Welcome to the forums! There are at least two Free Companies that are based around Moon Keeper clan structure. They could probably answer most of your questions in that regard. Feelings about role-playing the main scenario as well as the echo are generally mixed. Some people avoid it altogether, some people jump right into it, and others like myself acknowledge it exists but our characters do not have it.

Kudos to Misha & Friends for allowing the Sworn to mediate their fisticuffs the other night. I am always leery of being drawn into such arguments because I can never know who's going to play along with the outcome, but I think the end solution was fair to everyone.

A little confused as to whether you are looking for an IC company or an OOC company that is tolerant to this theme. In-character, you'll find most companies don't really care, so that should help. Out-of-Character I would point you to Unity which is advertised as a safe place for such views.

The Second Annual Royal Ball of Ul'dah - Update (Time Set)
Coatleque replied to Erik Mynhier's topic in Chronicled Events
Crofte will certainly be there, in uniform. I can almost guarantee there will be others. Weeknights and Weekends, Eastern Time, are when I am available. -
A fair question to ponder. Whenever you make an animal/human cross such as Miqo'te there has to be a line where you say "these qualities come from the animal side, while these come from the human side." Typically in a cross-species breed such as Miqo'te, the sexuality traits are more aligned with the human aspect. If they had reverse jointed legs, six breasts, and full-body fur, then I would say it came from the feline aspect.

How would your character React In Real-Life.
Coatleque replied to Duskwright's topic in RP Discussion
If Coatleque suddenly found herself on Earth in real-life? After the initial shock wears off and she begins to search for answers, I would imagine she would step in to defend someone only to find out there is no Aether here to cast stone skin. She'd die of a bullet wound. That or get hit by a car or bus. More likely she would be arrested, wrapped in a white jacket, and thrown in an asylum by the state when someone notices her walking around in full scale-mail and a sword within the first 30 minutes. -
Crofte ages with the MSQ timeline.

[split] Cynel1's questions about Sultansworn RP and RP in general

"People are coming after Taeros. Do not be in their way." A peal of thunder seemed to shake the estate to its foundation. Two glasses barely touching rang out as the vibrations knocked them together momentarily. Coatleque spared no glance from the fire in front of her where she stood. The hearth was beginning to die down and the hour had grown late. The words were spoken to her earlier that evening as the rain had fallen around them outside the Sancrarium. Since then the hours had slowly crawled into the late of night. She had returned to Jameson's estate after her shift. In truth she found most of her nights were spent there of late, not that she could complain. It was quieter than the Hourglass, more private than the barracks, and more personal than the Still Shore. The rain had let up only briefly before the bulk of the storm arrived, and the pattering of drops against the windows was interrupted by the crack of thunder infrequently at first. They had grown much louder now, and she was certain the storm itself was just overhead if not close to it. Looking down from the hearth to the smeared ink of the article in her hand, she pressed her lips together in anger with narrowed eyes. It was easy for her to simply shrug off such libel. That was part of her job, after all. She could not, however, ignore the damage this may do to so many others. Jameson may suspect her - she was sure he would, in fact - but she had given him no reason to do so. After he himself was the target of so many other similar articles, would he even pay this one any mind? Jameson. She had gone so far as to defend the man to Roen this evening. He was no saint, to be sure, but she had yet to discover damning evidence to convict him as opposed to Nero Lazarov who was confirmed now to have ordered the elimination of innocent women and children. "Does it matter...?" "... yes. Yes it does." "Roen." She said her friend's name out loud just then. The realization that she would defend the man who committed such atrocities was almost too much to bear. Coatleque had sacrificed her own freedom to help Roen with her vengeance against Taeros. Yet it was clear that Roen had lost sight of that goal. What now did she sacrifice for? Was she even sure it was still a sacrifice? "I believe we are close in bringing everything to light. Taeros' allies and their power are diminishing..." Coatleque could see how tired Jameson was becoming. He was clearly losing ground as he himself confessed - as Roen had also confirmed. She wanted nothing more than to applaud Roen's efforts. To encourage her to strike now while she could. When the opportunity presented itself she could not do it. Coatleque turned away and held her tongue. Between the two men it was now clear which one was a danger to the city. Jameson may have his personal ambitions and bloody rivalries, but there was a line he had yet to cross. "... you are asking me to believe he will not again only on your word." She blinked away another tear as the conversation replayed in her mind once more. Another peal of thunder shook her back to the present and prompted her to look over her shoulder towards the back of the room. The suit of armor Jameson kept on its stand seemed to glare balefully at her as lightning reflected off its surface from the window. She shivered and turned back to the fire. Her hand rose slowly to bring the article into view once more. She stared at it before releasing it into the fireplace. It laid across the smouldering coals before slowly blackening from the middle and spreading outwardly in a calm orange glow. With that she pushed Spahro's empty threats out of her mind. Miss Llorn can make all the noise she wanted, but Coatleque would not be bullied into compromising her investigations. She stood there a good while longer as she watched the paper turn to a blackened and twisted crumple, and then an unrecognisable grey ash over top the softening glow of the embers. She did not know what time it was when Jameson finally returned. She was only suddenly aware of his presence next to hers. Turning, she embraced him, quietly pressing her head to his chest. Things were now set in motion that could not be stopped. Decisions were made for her, it seemed, whether she would consent or not. She would defend him against Roen's growing madness, yes, but not only because she loved him. It was the lives of those who would be further caught in the wake of Nero's wrath that now weighed heaviest upon her heart.

