1. I'm writing a little novel of my own on the side, as well as a few RP scenes I've had. And my six favourite characters? Are the ones that die. All for the sake of the story. Each death had the rest of the characters getting stronger and better, more mature. And I absolutely hate looking at their death scenes. It hurts me in my heart zone. One of the ones that died was this big bad bad-ass that one of my friends' characters had the "pleasure" of killing. He laughs and cheers, I sob and whine.
2. Jokes on you! I use my Shift key! HAHAHAHAHA~! But, uh. Life. Feelings. Emotions. So many, many, gods-be-damned emotions just overwhelming and apparently, finding group therapy is fucking difficult in such an elitist little town where "TROLOLOLOL, EVERYONE'S PERFECT, WHATCHU' TALKIN' 'BOUT, WILLIS?"
3. Syndicate/Bourgeoisie The Royals (Sultanate) The Immortal Flames (Blades, Torches, Sultansworn) Adventurers/Merchants/Petty Crooks Proletarians Refugees I think as far as K'washi is concerned, he's probably at the bottom of the ladder. He has no citizenship, and he does odd jobs and things. There's not much money to his name (though he's become much better at saving). Hasn't been taxed yet, though. But that's probably 'cause no one can ever really find him. He's a quiet little one, that Seeker.
4. BALMUNG IS STILL OPEN. Alts. <3 6:38 AM PST: Closed. :c
5. I miss attending Grindstones. Shame my managers want me closing on Saturdays now. I'LL RETURN ONE DAY. I SWEAR IT.
6. K'washi Amada is my lil Seeker derp. K'washi is just an alternate version of his original name, Kouwashi. He's normally a human of Eastern (read: Japanese) descent. It was my attempt at making a name meaning "Blue Eagle," with the help of a friend of mine who was studying Japanese at the time. Further research indicates I've probably missed the mark a bit. Amada, I'm sure, is familiar. It's the last name of the main character in the 08th Gundam series' main character. Back in GW2, the player of Kou's best friend would always introduce him as "Master Kouwashi Amada," since he was acting guild leader at the time. He hated it, but the name stuck. He doesn't officially have a last name, since he's always been an orphan.
7. This would pretty much be it for K'washi. It's pretty flighty, and so is he. (Dis be extended version, so fair warning) sffPwPFyhCQ
8. Customers that seem to expect you to cater to their every whim and desire for their $5 meal even though your shift was over approximately 30 minutes ago and your boss wanted you off the clock yesterday. Seriously. If something is out of stock, and the worker is obviously frazzled and in the middle of doing something a little more important than your not-actually-gluten-free-corn-tortilla, maybe you could... I dunno, have a heart and not be a demanding prick? *breathesheavilywhileburyingfaceinhands*
9. SO. MUCH. LORE. EEEEE... I'm going to enjoy reading this very much. Thank you so much! <3 And thanks to everyone else! Y'all rock!
10. I suppose there is that. I just like learning and I'll be honest, the XIV RP community can make me a tad nervous sometimes. I never know if something I'm doing is such a big No-No or if people simply don't care (admittedly, a problem that is a WIP). Thank you to the rest of you. I'm enjoying reading a lot of this, even if I don't have much to say. ^-^ The Garlean tidbit, I learned very recently. I also don't RP a Garlean nor do I know any Garlean RPers, really. ( ;w; ) I'd always thought aetheryte crystals were rarely used by anyone that wasn't, like... a mercenary or adventurer or what have you, since it makes most normal people sick.
11. This... is significantly more helpful than what I've been doing. Huh. I'd been thinking this whole time Thaumaturgy uses surrounding aether, but I guess thinking back on it, that wouldn't make sense, thinking back on the THM storyline again. Hrm. So aether in high concentrations is bad. Thaumaturgy can't be used with people who have low aetheric levels because it uses lifeforce. What about the melee classes (GLA/PGL/MRD/ROG/PDL/MNK/WAR/NIN)? Don't they kind of use aether as well? As far as I know, MNK uses Chi (which I think is compared to aether?) and NINs use Mudras (which are... ?????? as far as I know). Sorry If I'm reading too much into this, I'm something of a lore junkie.
12. Eleni seems like she's got a lot of wit and playful banter, and that's a trait I genuinely enjoy. There's too much seriousness in the world for there to not be someone to make people smile. You got it, Eleni! If in doubt, just, uh... compliment his shoes? Can't go wrong with that!
13. So, I'm more or less searching for answers. Perhaps I'm simply terrible at finding them myself, but I can't seem to get a solid understanding of how aether works on a personal level, and how individuals tap into it to cast spells and such. What I know so far: Conjurers and Thaumaturges (I think?) draw upon the elements Aetheric levels can be low enough to prevent one from being able to cast spells Drawing upon your own aether (aka, your life force) can lead to death. NOW. I don't know anything beyond that, and I'm eager to learn. I'm also apologizing in advance if this is a thoroughly-researched topic that someone has written about in detail somewhere (Google is not my friend, and I'm somewhat challenged in the art of the Google). What I'm also curious to know about is: How do your characters use aether? Is it easy or difficult for them? How do they react? Are they all fine and dandy, or are there some negative side-effects that go along with it? Edit for teh ModBros — I realize after posting this that this may technically be the wrong forum for this? If it is, I apologize. Move it if it is. Imsorrydontgroundmeplz.
14. If Squeenix could VERY KINDLY MAYBE FIX THEIR SERVERS ONE OF THESE DAYS SO THAT THE ENTIRE PACIFIC COAST DOESN'T GET SHAT ON AT PEAK TIME, WHICH IS EVERY TIME NOW, that would be great.
