I have seen a few people (unfortunately I don't recall their names and would be hard pressed to find their posts, or else I would get them for you) who were interested in the whole leveling IC experience, so that's something to keep in mind while you choose whether to keep the old character or go with the new. Too, there are some rpers who are very shy, and who would appreciate leveling buddies for a consistently ic leveling experience without having to go out and find them -- though, as ever, speaking up can be hard for this kind of player.

Maybe post what you're looking for in the connections forum -- I'm willing to bet there's a few other people who might be interested in this sort of thing. Just be patient and persistent.

Pfff, I'm one of the slowest levelers out there, and what's more is that there are new players signing up all the time who are also rpers! So don't worry at all on that account if you do wind up making a new character. Welcome back! People are super friendly and stuff, and as someone who has remained in the lower levels, I've never had it be a problem during rp -- no matter what level the people I'm rping with are.

I did enjoy reading it! The quoted bit I particularly liked, and I'll flat out say that you intrigued me with it. I very much look forward to seeing how you portray this in character, and through the various situations he is sure to get into. Welcome to the RPC, hope to see you around!

This season? Sure! Zankyou no Terror. I am obsessed with the soundtrack. And the character designs. And the animation. Aldnoah Zero -- year of the mecha! Ao Haru Ride -- romantic shoujo/josei is my guilty pleasure. Captain Earth -- ehhh, it's something to watch Glasslip -- because Nagi was a trip to watch. Though some of it got super irritating towards the end. RE:_Hamatora. I'm a masochist who likes complaining. Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun. If it can't keep up the humor, I'll be dropping it. Sailor Moon Crystal. Sailor Moon was the veeeery first anime I ever watched. Yup, I'm Toonami generation. Magic High. Because the lead reminds me of the lead from Darker Than Black (but a little less awesome). That and I like complaining about how creepy the sister is. I might start watching Tokyo Ghoul and there was another horror one that sounded interesting, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I recently watched Michiko to Hatchin and I have to wonder why it took me so long to watch it. It's set in South America, has some lovely character development, a wonderfully jazzy/latin soundtrack (not something good enough to make me want to listen to it on its own, though), and, well, it was wonderfully entertaining to me. I probably watch way too much anime. I keep it carefully hidden from most people who know me irl, though (excluding close friends). edit - LOL, Berrod. Yeah, I couldn't stop watching Kill la Kill and I don't know why, and by the time I was ready to be done with it I felt like I HAD to finish it to make up for what I'd already watched -- like, well, I'm close enough. It is definitely. . .unique.

I think with RP it's important to remember that everyone has their own idea of what is fun, and not everyone is going to find the same thing fun. That said, if you are ever uncomfortable during rp, put a stop on that shit. Seriously. Not cool. IC things can turn to OOC things, and if you let it go on it can get nasty, fast. Best to draw the line asap. If they feel they are having a difficult time finding a rp partner, direct them here, where they can post a nice ooc ad for their character and get the sort of response they are looking for. As for me, generally I find functioning, healthy romantic rp relationships to be boring. Generally. I do tend to find them more interesting when my character isn't in them (I have some favorite rp couples I quietly root for), but overall I like to explore platonic (or tension filled, or weird, or quirky, whatever) relationships that aren't romantic. Of course, whatever happens, happens, but there's a reason I tend to build characters that other characters have a hard time feeling attracted towards. All of that said, I've had some pretty errr. . .strange conversations with strangers. Depends on the setting, both in person and online. Buuut, at the end of the day, if people are having fun then power to them. I just won't be participating if it isn't my cup of tea. edit - as to your problem, I had to dial back my initial response, which was "DO YOU WANT ME TO HAVE A CHAT WITH THEM? I WILL HAVE A CHAT WITH THEM." *cough* but seriously, if you need some help tactfully pointing them towards finding someone who will reciprocate, I'm open. There was one time where this young man (15) did not properly tell us when a woman who should not have approached him period was being inappropriate with him oocly after their characters got together icly. Thankfully nothing bad happened, but it could have really not turned out well for him. I still kick myself for not catching it.

<3! Hahaha, it does sound like some lighthearted fun. If it's like an ooc ic thing (where it doesn't impact other rp) I could totally see signing up for it (had thought about it a bit) . . .unless it is on the weekend of the 2nd/3rd, as my grandmother (turning 90, still miffed her kids won't let her go out skiing by herself anymore) and aunt will be visiting. I don't get to see them often, so I promised them the weekend.

/shot I hope to get all the logs!! It's been there since the beginning? .....did I forget? .........I'll be in my corner. (don't mind me, just airing out my derp)

Woo, good for you! I am saddened I will not get to play with your lalafell, but rl >>>> game, and it sounds like the break is for the very best reasons. Best to you, and if you ever get the itch to write some forum rp. . . *coughcoughmemememecoughcough*

Just remember - you can always go back. In the meantime, welcome to Balmung!

