Oh heck, I had said April 9 but next Spellguard is actually JUNE 9-- in other words, tomorrow! Hope I didn't confuse anybody.
-
A previous champion team has once again taken home the gold tonight! Congratulations to Azrat Lariss & Tarixxian Voren! Our next event is scheduled for June 9! See you then!

Ugh, running late from work >< I'll be online asap! Sorry for the inconvenience! Hopefully it will be a very rare occurrence from here on out. o+

I'd really like to thank the Crystal Chronicle once again, especially their fantastic artists, for the effort they put into reporting on our server's events. <3 Heads up! Spellguard is tonight at 10 PM EST! Once again unfortunately I won't be showing up until about 15 til because of work, but on the plus side I'm done with my preclinical observations for school so I no longer have to work strictly night shifts. Hopefully from here on out I won't be having as many night shifts on Fridays. \o/ See you there!
-
Four teams entered Spellguard tonight, and half of our entrants were lalafell, which is more than acceptable! Tonight's champions are... S'kye S'yoponi & Zigovali Rigovali! Congratulations! Our next tournament is on May 26! See you then!

Oh my goodness! What a pleasant surprise! The art is beautiful! As always, I'm humbled and completely grateful to you guys for covering Spellguard. I love the Crystal Chronicle and the flavor it adds to our community.

Three teams entered tonight, so Spellguard took place tonight in the ever-interesting triangle formation! The battle was very close, but our victors tonight were: Edda Vincents & Byldaigeim Tutylwyn! Congratulations! [picture unavailable] Our next tournament will take place on May 12th! See you then!

Spellguard's on tonight in just under an hour and thirty minutes! Come on down early and say hello! I got sick at the elementary school today, went home early and called into work haha yay so I'm actually here now

The 28th Spellguard tournament draws to a close! Five teams entered tonight, and I believe each match ended with a score of 3-2, which made for some very eggciting and tense battles! Congratulations to the champions, Azrat Lariss & Tarixxian Voren! Our next tournament is on the 28th! See you then!

Oh man, I just realized I need to put more Spellguards onto the calendar!! Rest assured, Spellguard is tonight! (... after I get home from work... u_u) Shopu has a special Hatchingtide prize in store for tonight's champions, and some minigames and door prizes for teams that have just lost (if they wish to hang around) or are waiting for their next match (to kill some time)! She's scoured Eorzea for the finest eggs!

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) for your character-Just for Fun
Shoshopu replied to Lady Whiteraven's topic in Fun Prompts
Technically the 16personalities system is only based on the MBTI, and isn't technically the MBTI. But either way, I always pick a MBTI type for my characters when I first create them, before I start RPing them, because it helps me keep their characterization consistent. If you're going into the MBTI (not 16personalities, but the actual MBTI) the real meat of it is the cognitive functions, of which each type has a distinct combination of four. Any generic description of the types is just a stereotypical description of how these four functions tend to manifest, but the cognitive functions are what really help you figure out what motivates a character and drives their actions. It's a little window into their actual thought process. But since this thread links the 16personalities quiz, I actually did this the other day and made one of those "tag a bunch of tumblr people to do this too" posts on tumblr about it. :V Shoshopu - “THE CAMPAIGNER” (ENFP-T) “The Campaigner personality is a true free spirit. They are often the life of the party, but unlike types in the Explorer Role group, Campaigners are less interested in the sheer excitement and pleasure of the moment than they are in enjoying the social and emotional connections they make with others. They tend to see life as a big, complex puzzle where everything is connected – but unlike Analyst personality types, who tend to see that puzzle as a series of systemic machinations, Campaigners see it through a prism of emotion, compassion and mysticism, and are always looking for a deeper meaning.” Eaubront - “THE ENTREPRENEUR” (ESTP-A) “Entrepreneurs always have an impact on their immediate surroundings – the best way to spot them at a party is to look for the whirling eddy of people flitting about them as they move from group to group. Laughing and entertaining with a blunt and earthy humor, Entrepreneur personalities love to be the center of attention. If an audience member is asked to come on stage, Entrepreneurs volunteer – or volunteer a shy friend. Entrepreneurs are the likeliest personality type to make a lifestyle of risky behavior. They live in the moment and dive into the action – they are the eye of the storm. People with the Entrepreneur personality type enjoy drama, passion, and pleasure, not for emotional thrills, but because it’s so stimulating to their logical minds. They are forced to make critical decisions based on factual, immediate reality in a process of rapid-fire rational stimulus response.” Eaubront actually started life as an ENTP, but ESTP generally fits him quite a bit better. ENTP and ESTP similar in some ways, but their primary and inferior functions are swip-swapped, so they have a couple fundamental differences. I guess the way I'm RPing him has shifted over time. I always had a difficult time wrapping my head around the ENTP's objectivity when it comes to emotional situations, anyway. I'd be halfway through an emote and I'd catch myself thinking, "Wait, no, he wouldn't think to say that..." -
Hooray! I'd like to thank the Crystal Chronicle for their interest and support! :love:

