Where the Wandering Gather... "We come from all walks of life, from different background, different social tiers... Each has their own story, their own reasons for what lead them down our path... How it started matters little enough, it's where it ends that matters most..." ~ W'sano Bajihri So here you are... for whatever reasons fate has lead you to our door, we won't ask and you don't have to tell. Who you are now doesn't have to be who you've been... We write our fates with our own hands, and refuse to let others dictate how the story goes! Misfits, rejects, loners, idealists... all are welcomed to join us at our table. So pull up a chair, a stool, or prop up against another patron and enjoy a good meal, a cold drink and listen to the tales spun by those around you. No one knows whom they'll find gathered at the "Wanderer's Lantern"... One can be certain of a few things... the meals are good, the company's better and nobody here judges another because none of us are what we seem...

May I say how much I love this thread? And Steel... OMG!!! Where are you and how do we get together to eat?! If you want something super easy and not terribly expensive to make try Italian Wedding Soup! I live with three men and they eat it up! It's nice for those cold days in the winter because it's good and buttery without the butter. Please forgive the lack of true measurements. I'm Italian, we don't measure anything. Also, word of warning, this makes a LARGE pot. Italian Wedding Soup Ingredients: Bag of meatballs either beef or turkey (Or you can make your own. I buy the giant bag of it Italian Style meatballs and use every bit of them. My guys won't let me even think about turkey so I don't know how well that actually works) Spinach (I use the large box but it depends on the eaters you have) Mushrooms (Traditionally doesn't have mushrooms in it but we all like them so I add them) Minced Garlic (We use a lot but go with what works for you) Chicken Bullion (I use a full jar of the Better Than Bullion you can get from Walmart but this is going to be to taste. I really like the flavor so I put a lot in it) Italian Seasoning (To taste) Crushed Red Pepper (Optional and to taste) 2 bags of Acini De Pepe (This is a little pebble type pasta. I've found them at Walmart and Publix) How To: Fill a large stock pot (or two) with water. Put in your chicken bullion, minced garlic and Italian seasoning. If you like it a little spicy, you can add some crushed red pepper. Bring to boil, tasting periodically to make sure your soup is how you like it. Once happy with the taste, add your (thawed) meatballs. You can pre-fry these in a pan with a little olive oil if you like your meatballs to have a little crunch. Let this cook for 10 or so minutes in the boiling water, just enough to get them heated through. From there add your mushrooms and then spinach to wilt. You can now put on simmer or super low to keep warm. In a separate pot boil water for your pasta. Cook as directed, usually around 5 minutes. Once done, drain and then rinse with cold water. This pasta absorbs even after it's been cooked so shocking it a little will help prevent too much absorption. Put back in pot. Your meal is complete! You can scoop out separately or mix all together. Your choice. Just remember the pasta will still absorb some of the liquid so don't be surprised if you have no soup the next morning if you add the pasta while the soup is still fairly warm. Trust me... I was shocked the first time I had forgotten to shock it and just mixed... We had yummy pasta though! Hope you all enjoy!

I love it and know they will too! Thank you Uly! It will be a nice wedding present for them both.

Name: Ereshkigal Atropos World: Balmung Character main class/job/role (Optional): Healer, more specifically SCH Cards (recommended): Strength, The Sun, The Star Reason for Card choice (recommended): Strength: The description of the card makes me immediately think of Eresh and Kuru. If anyone has ever met Kurumimi Kurumi, they'll understand why she would be the lion in this case. Eresh tends to be Kuru's balance, stopping her from blowing up things, taking people's blue eyes and other such destructive behaviors. They're best friends, knowing each other's strengths and weaknesses and balancing one another out. Many a person has said Kuru is unruly and uncontrollable but with Eresh she's not nearly as violent or homicidal. She has the patience to deal with some of Kuru's rages and the compassion to look past them to the reasons why and understand the person within. The Sun: I see Eresh holding some of these traits. She is ever the optimist even in the face of great adversity. She's also very much focused on success and seeing things through. IC, she's become successful through her trading and reclamation skills. She typically has a warm smile for those she meets and is very welcoming to all. The Star: Hope and spirituality are the big ones I see. Coming from a sea going family, she is very spiritual. While she doesn't flaunt her beliefs, she keeps an alter in her private chambers both in her home and on the family's ship. Her hope ties in with her positivity. In her mind there is always hope for something better, a hope that not all is lost and the storm will pass leaving behind a field of flowers. Also please include 1-3 screenshots

