Hi and welcome to the RPC! ATM, Balmung is a largely North American server, with a few FC's from the EU but generally, its five hours in reverse from where you are so if you Wanted to start RPing with the majority of people, it would have to be late at night where you're at. This is also added onto the fact that everyone who gets on in America, especially during Tuesday, will be busy trying to do their end game content early, and since most are busy grinding classes, they can be pretty preoccupied. Though if you ask for others if they are in the mood to RP, im sure they would be willing to so dont hesitate to ask! I would also recommend establishing an RPC wiki for you're character. Makes you look professional, lol.

Balmung would be the better option to RP in because people are more open to RP there compared to Gilgamesh where RP can be somewhat exclusive and elite. That doesn't mean Gilgamesh is a bad choice to go and RP on though. Both community's can be pretty welcoming if youre a friendly player! Mind the trolls on Gilgamesh though, they are in alot more abundance there and dont take kindly to RPers. ._.

Legacy means that it was a sever around in 1.0. Non legacy means its a brand new server for ARR (A Realm Reborn) 2.0 and onward.

Alot of open world RP, as I have noticed, takes place in Ul'dhal, usually at the adventurers guild. As for main RP's, its best to integrate with a group like an FC, that way you can just follow along with an established story and join in when you're character's presence is relevant. For example, I did some RP last night for the first time with my new RPFC over the IC linkshell, and my character was able to respond because she had something to say ICly that was relevant to the situation. RP is generally situational. Im not hardcore RP where I have characters dedicated to RP , mainly because my main is a mix of main game and RP, but she does however have situational awareness and if she see's something she can pitch into then she will be able to RP at that moment. In short, while its not required you join a dedicated RPFC, its a good place to start and develop ICly as a character before you branch out.

Lol, this is nothing close to a burden. We are just helpful people here and working is kinda our forte, ya know, since we roleplay. Not that roleplay is work, it just takes alot of energy sometimes. @_@

I tried logging in but the wiki says my account doesn't exist =/ Well firstly you need an account on the RPC, because this account and the wiki which all the PC and NPC pages are on are interconnected together and use the same user credentials. So basically just log into youre user account using youre credentials from this site and create a wiki page. If you are still having issues then you should contact one of the forum moderators. They will know how to fix youre problem.

Except the Stone only resonates for the Azure Dragoon, not bog standard dragoons. They are also tied into the lore of /every/ job, so to exclude them, is to exclude part of the lore of that job. I dont think many care about stone cannon and neither do I. I think it all comes down to how people want to determine the cannon and lore, and I personally dont think that the stones are very cannon or helpful to the characters that role the said job. I think im done with this thread. I think its blown out of proportion and is turning into something that I want nothing to be part of.

Yes but then it severely limits the scope of who can be a dragoon if there are so few stones. I digress but I rather prefer to exclude the stone from actual cannon because they cause unneeded conflict amoung RPers.

technically, the only reason you can use any jumps at all is because the eye of the dragon resonates with you, marking you as /the/ azure dragoon. All Dragoon abilities are unlocked through this fact. And I can't wait to play a rouge, though I prefer mauve. yes but stones dont count, otherwise we would only have one summoner, one bard, on black mage, etc. Not to mention it is cannon that non-Azure Dragoons CAN in fact use jump based attacks, though this is only inclusive to the stronger one's and only the strongest can use the fire dive jump. IMO, all jump based techniques and attacks are usable by Dragoons, its just that you need to be strong in the Dragoon ranks in order to do so. Thus, the Azure Dragoon is just a Dragoon elite amoung Dragoons who can use the same techniques and abilities but is way better at it than other Dragoons.

Hrm... this would be a specific request for a character relation based role I suppose. Right though, I am looking for someone to play a sibling role to Inessa, one she didn't know she had and her father, who abandoned her mother, sired another child with a different woman. This brother, would have to be a complete opposite from Inessa and she will need to find his practices and morals constantly in question. They dont even have to look alike also since they dont share the same mother so anything flys ATM. Give me a PM if interested.

I can tell this Dragoon thing will be of much discussion in the future, but for now, lets agree to disagree about the differences between normal dragoons and the Azure Dragoon and leave it at that because this logical argument is taking longer than it should. As soon as rouge comes out though, I wonder how many people will start RPing as Rouge or Ninja.

Welcome to the RPC! While its not required for you to have a wiki for youre character, its certainly fun to have one and for people to use as RP refrence material for forum RP's. If you want an example format then you can look at my character wiki.

