  1. Weaver won't go out if even her ankles are exposed. Its that conservative Ishgard culture.
  2. Such cute couples, Weaver has her book, I guess.
  3. I'm honestly surprised there aren't more drunks afoot! The Calamity seems like a pretty traumatizing ordeal.
  4. Wouldn't you like to know? Join the Plumbers' Guild today and find out this as well as: Waste disposal's role in the creation of morbols! How to access the forbidden Toilet Aethernet! The Plumbers' Guild's role in dumping accumulated waste on castrums via airship!
  5. What is evil but a construct or a label? True evil generally requires some of degenerated mental status or bad writing. Perspective is everything! With a minor change in perspective, The Warrior of Light becomes a deicidal murder-hobo bringing about the end of all beastmankind and licking the boots of the political elite of man.
  6. A good starting point for comedy is the 'funny drunk' archetype. You can have a morose, no nonsense businessman of a character who, upon drinking, becomes a clumsy oaf who is more likely to put a foot in their mouth than on the ground. I do this with Weaver, who drinks to cope with stress. As for evil, try not making them directly evil. Try for a neutral or even good person who has a very unpopular motive and work from there. Perhaps he robs people to sustain ailing family, or believes submitting to the Garleans will be less devastating than resistance. (Doma anybody?) A villain with depth tends to have arguably defensible goals. As for myself, I cannot play non-human/hyur characters. Races in most settings tend to be very restricted in lore and character direction.
  7. Tallera has a severe antipathy for elezen due to her history in Coerthas. She also has an extremely niche hatred for people who fit a very specific military brass archtype. The sort of people who see grunt soldiers as statistics and act tough from their cushy backline position.
  8. Tactical Cowardice: Tallera can cast spells while facing away from the target. Facing the target randomly procs 3 seconds of fear. 10% bonus damage.
  9. Hand to hand. Though I guess boxing more than MMA? I dont care though. Unarmed brawling is what matters. Have you not been taught the ancient lalafell martial art of Fu-Fu? You can master many debilitating techniques such as Giant Forehead Strike, Teeth at Crotch Level, and Shin-Go-Crack. Tally drives herself into asthmatic fits from crying. She probably should not sign up.
  10. I know exactly what you mean! That said, this can be used sparingly to give an overview of the character without outright statement. A friend of mine cites the Garleans as a dislike but not demons or evil or Bahamut or whatever. He is Doman. He really hates them! The key is to diversify! My character hates elezen, dragons, itchy clothing, sand and the color orange.
  11. I don't really understand the question. Anime is extremely diverse, and while it does have recurring tropes it has genres just like any other media. As long as your character is respectful to the setting there is no problem. (i.e. he is not throwing galaxies at people and piercing the heavens in a giant mecha.) I'm sure your character is a delight. Welcome aboard.
  12. If its getting necrod we might as well talk the subject. I might just have a confirmation bias but it feels like tons of characters are from Ishgard. Like, LOTS. I set it as Weaver's home because I wanted her to have baggage, and I think this is a common reason. Ishgard is an awful place. Terrible weather, food shortages, a military casualty rate brought up so often it could very well rival WWII-era USSR. Also the dragons! Also the zealotry! And Ascians! Tldr; Ishgard is perfect for tragic backstory. Too late to go back on it for this character.
  13. You mean Halone? Halone is great... Oh... Those other ones are okay too. I guess...
  14. For Tallera? I already HAD DnD stats! Huzzah! Str: 8 Tally is a shut in through and through. She was training to be an astrologist! Dex: 13 Tallera is not naturally agile, but is used to busywork. Magic or no, everyone had to pitch in once Coerthas froze over. Con: 12 If your constitution is weak the snow will destroy you! It is currently lowered due to malnourishment. Int: 18 Tallera's power stat. She does magic! And math! There's not much lore on the training methods of astrologers but they are probably robust! Wis: 9 She has a limited worldview and is quite young. Ishgardian culture has made her xenophobic and narrow minded. Cha: 14 Tallera's ignorant innocence seems to have made her affable in the eyes of Ul'dah. Her lousy history and sad anecdotes give her a pity bonus with many.
  15. Tally! :bouncy: *poke* *poke* *poke* Good to see you on here. Also.. Don't believe anything they say about me on here. It's all juicy lies. "And now, back to the thread!" Since I'm slightly RP impaired, perma-death is a bit too over the top for me. Unless I made an alt for story purposes. Honzo! Decided to join up here so i can shoot the breeze at work on my phone. All I can do is hope nobody tries to kill anything more than weaver's spirit.
  16. I would not permadeath Weaver and here is my reasoning. In a tabletop setting one can reroll a character very quickly. Instantly even, should you use a randomizer of some sort. In an mmo I spend a lot of time getting levels and acquiring a lovely wardrobe and home. Killing my main just seems too counterintuitive for my tastes. That said my friends and I will often make alts who die in hilarious and unfashionable ways. The friend who invented this running gag has almost a hundred confirmed alt deaths.
  17. Tallera would use cheap pun versions of her standard spells as limit breaks. Although she's a huge coward and would probably flee before ever limit breaking at all. Level One: My Asthma: Tallera is so out of shape she can magically inflict her frailty upon others. All foes affected lose their next three spellcasts to rampant wheezing. Level Two: Sigho: Tallera's next Bio cast infuses the target with excessive apathy and broody angst. The target will spend its next six commands contemplating the futility of it all. Or writing dark poetry. Level Three: Ruin Everything: Tallera attempts to vanquish her foe but drops her grimoire instead. Hundreds of Ruin projectiles miss the target, forcing it to spend it's next ten attacks or spellcasts laughing at her.
