Alright I need closure on prosthetics, and sorry for suddenly barging in with a completely different subject on the topic. As somebody who RP's what is essentially a cyborg, I've been using the bare bones I'm given through Garlean-related quests and stuff pertaining to the Ironworks. I know Dogberry's got legs going on, but I gotta get into the inner workings of this sorta thing. Trying to avoid the whole "Well it's magic" answer in favor of something more rational? (Kind of dumb to ask for in a fantasy game, but you know what I mean.) tl;dr how do prosthetics work in a lore-friendly way that isn't just a peg-leg, but a fully functioning limb? Hopefully some lore-hound would be able to help me out so I can buffer Flynt accordingly. If not, a generally agreeable consensus on what could work. Thanks.

Now I'm unsure if any of you have tried to run a dungeon in-character before, but it's tons of fun, and I'm making this linkshell to make these runs easier to organize. Essentially it's an IC linkshell that any adventurer may tune into; unaware of who's on the other side of the pearl. Here you may hook up parties OOCly and run a dungeon, acting as if you were popped in like a PuG, completely unaware of whom you're running with. This could provide some interesting RP interaction and even form some in-character teams in which others may compete with for funsies. I drew inspiration from the short scene in the XIV opening FMV: Where these guys just pop in, seemingly unknown where they are or who they're with. [align=center]IC Info:[/align] [align=center]Essentially your character picks up this frequency at random, noticing it has a different feeling to it. By accessing it you also use the pearl as a means to teleport to any random (or predetermined OOCly) dungeon/trial in a dream-state with others users of the shell. By no means are the actions of the events canon (Meaning you can fight Ultima and not have to worry about it effecting lore as the WoL did, its purely dream sequence). Interactions between party members are canon, dying in a dungeon/trial is only a dream-death, etc etc. The experience carries over back out into the 'real' world, and sometimes gil, tomes, and assorted other loot pop in your pockets as reward. [/align] [align=center]OOC Info:[/align] [align=center]Whatever happens in the dungeon/trial is purely up to you, you and your characters can make the experience canon for all I care, that's all between you and your party. There is no established leader, no guidelines other than basic manners and whatnot. It's for fun, not serious RP. There's no 'lore' or backstory to the linkshell, it's merely a pseudo game mechanic that can be used for RP. So don't bug me about it. It's dream sequence for that reason. Oh man I do too much IC fights to even count the score. I think I'm pretty equal, if not my wins only slightly outweighing my losses. Best fight was probably with either Nataru or Reiner. Worst fight would be any fight people actually took seriously. Like fam not my fault RNG hates you. Two Grindstones under Flynt's belt, one on another unnamed alt from around last year.

As somebody who RP's an anti-mage character: Give credit where it's due.

Flynt dabbles in cybernetics, prosthetics and anything akin to it. Although all construction is done by the lab boys he commissioned in Revenant's Toll. All he knows is what plugs in where and how to fix it. All details are his nerds' work.

That aparently need to be there to stop certain groups of people from being assholes, as aparently some people can't help themselves. Report=/=warning. As has been stated many times. If you don't trust the mod team, why are you here? You don't get to decide if the thing someone is whining about is dumb or not, they may very well have a legitamate concern that you are unaware of.