So I haven't read this thread for many pages and somehow it morphed into burgers. I am not going to find out how. I'm going to let it remain a delightful mystery. (you guys, seriously) (also when this event happens post some of the rp up so I can read it like the creeper I am <3 )

Jingi was surprised, despite herself. She'd not expected the man to be, well, good. She'd been prepared to offer tactful compliments, or at the least an awkward smile should he truly lack even the pretense of skill, but she found there was no need. She was captivated by his music. Where his compliments had put her slightly on edge and teetering towards uncomfortable, his music enticed her. She couldn't help the smile that curved her lips when she thought how easier it was to be entranced with him while he was playing, rather than paying her far too close attention. Easier still when a few passersby drifted closer to watch him play. There was spontaneous, scattered applause when he'd finished. Jingi participated, blushing all the while; she was not used to being companion to someone who attracted such attention. It was. . .different. She took a step back, unsure of herself as some of those gathered called for another song.

"You're killin' me, Lilikuso," the man growled, shooting a sharp glare at the smaller man. "An' you -- you wanna complain? Must be tough shit, comin' on our turf an' waggin' your tongue like a blimmin' schoolmarm. Take him t' see Hitchins, I'm sure she'll love t'hear all about it. In her office. I'll cover your patrol while you're gone." He glared at the Cap'n before stalking off. Zhi's heartrate had sped during the exchange. She had no idea what the two sodding idiots in front of her were doing, but luckily for them it'd worked. At the least, it was exciting. Exciting meant fun. She gestured for Flit to show them the way.

Thank you so, so much for everything you do. You're seriously a wonderful admin. Never leave. (wooo, go us! breaking things with traffic like a boss!)

on the back of all that excellent advice, welcome! You should make yourself an introductory thread so we can properly welcome you to the community.

I'm addicted to trashy urban fantasy (romance) novels. Even still, there are some that I will never, ever ever ever read. MY STANDARDS MIGHT BE LOW BUT THEY'RE STILL THERE, DAMMIT.

First, kudos to Ruru for being so positive and keeping me moving along (and giving me someone to chatter to while I'm trying to keep stuff organized in my head). And for continuously rping with me. Kudos to Hutarin and ShayRei for being patient, wonderful souls who are also a blast to rp with. And I really want to offer kudos and a shout out to two relatively new members of the RPC community (at least I think they're pretty new, right? >>) -- Miza and Razz. Seriously. I did some brief pms with both of these lovely people figuring out how our characters interacted before (we worked our characters into each others' backstories), and then threw them into rp. No hitches. Completely smooth. Both of them are excellent, and if you can see your character interacting with them, definitely rp with them. You won't regret it!

Calling all Yellowjackets (Brainstorming and Discussion)
Zhavi replied to Melodia's topic in RP Discussion
I'll be sure to keep him busy. Nyahahahahahahaha. (*cough* being serious though -- yeah, that is really good advice. ) -
In a similar vein. . . I once stayed up all night rping with someone. During this time I had Professional Griefers by DeadMau5 on repeat. We wound up rping for 14-16 hours (I honestly don't remember) . . . .that song was playing the entire time. It just suited the rp so well. I still listen to it to this day.

*looks around* *keeps looking* Bwahahahaha!!! Sorry.....I couldn't help it. :cactuar: Friends and family never ceased to be amazed at how easily I get lost. Laugh it up, fuzzball! If I ever seem like I know where I'm going in game, I'm just pretending. Chances are I'm frantically glued to the map making sure I'm going in the right direction -- especially during rp.
-
The only place I feel competent in is Gridania, and even then I still use the map. I never close the map anywhere. But, well, I forget where I parked at the grocery store, too, so it's not terribly surprising. Oh, and uh . . . I'm going to leave the poll open for a week, after which time I'll start checking interest to get some . . .things going in whichever location gets highest votes. If it's a tie we'll do a re-vote. The second and third highest places will be longterm goals as far as seeing increased rp goes; never hurts to have a few areas to check for rp, but that won't be for several months away (and anyways, that'll likely include extra-city hubs within La Noscea; Mist, Costa del Sol, Bronze Lake being some of the ones named that seemed to resonate with people). Cheers, everyone. Thank you so much for your participation and banter. I really, really love seeing it. <3

that npc reminds me a little bit of disney's gaston, just with different coloring. Zhi is such a bad influence.

Suspicion scoured her. There was some pleasure there, of course, but it had its edges -- and going by her posture, she was feeling them. "How long have you been playing your harp?" Her voice was overbright. She turned them down another street, started up a ramp that would take them to the upper decks.
-
The grin faded. "Yer feckin' wi' me," she said, jerking her head back as his hand landed. Not enough to dislodge it, however. Her ears went sideways, and she glowered up at him from under it. "All yer doin' is breathin'. Hhh? There's a letter fer breathin' now, too?"

Haha, ah well, sometimes even seeing that people agree on the same thing can be very helpful! (or maybe it's just that I like getting to know more people >>) Re: yellowjackets . . . Ruru is actually trying to start something like that! Yellowjacket brainstorming thread. I think it'd be super neat, too.
