I would like to appeal this. The thread was generally very civil, and those who got uncivil were warned by mods, and also called out by the userbase. The most unpleasant incident happened out of the jurisdiction of the forum. Surely you aren't planning on policing people's activity on skype? Second, even if SE doesn't see it, it's good for all of us to have a place to get it out. If we feel comfortable doing it here, we should. It's cathartic. Please, do not try to control the discussion on this website. I like it, and would like to continue using it, but I won't if I'm going to be told what subjects I can discuss, even if I'm following Rule Number One.

On a lark, I started looking at other games. There's a cyberpunk MMO in the works called Exile Online. I check out the game features. One of them is player apartments. >mfw

This entire thing, summed up in one neat sentence. I'm pretty pleased, I get to take screenshots of a sweaty Highlander slinging an axe over his shoulders. What's a housing? Dude, have you seen the Monk stances yet? Guys go into a pose that makes them look like The Rock, and women drop into Horse stance. Looks awesome.

All of this could have been averted if they had said "Look, we've got a lot on our plate right now. Given the resources we have, and the great things we are planning, it just isn't in the cards right now. We're sorry that we can't provide this right now, but we will consider it once we are able to devote enough resources to it to make something we think you'll really be happy with." Yes, people would cry. You can please some people sometimes, but you can't please everyone every time. And sure, hindsight is 20/20. Is it strange that I'd rather have nothing if that's the alternative to mediocrity?

It's not the personal housing that's killing it for me. It's that with this I'm concerned that SE is backsliding into the bad old days. They've been really good about being open with us about the game. What happened here? I think it's reasonable to be concerned about that.

If they were more open with us about it, I wouldn't be as mad as I am. I thought transparency was SE's new thing now, with Yoshi-P at the helm, going out of his way to keep us updated. Up until now I've been extremely impressed with just how transparent and community focused they've been, and with this I feel like they've gone back on that entirely.

I really don't think just "no" is a satisfactory answer. He had the chance to say "Player house pricing will be commensurate with Free Company housing", and chose not to.

I don't think you can pin the blame of disappointment on the playerbase so easily. Yes, we were fed very little information. What information we were fed was bad. The only quote we were given on prices was "More than 850k". OK, sure, the prices are more than 850K. Given the fact that even FC housing began at prices well above 850K, it's not a stretch to think that 850K was more than just an arbitrary number. They had to be pulling that number from somewhere, right? Otherwise why even bother quoting that specific number? If the number's no good, why even bring it up? I'm seriously curious why it's our fault for being mad that SE over this. I'm just getting started on taking the economy side of this game seriously, and this is making me wonder why I should even bother. I just need to take some time off and seriously consider my future with this game. Not just because of this housing thing, but because I thought SE had turned over a new leaf, especially when Yoshi-P is involved, and that they'd be a lot more open and honest with us. I guess they were wrong. Anyone up for some Payday 2?

I didn't expect to buy a house right away. I'm poor, but savvy, and I can save up money over time when I need to. However, I expected for SE, and Yoshi-P especially, to keep their word. Everything they told us about personal housing was a lie.

The idea of Dogberry living anywhere but close to warm, sandy beaches is laughable.

OH MY GOD NOOOOO DOG REALLY LIKES HER He'd probably ask Storm and Rhi if any of their research on Tom yielded any leads on how to reverse tempering. Then put her down easy. He would seriously consider giving up his quest, but ultimately decide to not let her death be in vain. Dogberry will likely die at the hands of the sea itself, or facing a similar force of nature itself. It's also entirely possible that one of Dog's many casual flings might do the job. I can only guess as to what their motive would be.