Home from work! Spellguard's on in 15 minutes!

Spellguard is tomorrow night! I apologize that I again have the night shift at work again this week, so I won't be around until shortly before the event starts (and I'll be sure to check for patch downloads and stuff before I leave the house, if it's at all possible for me to). For the next couple weeks I'm spending all day at an elementary school for college, so I have to work closing shifts at work on weekdays, please forgive ;;

discussion [Spoilers] 3.56 MSQ Talk spoilers here.
Shoshopu replied to Kage's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Maybe it's just me really wishing we'd finally get an important Roegadyn male NPC (or even just a regularly reoccurring Roegadyn in general who doesn't die one patch later) but I just don't see it. His beard even grows like a Roegadyn's. He doesn't look that different. If he does turn out to just be a big hyur then I'll just eat my hat, and my feelings -

I'm pretty sure he's just a Doman Roegadyn who looks "so different" because he's a Unique Character and because he's Doman, not Hellsguard or Sea Wolf. Doman Hyur are supposed to be their own clan apart from Midlanders and Highlanders too, right? I'd be kind of annoyed if they just made an important character with a generic model. As an aside, I'm almost convinced the funny black nose the Hellsguard have is makeup or something anyway, because Solkzagyl's a Sea Wolf and yet he has the nose (and I'm miffed the lore book doesn't even touch on that, or take the opportunity to point out if he's mixed-clan) -
So sorry again for the late start! Thank you all for your patience and understanding! :love: After making their debut at the anniversary tournament, Hells' Angels came back for more, becoming this week's Champion Spellguardians! Congratulations to Edda Vincents and Baeyl Teken'ghym! Our next tournament is scheduled for March 31! Same time, same place! See you there!

Okay, I didn't know there was going to be a patch and it's going to take 30+ minutes for me to download it. I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience! ;___;

Hello, everyone! Spellguard is tonight! Just as a heads-up, I have the closing shift at work tonight so I probably won't be home until just before the event begins. But don't fret! Just hang tight and I'll get the event rolling as soon as I'm home!

What's the secret to getting things sold on Balmung's MB?
Shoshopu replied to Drej's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Alternatively to selling things in stacks of one, check out what recipes your item is used in and sell things in the smallest amount needed for a recipe that material is commonly used for. Say, for example, you've got some kind of ore that you need 3 of to make an ingot. Sell them in multiples of three. Just don't sell them in huge stacks, especially in stacks that aren't even divisible by the amount buyers will actually need them in. Buying individual items in stacks of one can be time-consuming (as well as taking up a ton of space on your retainers), especially if there aren't enough stacks of one to match what you need and you end up needing to buy more than you need anyway. So for another example, imagine for this ore I need three of, at the lowest price there's 1, 1, and 5. But there's a stack of 3 at the second-lowest price that would still be cheaper than me buying the stack of 5. I'll usually go for the stack that I need instead of buying that larger but cheaper-priced stack and reselling what I don't use because that's more time- and space- consuming. So take a little time to research what you're selling and see how many are already for sale, and in what stack size. -

Six teams entered our special anniversary tournament tonight! Each match was hard-won and full of excitement, and at the end of the night, Spellguard XXV's champions were... Subtle Raptor & Giovanni Faust! Congratulations to you both!! Thanks to some kind donations before the beginning of the event, each champion was awarded an extra 100,000 gil and their very own adamantoise, the mascot of our event! Thank you very much for your contributions! I want to thank everyone who's attended Spellguard, contributed or donated to its prize pool, and not to mention all of my friends, for making this event a success! We couldn't have done it without you! Here's to another year of magical tactical combat!
