1. This exactly. If you accept non-50's who will soon be 50's that want to end-game, I'm all up for an invite when that time comes!
2. Kurt/Ramomo-chan is both a great roleplayer and a wonderful person as well. He looks out for people and makes sure they're happy before he thinks about himself, and that I find that to be such a great trait in a person. He's also silly with his nicknames, pffaww! I can't express the weirdness of that with mere words, but it is super funny.
3. My senpais are... Cliodhna, Gegenji and Sounsyy. i'm sorry, clio-senpai! my secret is out ;;;aaa;;;
4. The Scratching Post The Scratching Post is an OOC linkshell dedicated to lore discussion and roleplay connections for miqo'te who lead more of a traditionalist lifestyle. We accept anybody who has a miqo'te that continues to hold onto their cultural values, be they Keeper of the Moon or Seeker of the Sun. This includes adventuring miqo'te who refuse to let go of their old lifestyles, instead taking pride in their past. Rules: Only miqo'te characters may join the linkshell, unless they are the alt of somebody who mains a traditional miqo'te. Roleplayers only. Medium and heavy roleplayers preferred, but only because this type of LS is very lore-based. No trash-talk. Be kind and courteous to everybody whether they share your opinion or not. If it truly angers you, compromise. Interested? The Scratching Post is a new linkshell as of February 21st, 2015, so I'm hoping we can pull some people in! No matter what timezone you're in, you're welcome here. Just send a private message to Y'lani Kalihd for an invite!
5. Bryn is a doll who gets around... a ton! Her posts on the RPC are often vibrant and helpful, and I admire that greatly.
6. Heya! I saw you today! Have you taken a look at some of the roleplay connections linkshells? I'm in one currently, and it has been a lifesaver ever since I decided to join it. I recommend The Tavern, Open RP, Heavy RP OOC, as well as a few others in the linkshell hall. I'm also here to hit up for roleplay whenever, whether you follow an EU timezone or a NA timezone. I'm on a lot, and my times are inconsistent, so it works out! I hope this gets better for you. I sympathize, and I hope Clio and my suggestions help.
7. Valentinoix! This guy is great. 100% recommend. Good roleplayer, too!
8. The title explains my question fairly well, but I will elaborate on my stance to make more sense. I play a character from a Miqo'te tribe that severely distrusts outsiders. They know Eorzean because of their roots, being a splinter of the Jaguar (Y) tribe, but in general they speak in a tribal dialect to better engage with only other tribe members. This is one of Y'lani's many trials; her tribe is absurdly cautious, for the more acquainted with the outside world she becomes, the less they feel they can trust her coming back to the tribe. Her tribe's dialect has driven her to only know Eorzean in bits and pieces. Except I don't know how plausible this is, and I was hoping for more lore on the subject. That's about it! I don't want to retcon her, but I do want to learn more about Eorzea's different dialects and languages, and if hers... works. I have not used her dialect in roleplay, nor do I expect she will - but I would like to keep her scattered dialogue until she better learns the language. What do you all think? The question isn't exclusively for my own character, so feel free to dump as much lore on dialects and languages in Eorzea as you can!
9. For Y'lani: Arachne Shirt of Striking (MNK) Saurian Shirt of Striking (MNK) Blue Bird minion (not a priority) female RP connections. oh my gosh. LANI NEEDS MORE FEMALE FRIENDS. That's about it. EDIT: Thank you, Merri! I'm elated.
10. This event was one of the most fun ones I've been to in awhile! Should you host another, I'll be there, even if my character only watches next time. Loved it!
11. Hi! While I can't offer a Free Company, I can offer my character up for some roleplay. Not only that, but if you scroll through the linkshells area of the forum, there are some amazing linkshells filled with people solely there to make more roleplay connections. I'm in the Tavern, but I also recommend Open RP and the Heavy RP linkshell led by Sastra. I'm on my mobile, so I am sincerely sorry for keeping this so short and scattered! If you'd like to know more about my character, my wiki for her is below, and if you have any questions, the RPC is incredibly capable at answering them. Trust me, when I was new here about a month ago, this forum was my saving grace. I hope you find that Free Company! I believe there are a few ads for them around the site.
12. I love these so much! Keep up the good work!
13. chicks in chainmail? o3o It's more like... chainmail over the eye doesn't make practical sense. Chicks in chainmail are awesome. I tried chainmail, anyway!
