Three teams came out to Spellguard XXIII, and so the tournament was carried out in a single round of the the three-team Triangle Formation! It was a very close match all around, with each team down to a single shield left, but two miqo'te rose victorious this evening! [align=center] Congratulations to Jihn'a Gahre & Kyt'ir Jakkya! Spellguard is tonight! I'm not out there yet because I'm whipping up some chocolatey treats for everyone (the longer version of the story is I came home from visiting my folks today and only just got my computer hooked back up about 20 minutes ago) but I'll be out there for early RPers soon!

Why is Spellguard crossed out, Warren :< That's more like it! > I'm going to echo everything Warren has said here. I've personally gone to him for advice many times since I've started running Spellguard, especially at the beginning. Consistency is key! Something that might not have been mentioned (since the Grindstone is never wanting for people to participate, haha) is to never be discouraged by small turnouts. Especially if participation starts out strong and then tapers off later. It's natural for it to wax and wane, especially during long lulls between patches when less people are playing, or during the holidays. It's another facet of Warren's mantra, "Run your event for the people who are present, not for who is absent." Only concern yourself with who is at your event, and not who isn't. As long as enough people are there to run your event, well, you've had an event! I'd be happy to brainstorm with you sometime or answer any specific questions you have, if you happen to reach me on your journey to reach out to others who run tournament events. I really, really like the pet tournament idea too, and if I didn't already have a tournament and a tavern that I help run, I would totally take that idea and run with it.

Spellguard is tonight! I have the closing shift at work tonight so I won't be around until about 30 minutes before the event begins. Don't think that will be an issue since that's when most people show up anyway, but just as a heads-up!

Okay, but I was actually being serious here. He says he's willing to become a demon/monster/etc in order to utilize the power of the eyes, and from what I've read the other translations seem to corroborate this intent as well (in French apparently he even says 'to enjoy their power'. He's not gonna enjoy it if he's dead, so to speak). He means to turn himself into the powerful being he desires.

The first Spellguard of 2017 is tonight in an hour and a half! The sketches from the last Spellguard are almost complete. I meant to finish them today but something came up that ended up taking most of my time this afternoon, but I've spoken to both of the winners about it! They'll be up and posted here soon!

Burrich came by the Beast and Barrel on Sunday and brought friends, so I only thought it fair to return the favor on Eaubront! I wasn't expecting, like, the entire FC so I'm sorry if things got kinda crowded. We all had a good time, though!
