[7] After a lengthy lore debate with the writers, Square Enix has decided to rework and rename the concept of Black Magic and White Magic. [7] They are now known as "Bitch, die quicker" Magic and "Bitch heal me" magic [7] We hope this new naming scheme is not incovnienent to new players. [7] I'm a bard, I don't know about that racist magic you're talking about. [7] Can anyone [7] We also placed a buff on Foe Requiem which triggers when someone in the chat says "foe", "song", "magic song", or "foe requiem" that increases the bard's patience by 100% for two minutes. [7] This effect is doubled when "black magic song" is said or if a white mage or scholar are responsible for saying it. [7] (clearly I should work for FFXIV's development) [7] well fu. [7] We also added a new buff to Warriors and Paladins that triggers when someone in the party or alliance says "defiance", "sword", "sword oath", or "forgot+[previous statement]" that decreases the humilation by 1% every minute until you clear the boss. [7] And for the sake of balance, we decided to up the intelligence of Dragoons by 30% to test their new mortality rates. Remember kids, Jumpis the #1 cause of death to Dragoons according to the FFXIV International Studies.

[[if you want to reply to anything seen here, or reply with criticism, shoot me a PM and reply! This is generally my improvement/word vomit thread.]] This entry is dated as the Third Sun of the Fifth Astral Moon. "Ugh." The highlander puffs out, staring at the window with an empty gaze. He rolls his shoulders, stretching his large muscles and neck. The dark toned man runs a hand through his beard, testing the length. "Good. No need to shave for now." He turns in a completely perfect ninety degree angle. Purple eyes falls upon on the wall, practically stabbing into them. He silences, debating within himself. So many things happened, so many people. Everything steeled his spirit an emotions. Read as: hes as emotional as a rock. He crawls into his bed, falling flat on his face and knocking out This ends the entry for today.

Sometimes the things said in this thread nakes me worried that it might as well be borderline terrorism.

Incoming dump! It was a little chilly that day. So guess what happened right after losing utterly in the Grindstone after a grave incident. Hornet gave me a lot of luck. Poor Jancis has to hear me scream every time the bard chestpiece doesn't drop. 777 HP are for the cool kids only. And here's your daily fill on "Hot Highlanders" ft Book. Who doesn't love nerd jocks?

What is your character's Virtue/Vice?
Oscare replied to WanderingWordsmith's topic in Character Workshop
Decided too many applied to Oscare, so I went with a heavier primary one and a not-so heavy secondary virtue and vice. >_< Primary Virute: Temperance Oscare is a firm believer of balance in all things. Having too much of one will upset the balance on the other end of the scale. And unbalance leads to unhealthy decisions, regardless of how insignificant or if it was done unconsciously. It's a mindset he's developed. Secondary Virture: Fortitude Regardless on whatever happens? Oscare WILL see it to the end, especially if it's for a loved one. He will do anything and everything in his power to make sure every conflict has its beginning and its ending, no matter how hard it'll bite back at him later. Primary Vice: Greed Oscare always thirsts for more and more. He's probably as good of a sniper and hunter as he can be, trained under the best of the best and even a higher ranked sniper for the Empire, but he has a drive to discover MORE. It tends to bite him in the ass more often than he'd like it to. Secondary Vice: Pride Anyone who's played with Oscare would know that this is pretty accurate, even though I personally believe that Greed is more prominent in Oscare than Pride is. It's kind of cool that both of his virtues contradict both of his vices. They clash against each other, causing the balance he seeks. I DID A GOOD I THINK. -
Law Enforcement and the Impossibility of Playing It
Oscare replied to Melodia's topic in RP Discussion
It's funny when people think when you sign your character up to be a "police", they think you'll actually do "police" stuff often. You don't. It gets boring, monotonous, and you'll probably be hated by the community for the rest of forever. Also, everyone and their mothers would be in jail. There's a reason why we don't get handicuffs for this kind of stuff. -
I think I have to agree with the general consensus of "No one would actually be able to win". If you think about it, the advantages and disadvantages of each city state practically balance each other out. Meaning if they went to war, it'd just be a standstill. Fighting in a forest is difficult. There are trees, rivers, thick foliage, and PLENTY of places to hide. And the Godsbow don't mess around, they take advantage of every choke point and sniper spot and can pick off a large amount of people before they even get to the city itself, where a bunch of army ready lancers and conjurers can blow off whoever remains. La Noscea has the largest navy in Eorzea, so that in itself is just plain suicide. Sea forces will always dominate land forces. Fighting in a desert is also kind of difficult as well. Fighters trained to that environment learn to camouflage and attack, making it just like Gridania. By the time you actually get to the city, you'll probably have less than half the people you came in with. And, of course, Ul'dah has the biggest military of the three cities. They also have incredibly deadly forces -- pugilists, paladins, and thaumuturgy. None of those are very fun to pit against. There's also another factor -- the beast tribes. If they detect that they are being threatened? You'll bet your ass they'll interfere. Usually they're kind of desolate (except the peaceful Sylphs, who WILL fight if they feel like they're being terrorized) but that doesn't mean they'll go out of their way to slap a bitch in the face for steppin' on der turffz. And don't even get started with how deadly the Sahagins or Amal'jaa can get. The Empire is the only one that can really get around becuz MACHINEZZZZZZ. And super knowledgeable. They're always a force to be reckoned with.