14. oh my gosh. the amount of laughs that you guys have taken from me. Here's my finished sketch of A'zireena. I messed up on the left eye so many times that I just threw on some chainmail and went with it, so I'm sorry about that! Though I kind of like it, even if it doesn't make much practical sense. Here you go, A'zireena!
15. Here's a sketch I began for A'zireena. It's nowhere near done, so here's a half-face teaser that I haven't scanned yet!
16. Hi! This thread is adapted from Edgar's Free Drawings for Random People thread, and is in no way my original idea. I love his idea from the very bottom of my heart and because I wanted his thread to stay marked with his own impressive art, I have made this thread for anybody who wants to give somebody they admire a free drawing. That's you, great artist who might not feel ready to make your own forum topic! Don't feel like you're a good artist? Fear not! Your art will not be unfairly judged, nor will it be condemned, despised, loathed or neglected. Every piece of artwork is one step closer to getting that much better... and who would hate a free gift, anyway? If you're too embarrassed to make artwork for somebody you find respectable, that's okay! I will be updating this thread whenever I can with my own artwork, and I'll admit, the majority will be of characters I just found really pretty. So feel free to get out the arty materials, throw some lines together, and make a piece of art! Also, kudos to Edgar for his awesome art. so good. If I had money, I would commission you. Let's get started!
17. Kellach is so great in the Tavern! He helps with dungeons and always has a witty comment or productive thing to say. It's refreshing.
18. Ooh! Do you mind if I jump on this too? It sounds like fun to give free drawings to random people.
19. Y'lani eyed the wanted poster with a grimace. Her tail bristled at the stench of the Garlean, stuck to the parchment like a frog on a windowpane. The Garlean in green, her attacker, had been right at that pillar in Gridania and nobody had been the wiser. She pried at her satchel, throwing in what mattered most to her; her fang earrings, maps, gil and writing utensils all made their way into the makeshift pouch. "Stupid," she scolded herself, gently knocking her head against the support. "Stupid for trusting guard. Can't remember scent. No... can't do thing about scent. Too hard to track." It was then that the pugilist swung the satchel over her shoulder with her free hand, the other bound by a cast from her spontaneous fall the day before. She spat on the ground, intending to leave behind her own scent, before setting foot for Thanalan. Far away from this mess. "Back later."
20. Another image dump! Yee! Y'lani's encounter with a Garlean. Atoline played law enforcement for us, and it was a blast. I caught Atoli and Zakash Firemane in the shower together! Scandalous! (Darn, they're clothed!) If Y'lani were a man... Here's a photo of a fun first-meeting roleplay I had with N'velhi Tia. And finally, some silliness with Gus Pumpkinweed and Tatayon Jijiyon. Look at Gus' derp-face!
21. This is some good food for thought. Sticks to the topic, as well. Let's not delve too deep into the ethics of the restriction, guys. This thread was made to serve the purpose of talking about the restriction itself, not about calling the non-roleplayers on Balmung "parasites". We have to remember that Balmung does not only belong to roleplayers, and whether that impedes on the roleplay community or not does not concern us. We cannot control it, nor do we have the right to.
22. Same here! Feel free to toss me on the waiting list.
23. Y'lani in her fancy new retainer outfit! if only I had put that bust slider down just a little less...
24. Related. It seems like Balmung is opening on its own once every week, for a few minutes at a time. This is... I am not happy about this. It's like promising a child candy, but they have to climb over a brick wall to get it, and the candy is only on the other side at 4 AM in the morning. My recommendation for those wanting to get onto Balmung: either wait for maintenance or transfer. Those are the best ways to find your way here.
25. Oh, definitely! I would never expect real gil in exchange for roleplay. I'm hoping to give Y'lani experiences like this, among others, to develop her: and I can tell you that she may even be a little defensive at first, but she holds high loyalty to her friends and employers. Those all seem like things within her skill range, mhm! As long as the orders are spoken plainly, she can do them, and an added bonus is that she's far from bad when it comes to fist fights and melee combat. That's what she's trained for. I'm here for the long-term. I'm a sucker for character development; anything to make my character feel real somehow. That development over an extended period of time is best, so it seems like we're on the same page! A trial period sounds great. EDIT: I am super sorry for my chunky responses. I'm on mobile, eeep!
