Honestly I might do a WoD run tonight. I see that shit in my alliance I will immediately say "Yo you want a group that's got experience get the fuck out of Duty Finder and make your own goddamn group. Should be easy right I'm sure you've got a lot of friends with that wonderful personality you've got there champ."

I'd write a rain check on everything bad that happened last night - the servers were hammered. My Keeper run had a BLM that kept standing in fire because he was lagging bad and both him and the healer suffered a massive disconnect earlier in the fight. It's annoying, SE runs this game on toasters but that's a known factor. Patch day on dodgy gear will be hell for some people.

I'd wager that this will be conveniently ignored like, y'know, the Beady Eye in cities. In so far as the pact with Midgardsormr goes, think we're all jumping the gun a bit here. 2.5 isn't even close to done (two more patches!) with MORE UL'DAH MSQ COMING and likely the setup to Heavensward, which will include more Midgardsormr goodness. Also, obvious betrayal for Teledji from the 1st and 3rd unit of the Crystal Braves incoming. The setup wasn't subtle, and quite frankly I just shook my head. Ilsabard just CONVENIENTLY has his unit in Northern Than? You're doing a shady transaction with the Lalafell who's name I forget but all he talks about is how much money he's worth/making? C'mon now. On the subject of the Ascian being a dumb villain, I think he did his job - In that he was a new character made solely for the purpose of getting killed. Had it been anyone we actually cared about in terms of Ascians we'd be angry that they went out like punks, and I'd rather the fight itself (where he's frighteningly efficient if your group isn't on the ball - my group's 4 wipes to comets attest to it) show how competent he is than bumbling through cutscenes and then just groaning at our OWN incompetence.

Might just be that Midgardsormr took both away.

I know it won't happen since we're going to save the day. But GODDAMN am I cheering for Ellie and Cecy's scheme to work. Also, internally called it that Godbert's wife was stronger than him. For real though, can we... move on from Ul'dah? Like, seriously, MSQ's been all about Ul'dah and so has Hildibrand quests. YO WHAT THE FUCK HILDIBRAND KNOWS EXACTLY HOW PRIMALS ARE FORMED!?

INTERESTING. Might give me an incentive to complete fates if I'm in an area with one of them popping and I'm warrioring it up like my name was Jim Hellwig.

Wow, of all the people you could kill, you had to kill the only interesting scion? Also, dunno about Echidna, but they might be saving him for Eureka, considering both Amon and Scylla are bosses from that area and they're actually in ST. Also, yo Minfillia calm down it feels like you're coming on to me.

Keeper's fun to learn and keeps you on your toes, though not spotting a critical add on that last boss? Party wipe. I'm not touching WoD until people actually understand the mechanics and can explain them. Disappointing 3 people? I can deal. 23? Not so much.

It's not just assholes though. I've people that I routinely would call great friends and great people in general. They toss that word in most situations without regard to, y'know, anyone else.

Yah, but I'm just straight up giving up on everything. I can't get anywhere without getting carried PvE wise and crafting-wise even if I wanted to actually bust my ass and attain it, materia is the worst fucking thing ever made in this game. Like, I can deal with Atma's prior drop rate FAR MORE than fucking materia. Especially since it's for so little fucking gain.

*officially flips his shit and swears to never fucking craft again* So, think I'm just going to get everything to 50 and just stop playing since there's dick all I can do after that apparently. Yes, it only takes the OBVIOUS addition to crafting items to make me salty as fuck about this game. Like, I legitimately don't know what I can actually do anymore.

Agreed on the continuity part - The continuity is unreal as to how good it is... IF you're playing an Eorzean native. The thing is that if you're embracing the idea of emigrating to Eorzea (which is a fairly cool plot hook don't get me wrong, wouldn't have used it on my main if it wasn't!) - most of the lore surrounding the other places is not established publically yet. Which is why I'd be wary of saying I'm from the New World/Non-Doma Othard/Ilsabard etc. and starting to establish stuff. Thus, the make stuff up and when lore opens up, see if it fits what you want to do.

Also, you can just, if you don't like or don't want to be constrained by the future lore of the place, just make shit up. Worked for me so far.

if, y'know, the ideal of "math makes you want to take it simple" made its idea into the school I attended, I might not have hated it enough to hold my 20% grade to my teacher's face as a badge of honor that I gave zero fucks about her class and made off like a bandit with my high school diploma anyway.

It's not about time - none of these encounters take time, really unless you're talking early on in the game's lifecycle (back when y'all had to learn stuff) and farmgroups pop up often enough with the exception of Titan EX (for obvious reasons). It's finding the 7 people that aren't complete dingbats to do it with and then fighting off the REAL boss - RNG. I doubt this quest will lead to anything massively significant, though. Does it suck, yeah sure but eh I've made my peace with never doing coil/EXes.
