Reading this thread actually got me to thinking about a RP reason why my character might hold a soulstone. I've always floated around the idea that Kroemgarr was enamored by the stories of an Ishgardian trader, which led him to take up the lance and become an adventurer. Would it be plausible that-- should said merchant be a retired Dragoon with a soulstone on his person-- that the crystal would fragment into a new stone upon sensing Kroemgarr's "worthiness"? I'm half thinking about the process by which Materia could be born in (original) VII as part of the inspiration.

Yeah, I think I remember properly that it was part of 2.3, the Defenders of Eorzea patch. Previous post updated now.

Represent. Kroemgarr was pretty much decided on during the beta. I think my main reason for going Roegadyn at the time was the fact that I never played FFXI, and general mindset was Roes were pretty much the Galka-likes. Finding out the Sea Wolf naming conventions sealed the deal, though. As for why now? Definitely grown to like the aesthetic of it now that I've played him for a year and a half.

Of course, the accuracy of that chart differs depending on whether or not you've finished certain content in the main and side story.

A bit late, but since it hasn't been said, there WILL be a full Heavensward OST release in the future (including a physical disc version), but they're putting smaller releases on iTunes right now to tide people over.

I'm also just catching it now (since I've been away for a bit due to RL stuff), but if you can find your way into the Adventurer's Guild linkshell on Greg, then there's a pretty active community roleplayers on it with all sorts of OOC chat and setup banter. Also, echoing the statement that you'll find a lot of Gilgamesh players (that I know) prefer to use their own forum outside the RPC-- which is a slight shame, but I digress. Feel free to give me a wave if you find me in game, too~

Not just one game I'm going to be missing, but two. I've split my time up until now with XIV and Champions Online, the latter which I've played since 2012. And, sorry to disappoint about not being the other kind of "moving", Kage-- I've been with Gilgamesh from the beginning so I got a bit of attachment to it, especially where Kroemgarr is concerned. However, I know a bunch of my RP buddies from CO who also play this game are holed up on Balmung, so... who knows? My hyuran ACN/ROG alt can come over PS: Thread title fixed.

...And just when I'm getting hype about Heavensward, too. *sigh* I'm going to be moving into a rental basement suite at the end of the month-- a somewhat necessary relocation due to my grandmother, whom I was living with since 2013, passing away back in February. It's not a big move, but there's an issue with the place not having any communication hookups whatsoever, so it poses a barrier for me getting back online. I've been playing XIV off of time cards, so it's not like I have a sub to cancel, but I definitely want to return to Eorzea when I can. I know most of my fellow Gregs are quiet on this forum, but I have to say that I'm proud of being part of our community and hope that we'll adventure again soon.

I don't mind, but not for any policy reasons (though I understand why and such). To me, the whole art for Gil thing seemed a little bit server-exclusive to me, so I would prefer transactions that don't involve the game.

When it gets running, I wouldn't mind joining it with Kroemgarr. Part-time, of course

For the sake of fairness, I think it's about time the "little brother" server has one of these. Like Balmung, the Gilgamesh server has a higher population and can be just as hard to break into due to the character creation restrictions Square Enix has in place for servers like these. This thread is here for anyone who happens to find that golden window of opportunity. We Gregs would like to welcome you! (Unfortunately, it's not open as of this post.)

Staying on Gilgamesh doesn't mean you have to stop posting or being active altogether on the RPC-- that's a very bad misconception you need to get rid of right away! It's just a sad fact that few of us "Gregs" end up being active here (whether it be percieved "Balmung domination" or the presence of another forum). There's more than enough tools to use out there. I'm somewhat attached to the RPC myself. Too many websites for me to remember as it is. If you haven't already, see if you can get invited to the Adventurer's Guild linkshell on our server, it's a pretty good OOC shell for RPers and can help you get connected. I can't give you an in myself, but if you try talking to someone like Adolar Stone, he might be able to help you. EDIT: Post #100!