Hello there! Balmung was the unofficial RP server in 1.0 and carried over into 2.0, with a portion of the community though transferring over to the Gilgamesh server instead for reasons that they didn't want to be on a legacy server. Anyways, if you want to really hang out with us than establishing a wiki for youre character is always a good thing.

@Mercu No, normal Dragoons can use the fire dive as well, only the more powerful ones though, including the Azure Dragoon, who can use it by default.

Well to be honest, there are going to be elitist snoobs wherever you go, but Balmung tends to welcome everyone, especially RPers with open arms so you will do fine here.

We just wanted to establish what the differences between the two were, and there weren't any other than the fact that the Azure Dragoon is the pinnacle of all Dragoon's and that they virtually share the same skill sets, but with the Azure Dragoon being better at using said skills than others.

Ah, but by that pretext, it means that it applies ONLY to the first Azure Dragoon. Regardless, there are no special differences between the Azure Dragoon or a normal Dragoon at this point other than that the Azure Dragoon is an exceptional Dragoon amoung other Dragoons. This could mean he/she is more powerful, smarter or whatnot. That can be applied to anything so for lore intensive purposes and generality, there is no real difference between the two. I guess the best way to put it is that the Azure Dragoon is an exceptional Dragoon amoung Dragoon's and leave it at that. ._.

I wouldn't know about that, unless you were using the Dragoon soul stone as a way to say "Oh, I can jump alot and none of you cane! :D" but then there are others who RP as summoners, sometimes with other summoners as well so that kinda invalidates the stone being needed to using jump attacks thus the stone is kinda non-lore or something. I think the best way to look at it is that all Dragoons, regardless if they are the Azure Dragoon or not, can use jump based techniques and attacks but the Azure Dragoon is special and is more powerful than the other Dragoons with the same technique. :I

It's better explained in the quest itself, but I believe the Azure Dragoon has some Super Speshul Mojo involved with him. There is only ever one Azure Dragoon at a time. Sooooo... basicall there is no difference and both normal Dragoons and the Azure Dragoon have the same skills and ability's. Granted that the Azure Dragoon would be OP and special in his own way, but generally, its all just the same skills and stuff. Sorry for taking over the thread from the OP. I am just curios as what the differences are here. @_@

Isn't Dragoon another class thats easily justifiable by lore standards? I mean, Inessa is a Pseudo-Dragoon. She has training to be one but its incomplete training, yet she has adapted her own style to her training thus making a new form of the Dragoon art. I think Coerthas has a group of Temple Knights, or more specifically Dragon Knights, and they arent limited to just one person. There can be dozens of them. Specifically, its more lore friendly to be an Elezen Dragon Knight rather than a Miqo'te, but it can be passed off as lore friendly under the right circumstances. In general though, I haven't seen any conflict/friction yet regarding city/tribal Miqo'te, but then again, I haven't RPed with enough people to notice yet. In general, if youre character is a Miqo'te then they are classified as either City or Tribal Miqo'te so thats generally the best way to explain it. Tribal follows tradition while city doesn't have too, and often doesn't.

You will find youre luck on Gilgamesh server for RP short in supply. Alot of the RP community there is very reclusive and tightly nit, due to the fact that there is friction between the regular players and RP players of the server. Balmung tends to be much more open to RP. In fact, I would dare to say that 80% of the server is RP based. Really though, RP on Balmung is alot more open and anywhere you go on that server, there will be alot more open RP then on Gilgamesh. I will say though that the RP community on Gilgamesh server tends to be much more developed and rich in content, so really its a quality versus quantity issue. Balmung has LOTS of RP while Gilgamesh has good RP, not that Balmung has bad RPers though, its just that Balmung has alot of RP's going on, so really Balmung has quality and quantity while Gilgamesh just has quality.

I would do just that but that would be very out of character for Inessa being near the city-state where she is generally considered an outlaw but not officially since she didn't really commit a crime that would force the Yellow Jackets or the Maelstrom to detain her, since she sort of butchered a bunch of pirates in a horrible/very violent fashion. ._. (Maybe if she wore a mask though then she could be all incognito and nobody would be the wiser.) Also, sorry I didn't make it on Thursday. Ive been very busy trying to get into my FC's RP circle and grinding for gear/levels for my low level classes/tomes and I haven't been able to do anything. Dx