A power supply should last considerably longer than 300 days. I've had mine for 3+ years now. Still, this would also be my first guess given the information supplied. Advanced Tip: That said, the easy way to test a power supply is to disconnect all of it's cables, then plug in the power cord. Take the motherboard connector (the big one with 20-24 pins) and use either needle-nose pliers, tweezers, or a paperclip to touch the green pin to any of the black ones. This simulates a "power on" button. If it is working, the fan of the power supply should spin up.

When I came into the game, Anelia was not playing, Erik was away on medical leave and Natalie, Roen, and Kage were demoted to Brass Blades. I would have preferred going the mentor/student route, but the way things were going it made more sense to jump right in. Romy, Roysia, Anita, Chachanji, Aiden all want to go the the same route. That's great, I'll accommodate everyone I can as time/creativity allows! Shas went the route of "left on good terms, came back a few years later". Nyalie's background is that she's veteran to the point that she sits and does administrative work in the armory rather than standing guard. I've seen one or two others who wear armor and say they do mostly paperwork. It all meshes together in the end and I think it makes the group as a whole feel more realistic.

A really cool look at what can be achieved with Archery *Resource*
Coatleque replied to Zelmanov's topic in RP Discussion
Budget Chainmail is made by using two pair of pliers and crimping rings together in an interlocking pattern. The rings themselves are typically 10-14 gauge wire and between 1/4 to 3/4 inches in diameter. High quality chain is either riveted or soldered together at the ring's split. Each ring. Very time consuming. Either way, the rings themselves each have a single point of weakness, being the joint. It does not take much pressure from a piercing object to split the ring at the seam and spread it. This is why chain is very weak to piercing attacks. That and the fact that the chain hangs loosely means that when you do apply said pressure, the rings tend to re-align themselves allowing an easier entry point. Cutting (slashing) attacks, however, will simply slide off the rings. At that point the real damage comes from the weight of the weapon which could still break bones at the cost of dulling the edge. -
[split] Cynel1's questions about Sultansworn RP and RP in general
Coatleque replied to Cynel1's topic in Character Workshop
From a lore perspective I think it's safe to say we do not know. We know they have recruiters and that newer members are called Squires. What the RP community has embraced in the past was some in-character tests or Trials. They are completely optional, and at the discretion of all those involved. I posted more thoughts on this back here on page 4. -
Coatleque brushed herself off as well, to the best of her abilities. She gazed thoughtfully back at the open door as patrons began to take notice of all the commotion at this side of the landing. Still breathing heavily, she gave Evangeline an incredulous look. "Meet my ... no. Even if he was still here, I now have something more pressing to deal with. And by that I mean this now gaping hole." She gestured to the lift. "I must needs find the crew responsible for repairs and see to it your flare does not ignite something. This time I shall take the stairs." With that she turned to leave.
-
With no small effort Coatleque managed to shift her grip from one hand to the other, turn enough to take the object from Evangeline, then shift back to the other direction again without dropping it down the shaft. She shimmied back across the ledge to the door and with all the strength she could muster in one hand, jammed it into the crack between the doors. She tried to push on it from the far edge as one would a crowbar. A mistake that was met with the sound of splintering wood as it snapped in half and almost sent her tumbling forward. Cursing Byregot for such shoddy craftsmanship, she steadied herself before pushing against the half that remained, as close to the doors as her hand could manage. It was enough and the doors began to separate. As the gap widened, the other half of the clipboard fell away, but by now it was no longer needed. Coatleque reversed her hand and grabbed the door on the side closest to her and pulled back to open it the rest of the way before wrapping her arm around and stepping out of the lift's shaft. She backed against the wall immediately with a sense of relief before remembering the other woman behind her. Leaning back around into the opening she offered a hand to Evangeline. "We made it! This way, carefully!"

And motorcyclists who think they don't have to wait in line with the rest of us. And people who don't know how to "zipper" And people who wait till the last minute to get out of the construction lane. And people who refuse to let the 18-wheeler merge because they *need* to be in front And people who complain when others do the speed limit in the passing lane. I got news for you, the passing lane isn't the "I can go over 65" lane. If you have to break the speed limit just to pass someone, you are still breaking the law. (this coming from someone who regularly does 75-80)

[split] Cynel1's questions about Sultansworn RP and RP in general
Coatleque replied to Cynel1's topic in Character Workshop
Crofte typically does not train free Paladins right from the start. She sees it as a waste of her time since they're just going to leave when she's done. We can meet in-game if you want to discuss things in-character. -
You are right. But this is still a math class. In my day, what you wanted was the "Philosophy and Critical Thinking" course. They are two different subjects. In this case, the math problem said how do you add 8 and 5 to make 10. The boy was correct, it is not possible. The teacher only confused him by telling him he is wrong and making it a philosophy question. If the question had been worded "Using the XYZ System, how can you derive 10 from adding 8 and 5", THEN I can see the argument being valid.
-
Or, you know, we could just continue to memorize our multiplication tables like we did in the "good" old days and forget this BS altogether. So long as they can come to the correct answer to the problem, who cares what method they use?

Cinnamon is good to help regulate blood sugar. Well, maybe not regulate, but just 1/2 to 1 tsp of cinnamon causes it to crash almost immediately. To the point that it causes drowsiness even. I used to put it in capsules and take one before bed to help me sleep.
