lance is also rather similar design-wise.
  11. I'll be honest, most of these make me want to dry-heave. Monk set would have been better without the stupid arm-paint and that flower pattern on the pants though.

    Jutat De

I have a character that I'll want to get on this with, depending on how things work out for them in the present!
  13. Nilabqa Khal could be an investigator! She pokes her nose into things when she's not working. Though if a high-level character is required, I can volunteer Oliwat Kokiwat instead.

    Patch 3.05 Notes

It's worth noting that there are games out there that get people to raid by playing up the challenge and making them really hard, which some people enjoy. WildStar was the most recent to do this, though it did end up not doing so well financially, which may or may not say something about how people feel about this sort of switch-up.
  15. I'd honestly just chalk this up to the game's visual style, and the fact that we're only just now encountering NPCs that are supposed to be old (except for like, Papashan maybe). It's very likely that the developer team just saw no need to put them in at the time and are only just starting to, similar to how World of Warcraft saw no need to give racial leaders unique models until nearly a decade after the game launched. I've noticed that some people like to justify this by saying that there's a very low chance that the elderly could have survived the Calamity or whatever, so do with that what you will, but at the end of the day I think that's just a developer thing either way.
  16. When Lalafell are really young, the best way to tell would most likely be size, since they're apparently born small enough to the point where they make a good snack for lots of monsters throughout the world. Other than that, appearance-wise, they mostly stay the same; if one let a bunch of grey hair grow out, or had a super long beard, it might be plausible to say that they're older than most; other than that, their physical traits remain constant through old age. A Lalafell that's 100, as far as we can tell, probably would not look any different from a Lalafell that is 30.
  17. Oliwat is Orange Juice. Because he basically lives off of that instead of water.
  18. SCREW ALL OF YOU I'M TAKING THE ONE TRUE THEME BEFORE ANYONE ELSE GETS TO IT. Ezrbyf6t9mY Oliwat just turns into a wizard with a way stylish robe, a Sentai visor, and the pointiest hat in the world. With wing-designs on it. Because Super Sentai.
  19. Make fun of Oliwat for being short and it's on like donkey kong.
  20. Nilabqa Khal, or just 'Nil'. Professional housekeeper. Emotionless bodyguard. Excellent piano player. No memory. Mechanical efficiency. Silently judging you and everyone you know at all times. If you break into her place of employment she'll cut you to pieces and then scrub your innards out of the tiled flooring she just cleaned. But other than that she's a rather nice gal. Don't mess with the maid.
  21. Okay sweet, I'll pass along the good news. What is the price on the transfer? I was told 18, but wanna double check? Should be $18, yeah.
