Hello, and welcome back to the RPC!

balmung Looking for MORE connections :)
LiveVoltage replied to Faustina's topic in Chronicled Connections
Inessa really loves her Chocobo as well, though her Chocobo is a war chocobo. I guess Inessa's knowledge in armor as well as its links to Chocobo barding generally leaves her with the knowledge of how to make a Chocobo well protected. Inessa also knows how to maintain a proper diet for her mount, who is called Garus, so generally her Chocobo is always in mint and top physical condition for anything. ._. Give me a PM if youre interested in this characters knowledge and interest in Chocobo's. -
My characters whenever I make some, usually draw influence from whatever I feel like drawing from at the time. I find that drawing from characters that dont have any IRL influences are usually more fulfilling to play out, but thats the inner fantasy geek speaking. Really, its just boring adhering to real life stuff and stereotypes and it adds a flavor of drama to characters that you wouldn't find on others that draw from real life insparation as well.

"Ugh I need to update my character's Wiki"

My wiki page updates are a bit sporadic but they tend to update whenever Inessa develops a significant connection with another character or something big happens and things about her change. Either way, my wiki is up-to-date at any rate, partially because whenever im ready to start RPing for the day, everyone is off doing trials and stuff. Note that I am ready to RP at about 9:30pm and finish RP at 11:30 so if anyone wants to involve me in something then send me a /tell because im not doing anything yet apparently RP wise in my FC. ._. EDIT: Also, if anyone can help explain to me on how to paste a picture of my character on my wiki without it taking it 500% of the entire screen then that would be helpful. I tried it on my own and failed miserably. Dx -
Yeah, art can wait, home is more important.

Old to Rp, New to this Forum. Salutations!

Still, I generally wanted to make this a point as these are need to know things specific to FFXIV, not all RP in general, but I digress. -
My little diversion I did cause I was a little bored.

Yeah but still, all this networking stuff is very confusing to me. Its probably the thing that I have the most trouble with. I have any trouble with. ._. -

There not really so much as actual rules but more of lore and story friendly stuff that I had explained to me a while back when I was setting up my character wiki. Generally, there are certain roles that cant be filled in by the writers, such as being one of the warriors of light from 1.0 that participated in the battle of Carteneau, or being a Crystal Bearer who led the charge into the Pretorium in 2.0 and slew Giaus and the Ultima weapon. general story specific things that people tend to avoid or outright consider not to play the role as all together. I specifically dont know the reason why though but ive pretty much played and built my RP character around this knowledge, and then again, these are just a few of the side rules that arent considered rules but sub rules that people frown upon if violated. not that I expect them or anyone to enforce them but the rules I mention are just general character rules lore wise as well as story initiative wise and whatnot. Players have to be careful as to how they tread, since a lack of lore for this game leaves alot of stuff up in the air and when developers come out with new lore and content, this content may conflict with player lore and the entire RP just kinda falls apart when their cannon is broken, unless the RP is centered around broken cannon, then nothing is broken I guess. Sorry that the post is in a clump. ._. -

Well im still learning so im not mad at being shown I was wrong. Im pretty bad at networking and im still trying to wrap my head around it, lol. -

Well yeah, people are pretty big about their anonymity on the internet. I mean, I can only find the server address right now. I wouldn't be able to find where everyone's private systems actually were unless I had direct access to the server and the list of IP addresses that it actually interacted with it. I digress though but its not that extremely difficult to find this stuff out. -
So I decided to do this little thing as a project and see what results I got. As some of you may know, im currently learning about networking in my Desktop Technician program and I wanted to figure out where the physical location (server) that this website was being held on so here is what I did... I opened my command prompt, running it with administrator privileges. and typed the following commands being displayed in the code as follows and the follow up results from the commands I put in... C:\windows\system32>nslookup ffxiv-roleplayers.com Name: (of the server the look up is sent from) Address: (youre server's address) non-authoritative awnser: Name:ffxiv-roleplayers.com Address:192.185.16.72 (this is the actual phyisical hosts site's IP address.) c:\windows\system32>tracert 192.185.16.72 After 14 hops later from tracing the route of the IP address I put in the very last command, it let me to a physical server address located somewhere out in Washington state. There wasn't an exact location listed but it did list the ISP that the servers were owned and maintained by so if I did a follow up check on their physical servers, I bet I could find the ACTUAL location of the server the site is hosted on. Isn't technology amazing?

Inessa would play the Piano or violin. Seems right up her ally for some reason. ._. Maybe electric violin if the Garlean's have magic powered musical instruments.

Oh, I know that much. I never just read into it too deeply. I assumed it was like, "Hey, u wants to join a guild! Okay! btw, there r these other guildz you should go take a lookz at for sh1tz and gigglez." Never thought too deeply into it, but you tend to overlook small details in the grander scheme of things but I digress and recede from this thread. Peace.

@lillith Its a little different. Aside from a few extra rules and need to know things, its generally the same as a forum RP. -

Welcome! As long as you know the RP etiquette for FFXIV then you will do just fine. ;D -
I probably will seeing as how I have nothing better to do. Honestly, I can never get immersed and tend to not mind which form of RP and the direction goes. I know that seems like a really bad trait for an RPer but I cant get immersed for some reason or anything specific when it comes to active time RP. Maybe if it was forum RP but not active time, BUT I digress so ignore most of the whining in this post.

its not a time zone problem I would say... its more like me having to decide if I can devote three whole hours to RP. I know that the way im putting it is a bit self-centered, and I apologize because thats not the intent im trying to come across as, but it just makes more sense to do the final part of the RP on the forum, because then it gives us time to make detailed posts as well be able to effectively communicate with each other before a post goes up. I mean, I dont mind doing like 90% of the event IC in-game because it allows our characters to come to be familiar with one another in an appropriate setting, but for the last 10%, free form forum RP writing would be like a logical choice to optimize how epic of a battle it could be because it forces us to use our imagination on a grander scale then looking at a chat box in active time. This is my reason behind the idea though so meh...