I don't know about detouring it but you could leash train him or build him an enclosure on a porch where he can be outside but is still safe. Our cat is interested in going out the back door and I just shoo him back inside but your baby seems more determined than Rhaps. The enclosure would give him a way to be outside and still give you guys piece of mind. You could build or get something alone the lines of a rabbit cage or one of the tall, multiteared cat cages to put out there.

I would like to be put on the list. I think your art is cute and would love to have one.

So excited for the new heal class! I can so see Eresh studying that! *squee* I'm also loving the flying dragon mount!

I've seen it and had it happen to me. I played a very sexual character in TOR and automatically, people thought I was that way OOC. Once they found out I not only play a female but actually am one... yeah, it blew up from there from females not liking me OOC because of it to the males thinking they could Skype me and get a little something something. I loved playing Pina but have avoided such characters here because of the negative attention it caused. When I was single, it was one thing and easily ignored. Now, I'd rather not have to explain to my fiancee the BS coming from IC/OOC confusion.

I would so do this! I'm more consistent with forum RP anyways so this works great for me! I'm game for any amount on two characters: Eresh (main) and Ulani (an alt in progress).

Eleni, I do know how you feel and what you go through on a daily basis. I have an autoimmune disease myself. I have Dermatomyositis which, like lupus, is a connective tissue autoimmune disease but is also a piggy back meaning I'm likely to get other autoimmune diseases as I age. I've also been tentatively diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome but have never had the testing because it's supposed to be painful, expensive and treated the exact same way so they said not to bother. My disease showed up at the age of 20. I went through 6 doctors in 8 months before anyone knew what I had. Then I fought for three more months with a rheumatologist who told me I couldn't have the disease because I was too young even though all the tests said otherwise. I then went through three of those before finding one who did right by me by putting me on the correct medication and dosages. I'm currently unmedicated so day to day is more of a struggle than it should be. It can be very difficult to admit that you're not feeling well or that you can't do something. I'm very independent and to admit that I can no longer put the dishes up or have to wait for my fiancee or brother in law to get home so I can make dinner because I can't move the boiling pot of water from the stove to the sink practically kills me. They are both wonderful because they understand what I'm going through and are accepting but a lot of people aren't because I don't necessarily look sick. I look strong and hale while inside I can barely move because of the weakness and pain. I can't be outside for any length of time because it feels like a cactar delivering 100,000 needles to my skin and then I feel like I've had sun poisoning for a day after. Some days are better than others. I've discovered that I enjoy the smaller things, the things that most people don't even notice anymore. It amazed me how good it was to be able to walk up a flight of stairs after a year of not being able to do it. A kiss from my love and a meal I was able to make by myself mean the world to me. I don't feel like I take for granted things as often as I did and I am more optimistic. I try to see the good in life even when it's very clear a storm is coming. It might be raining now but that rain is cleansing and healing so once it's gone, everything will be better for it. Hell, even one of those crappy cheeseburgers from McDonald's can be heaven. I know I'm going to be sick as a dog from it later but it tastes so good... I enjoy it while I can. It's those things, the small every day things, that keep me going. They keep me positive and moving. I refuse to lay down and let this thing control me. When I was first diagnosed, my dog Radar kept me going. He needed me and in reality, I needed him more. Now I have my family and our animals to keep it going. They need me so the days when even my own well being isn't enough, they are. I will admit it's nice having friends, though, who understand. My mother was diagnosed with the same disease three years after I was. We can discuss what's going on and it helps. I extend the offer for you to come to me and talk. If you want to PM me, I'll give you my Skype and we can build a support system. The same goes to anyone else who may be going through the same thing but not want to say something publicly. Please feel free to hit me up. I'm always willing to chat. I hope everyone has a wonderful day and can find the beauty in just one thing to brighten your day and maybe even someone elses.

