"You want to sign me up for what?" I guess I'll sign up Y'lani for this, to contribute to the surprising lack of women in the auction. I may not be able to attend, because my schedule is inconsistent, but... we'll see! Character Name: Y'lani Kalihd Tell a few things about yourself that might interest bidders: Lani is a very open, wonder-seeking, tribal Miqo'te. She sees a friend in almost every person that she meets, be they Roegadyn, Lalafell, or even both! However, her brash and blunt nature is more than enough to scare a fair amount of people away, as this is a woman who acts before she thinks. What sort of date are you looking for?: One thing to be noted is that she doesn't understand love, and is signing up for this purely out of curiosity. In fact, she is so far up the spectrum that she mistakes love for breeding urges, and is mystified as to why people celebrate and sing about it. Y'lani would be most comfortable with a friendly date - something like, "let's get to know each other and be friends!" Is there anything you absolutely will not do?: No ERP, and I want the line between OOC and IC actions to be firm. Lani would state that she wouldn't want to do anything especially "intimate". Who do you want bidding on you? (male, female, both, etc): She is actually my first heterosexual character! Not that she knows it yet. She doesn't have many male friends, so that'd be a way to advertise.

First of all, welcome! There are a few linkshells I could recommend, but I don't want to advertise! The Tavern has been helping me immensely with finding people who also like to roleplay, but I'm sure there are many other amazing linkshells out there that serve the same purpose. The Linkshells tab of the forums is a wonderful resource to find the type of limkshell you're interested in. As for Free Companies, my recommendation (take it as you will) is to join a PvE one as you level until you find one that suits your character for the long-run. Just my two cents! I. Basic Info Characters:Y'lani Kalihd Primary character:Y'lani Kalihd Linkshells:The Tavern, Lynxfang Pride Primary RP linkshell: None yet! II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium-heavy is my definite preference. I dislike being in-character all the time, but when I roleplay, I am dedicated to making my characters as lore-abiding and as realistic as possible. Views on RP combat and injuries: I enjoy it! I'd like to be asked before Y'lani gets a limb lobbed off, and I'm not one for graphic torture, but RP combat and injuries can be a fun thing to roleplay if you're willing to make compromises. Views on IC romance: I think it's not a bad connection for two characters to share. Since my character is a Seeker of the Sun, she'll be hard-pressed to become, gasp, monogamous, because it's a part of her culture, though she does have a fairly innocent attitude regarding romance considering the fact that she believes love is simply a momentary compulsion to breed. This probably stems from the fact that she is very much against having children, as well as... er... her culture doesn't help counteract that assumption. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I love non-romantic RP! Feel free to be my character's enemy, her friend, her sister (with permission), an acquaintance, etc. This is the main dish to roleplay, without a doubt. After all, you can't roleplay with yourself! Not to mention that family helps build a character up. Views on lore: I don't mind if people don't abide by it as long as they're happy, but... since I personally do my best to stick to lore with my characters, it also means they're likely to see you as a nut if you say you're a fairy princess. If you're ever worried that I believe you're breaking lore because of what my characters say, all you have to do is send a tell! I don't bite. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): /linkshell can be in-character or out of character, /say is in-character unless specified otherwise, the orange text (shout?) is out of character, /yell is in-character unless specified otherwise, /em is in-character unless specified otherwise, the pick-and-choose emotes that the game gives us are out of character unless in an RP. Aysun has talent with the character creator. It can't be coincidence that her character is gorgeous in every screenshot. Teach meee! The player herself is brilliant - because she always has a witty comment up her sleeve. If she weren't a part of the RPC, I would find myself laughing a little less.

Hi! I'm fairly late, but welcome to the community! I started out as a lurker too, and I know it becomes a lifestyle until you finally decide, "Wait, why don't I just make an account?" I read your wiki for Yhah'a and I giggled a bit at the OOC commentary. I think our characters would get along, despite her being a very tribal Seeker of the Sun. (Or they might not! And that makes for fun roleplay, too). She also has a very WIP wiki, which I've been fretting about, so if you're worried about yours - we can fret together! I'm not on Balmung yet because of the current restriction on it, but I'm eyeing maintenance tonight for another stab at it. Yep, that's because you have files set in place in the code for pictures that don't exist! Once you swap those out for real files, you won't be tagged for that anymore. You can add tags by doing this: at the very bottom of the page! That's exactly what I needed! Thanks! Thank you! The infobox would look very odd on the template I'm using, but it's a great thing to know should I choose to have any future characters.

I've just posted a Work in Progress wiki for Y'lani, complete with a tag for broken file links. How do you update the tags, anyway? I'm liking it right now! Still stuck on the "Personality" section (and I know her personality, too!) since descriptive personality blurbs have never been my strong point. Me: Oh, yes, is... very strong-willed! Now here is all of her flaws! Friends: You only listed her flaws, with the exception of strong-willed. Me: I-I did? /goes back to edit it, can't think of anything/ ... She just has issues, okay? Friends: /sigh/

Yeah... my boyfriend is debating shelling out the bucks for us both to transfer, but I want to try maintenance before he does anything like that. I'm tired of waking up in the mornings, but I don't want to throw away his money, either. ;-;

When is the maintenance on Wednesday (in central time)? I can't find it on the Lodestone, and it's my cheat attempt to get into Balmung.

I hear waiting until just before maintenance or right after maintenance (this might be a bit trickier) usually works. If that's not your cup of tea, Gilgamesh also has their own roleplaying community.

Mondays are usually no good, but try in an hour anyway. Is that right? I'll keep an eye out, then!