15. These two are... certainly an odd couple. We still haven't quite figured out why they love each other so much. The studious, scholarly type with the mischievous, trickster type. Zana'to actually helped teach K'washi his grammar. With cruel, cruel lessons involving much reading and many flashcards. K'washi gets back at him by beating him in fights, though.
16. I wanted to run Ampador Keep with a tank, 2 heals (one WHM, one SCH), and a DPS once. I as all pumped thinking the SCH or WHM could hit cleric stance and DPS the hell out of things. ... The DPS was a major buzzkill, however, and it never happened. The sad part is he's from my FC. ... What if I want to do stupid things with friends, bro. Imeancomeon Letmebestupidplz
17. Apparently, all K'washi has to do is wiggle his ears and his tail, and poof! He's got a mate! His pick-up line was something along the lines of "I'm into ." He might have also called him a cruel teacher. ... I have absolutely no idea how he seduced his mate.

E V I L.

I've got Naois Faller. A Highlander Pirate Lady who just so happens to be the Captain of her very own crew. She'll do just about anything. Murder, thievery, etc. Definitely Evil with a capital E (also Krazy with a capital K). I guess we'll call her a Hand for Hire? Then there's K'washi Amada, aka, my lil miqo runaway. He's trying so very desperately lately to find out what happened to his tribe as he wants to reconnect with them. And his morals are a tad skewed, plus he's fairly easy to lead down the wrong path. With the right amount of push... (I dunno what we'd label him here, honestly).
19. What kind of stories has your character gotten into? Not much, really. Only really one, where three of his friends were basically split up by crazy madness, and K'washi had to be the one to make sure no one lost their gods damned sanity. Then there's the adopted brother's crazy mother that's messed with his head on a number of occasions. How has your character changed since you rolled them (Or if you have been here since the beginning, since 2013)? Well. K'washi was illiterate when I made him. Couldn't read, and he couldn't write. He only had the clothes he was given as payment for his service with a particular sailing crew. Now, however, he is perfectly literate, and he has more than two shirts! What has been your favorite RP moment this year? Easily, when he learned that he now had an adopted older brother. He got so confused and didn't know how to react. He was so very, very happy though. What was the most shocking RP moment this year? ... Mrrh. So far? When one of his friends that he's never seen upset ended up bursting into tears. Has your character made any mistakes? K'washi came very, very close to losing an old friend because he failed so hard to deliver a proper message. Also, Grammar. He can't grammar for shit, man. What was the most surprising thing you found out about your character? He somehow knows exactly what to say to people to get them to calm down. Like. I don't even know how that's possible, because K'washi is so... K'washi. What relationships did your character build? Lessee. He's got an adopted brother now, several friends that are now close friends, and a mate. Any relationships that fell apart? Nope! Thankfully not. What are you looking most forward to seeing in the future with your characters growth and story? I want to see where the world will take K'washi. I want to see how he'll react to finding his tribe, and how he'll react if things head south. He seems like a fighter, so I can't see him breaking so easily. But I can't wait to see how he'll mature.
20. Wait. Back up. ... When did autoblaming a DRG become a thing? Has this always been a thing? Why is this a thing??
21. Ugh. Squeenix. You're killing me here. My internet is perfectly fine. It is so fine, in fact, that I can play other games while my family insists on streaming Netflix. Something on your side is very decidedly not. I pay a sub fee to play a game, not to facedesk as I get hit with lag spike after lag spike after lag spike while there's literally nothing else BUT FFXIV clogging up my bandwidth. ;-; (Even my patience has limits.)
22. It was hard to maintain a simple look when Adeya stepped back. Amusing, she found it, especially with that look she was getting from the miqo'te. The pirate quirked her head just so, lolling it to the side. "Ah, lass," she replied. "If I told ya, I'd 'ave ta kill ya. An' tha's jus' askin' for problems in a place like this." She took a long drink from her mug, tipping her head back. When she took it away from her lips, a delicate little smirk stretched itself onto her face. She looked down on Adeya, still much taller even sitting down. "Ki'ens sure are small," she remarked. "'specially th' ones 'round Limsa an' Ul'dah." Naois let out a chuckle, raising the mug to her lips once more. "Ah, I s'pose I can mention tha'. Been trav'lin' ta tha' desert city, recrui'in some o' th' refugees. They're lovely workers, when ya entice 'em with promises of riches and glory. Some o' the best crewmates I've 'ad in a long while." Vaguely, she wondered how many buttons she'd have to push to get a reaction. Or, for that matter, which buttons. Her First Mate had always warned her that her constant toying would get her in trouble one of these days. For now, however, she couldn't care less. She enjoyed it.
23. It's not just bots, actually. I think people were hacked during the last maintenance as well, as the gil seller names I've been seeing seem to be more human-like than random gibberish. That, and I've had a friend earlier today had their account shut down and their characters promptly deleted because "they were selling gil." Whatever happened in this last patch, it seems to have opened some sort of hole in the network.
24. 1) As I was leveling White Mage... I was placed into a Brayflox run with a tank so bad that they had less health than I did. And I wasn't even level-synced. Didn't communicate, didn't ask questions, didn't understand why he was dying, didn't listen to anything we said, and didn't understand that monsters being sleeped shouldn't be poked. Many deaths were had. Eventually we kicked the guy because holy crap, how can anyone be that bad? We thought he as trolling, but I'm pretty sure he was really that bad. Q_Q 2)Then another time in... what's it. Stone Vigil? The tank didn't use Flash, didn't keep agro off me, and kept insisting he was doing fine and it was the rest of us that were doing terribly. That one ended up rage-quitting. I was so relieved that I all-capsed in party chat:
25. What would I have to do in order to apply K'washi for a job? =O Edit because, lol, I really need to read and not skim things. >>