Your desktop is an IT tech's nightmare... why... why all the crap software installed?! Because crap software is the only thing my mom knows about. If she can't pirate with it, then it's crap. #oops #shouldn't have said that
-
Not an in-game shot, but related! Welcome to my new desktop BG. Ignore some of the weird programs, my mom uses this computer without my permission at random times and just installs crap without letting me know. But I'm so glad there's wallpaper-able versions of this. This was my second favorite illustration from the countdown!

Oscare caught wind of certain JancisxOscare rumors. Whoever is responsible for this rumor is like 99% correct will be highfived burned on sight.

#story time I tried accessing this thread through my phone at school through its WiFi and it was blocked and flagged as terrorism. Do what you please with that information.

"A failure. This is unacceptable." Oscare lays flat on the medical bed of his free company's clinic. After resting up in the room he was so generously offered by Jancis, Oscare had a little too many things to consider. B'ren had already done away with Oscare's Warrior soulstone, but that didn't make Oscare any easier about things. He needed to better his soul and body, so the next time he beserks, he can take control of it. It'd make stronger, not a monster. Embrace the beast, accept the anger, turn it into fury. Not raw rage. All things he learned through the village that accepted him to teach him. Now that leaves Oscare with one last thing. Jancis. He grabs a sheet and starts scribbling.

I can also tank, if we are in shortage of them!

So I decided to also gather two other screenies at the other two residential districts. Oscare took a leisurely stroll through Lavender Beds! And made it just in time to enjoy a little show at Mist.

So I've been having discussions across my linkshells, skype, and free company about 'what dances do you think they're gonna put in?'. I'm fairly positive that they're going to input more dances. I'm not expecting any more this patch after Bomb Dance (which is a REALLY awesome one), but who knows? Anyway, I'm thinking of putting this thread up as more of a discussion thread. Honestly, I'd like a Spanish-style dance. Like salsa.

Have you ever considered the possibility that some people are perfectly fine with -- how you so eloquently put it -- 'trite and monotonous' RP? Tavern RP is random RP. That's the charm of it. You go in, and you come out making a new friend (or even a new enemy, which can be even better)! And some people like it like that. Some people prefer to stay out of plotlines, others prefer being in a plotline 24/7. And you know what? That's PERFECTLY fine too. You do what makes you happy. The community has its private players who only play within a small circle and avoid the forums -- and -- us, who likes to use the forums as a gateway to make new friends and find more opportunities to roleplay! That's all fine, you do what makes you happy! I understand you have your noble intentions, but your execution is slightly flawed. It's an appreciative thought though!