Love your work! Hopefully I can catch you when commissions open up again. I have a few friends who I would love to do this for them as a gift!

Thank you guys so much! I've taken notes and am going to try some of this. I'm hopeful that maybe I'm just in a rut and some of these will snap me out of it. You guys are the best!

I've had this character for about six months now, only three of those have been with active RP. In that time frame, I've had very little connection to her and my desire to RP becomes less and less. I've played this type of personality before, had a blast doing it, and am not understanding why I can't seem to get in the groove of it. I know RL issues affect my desire to RP but I used to find it a release where as now it feels like a chore. She's my main so I want to be connected to her and want to find the fun I had with Agrippina in SWTOR but with Eresh here without all the sluttiness. So my question is this: How do you connect with your character? Do you write things about their current activities or their past? Do you do random mini RPs to get in the swing? What helped you want to and feel invested in your character? Thanks so much in advance!

Eresh was a Miqo in the beta for 2.0. When I started playing again earlier this year, I made new characters on a new server and made her an Elezan. I liked the way they looked and have always played elf type characters but hadn't played one on here so I went with it. Once I realized how hard it is to get a character on Balmung, I changed Eresh back to a Miqo because I really, really like the way they look.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XVIII Q&A Updates
Reshie replied to Kage's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Kage, I don't know you but your posts made me laugh and forget about my sorrow for the lack of Ishgardian housing. I think I like you! -
I want to thank everyone for replying thus far both via the post and in PM! I've looked up all the FCs and sent your information to the whole group. We're going to take our time to look everything over and try to RP with the different groups before we make a decision. We truly want to be as good of a fit for your FC as the FC is for us. I want to thank you all for the warm responses and thank anyone who will add to this after. It shows how awesome this community is! Thank you, thank you! I'm looking forward to RPing with everyone soon!

UPDATE: Unfortunately, we've been informed this FC will no longer be active. Please feel free to delete this page.

Hi, all! We're a group of friends who are looking for an RP FC. Yes, we're a part of an FC but we've just been told by the leader that he's not coming back for a long while. None of us want to lead and have all agreed, with his knowledge and blessing, that we're going to move on and try to find something else. We have a core story (we're moving it to a LS) but we're more than willing to work ourselves in with your FC and help in any way possible, both IC and OOC. You'll be gaining a minimum of 5 active people, as in we're on everyday running things and RPing, with the possibility of a couple more if they choose to come with us as well as a couple of alts if they fit. We'd be interested in hearing from anyone who thinks they could take us all. We would like to do our research on your group and have you interview/chat with all of us, IC and OOC if you'd like. We want to make sure we're as good of a fit for you as you are for us. Please feel free to PM me or find me in game as Ereshkigal Atropos. Thanks so much in advance! Side note: A member has insisted I mention something about being all about the base or bass or something. *shrugs*

I and my FC would be greatly interested in this! We're all crafters/gatherers of some sort and would love to make contacts within the community!

I tend to be bad about character names... I'm one of those people who almost has to have the personality I want before I can pick a name (and yes, I can spend days agonizing over it). Rarely do I use lore names because I tend to be a big mythology buff and pick those type names. I've found a lore name generator website but this was after I made my characters. For most names, I look at behindthename.com! I LOVE that site and it's so helpful for coming up with names because you can type in meanings and look up different origins based on what you're looking for!

Welcome!! I play two characters in the game, Ereshkigal Atropos and Adelina Lee, both in various stages of leveling various jobs and crafting/gathering classes. If you'd like to RP or discuss character development (or anything really), please feel free to message me! Also, Scholar is my main so I'm more than happy to answer questions, give out my secret not so secret macros and so much more! As Steel said, this community and the site itself is very helpful and they have all kinds of great advice and brainstorming ideas for new characters. I'm on here daily now looking at all the new content and reading up, expanding my two based on some of the things I've read or questions asked by others. Once again, welcome and I hope you enjoy your game time!

balmung Groups/Chars for Cultural Research & Preservation?
Reshie replied to QueenFrejyalen's topic in Chronicled Connections
Sounds great! I'm good to look up all kinds of stuff for the RP so whatever works works. Looking forward to it if you get it going.
