  1. My sleep schedule is fairly orderly. As an American who plays with a bunch EU folk, I have it better than them -- all I need is good sleep so I can wake up regular morning times to match up. (8 AM, etc.) On weekdays, I get maybe six to five hours (because school), while on weekends I get eight to nine. So yeah, I get sleep! Nothing to regret here.
  2. WHAT. yes. EDIT: Y'lani would be Taiga from Toradora! with less cute. picture soon incoming. Warren isn't too far off from Takano too. I don't know what that means. I don't know whether to be outraged, flattered or a mix of both. You should be flattered. Takano is the strong, dominant one, after all.
  3. WHAT. yes. EDIT: Y'lani would be Taiga from Toradora! with less cute.
  4. Y'lani after the fun spa night (despite leaving early). And a Lani out and about.
  5. Here we have a Nah. It's a little more than a portrait, but... well. The outfit looked fun to draw.
  6. This artwork is professional grade. Nicely done. If I might ask: where did you learn your shading techniques? They really draw the eye in. Call me envious! not like this is my second time bumping this thread or anything. I swear I have a legit reason this time! :cactuar:
  7. Edgar is banned for having a cute unique character.
  8. Vali is banned for being a slowpoke. Shall I sprinkle salt on you, miss snail? Since Sastra was missed: Sastra is banned for not making me have more fun roleplay with the Kindred. They're such a great bunch. One thousand years dungeon for the both of you!
  9. Vali is banned for being a secret operative of the rogue human corporation, Cerberus. That's right, Shepard.
  10. There are plenty of ways a character can get Random RP without having them outwardly approach another character. Maybe they're reading a book in the street, and as they're walking, they trip over another character. I recommend sending a tell that you do want to roleplay, and your character is just an antisocial grump, to keep it going. He could bump into people, accidentally spill drinks on people, mistake someone for somebody else... the possibilities are endless. As a crippling shy person myself, OOC tells are my greatest resource. I've discussed this in another thread: it is far from a necessity, but in my opinion, it makes you just that more likely to keep the roleplay flowing. I made it my only shy character a complete klutz so I could get random RP whenever I wanted. You'd be surprised at where a simple trip gets you, especially if you trip over a pirate or a similarly questionable type.
  11. I found this lalafell. Isn't he handsome? *photo only blurry because enlarged.
  12. I don't mean to be rude, but don't you think that's just... Oh, I don't know, weird? I mean, sure, this is an mmorpg we are playing and these are other people we are interacting with and there are some rules, but people often forget that it's a two-way road. I agree with you on the point that chatting with someone you roleplay can be fun. Heck, I do it as often as I can. My original point was that, however helpful OOC interactions before RP may or may not be, I don't think it should be A) a must or B) encouraged that heavily. People should be able to freely go about and try to interact, in their character, with whomever they choose. That is roleplaying after all. Maybe I'm overacting or misread some bits in this thread, I just got a general vibe that OOC interactions (in random encounters) are heavily encouraged if you want to find some RP. (using the forums as a means of reaching contacts is a diffrent matter and I'm totally okay with that, just to clarify.) It's like telling someone that they'll only have a good spaghetti sauce if they'll add garlic to it, but nobody has to like garlic. I'll stop with the derailing already, sorry! Oh, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I've never had my characters cross any lines (as far as I know) so I was just taken aback and turned it into a mini habit. I would heavily encourage it if a player plays a villain, but otherwise, it is far from a necessity. OOC communication before the first walk-up definitely isn't something you need to do. You can initiate a roleplay however you like, within the realm of plausibility, of course, although it isn't guaranteed that the other player will respond to your attempts. Keep at it! You'll find somebody who will in due time. For the OP: as others have stated, be brave! Just putting yourself out there sparks up a bunch more continuous roleplay. I'd also tackle some of the "Making Connections" threads. I've gotten a lot of use out of them.
  13. Well, again, I think that the line with IC and OOC blurs here. If a character is uncomfortable with another character, why not react on a IC basis? It's simple as that. If only, that potentially leads to more RP. It feels like to me as if you would be trying to give information about your character on a OOC level while aquiring it through IC means could be more fun and, I like to repeat myself I know, creates more RP. Well, that I can agree with. Still, it's not a must! We should be free to interact with people even if we're not sure they are roleplayers? It's not like the things we do are taboo and non-roleplayers will report us to the authorities should they get a scent of us. I'll agree with you on your first point. It isn't a must, just something I like to do because new people and all. If I'm roleplaying with somebody, it's kinda nice to talk with them OOC and poke fun at our characters. As for your second point... I'll have to disagree with. If it was only a matter of a character being uncomfortable with mine, it wouldn't matter so much -- although on several different occasions, I have seen people react likewise to my character OOC. I've kept this small guideline in my head ever since my character made a player cry because... she wouldn't acknowledge that character by their name; I played an arrogant type that felt they were better than others. If they did report us, I'd have a laugh.
  14. I like to do it simply to see what the other person is like OOC. I love seeing the contrast between a player and their character -- how are they alike? How are they different? Not only that, but I have made a few wonderful friends by approaching them OOC first... and then they became one of my character's regulars. I especially feel like it throws out some tension when you play a brash, unpredictable character. If anything, I find it useful as to ensure folk aren't made uncomfortable. The most practical reason for it is to check whether or whether not they're IC; not everybody is a heavy roleplayer and IC at all times. By the way, I thought Klinzahr's advice was really great. EDIT: I-I apologize for this scattered mess of a post. Mobile does that to me sometimes.
  15. There's a local bakery near my house that has the most amazing treats. Whenever I have some extra cash, that's where it goes. Here's what I see every time I walk in. Ahh, I'm making myself want to head over there now... ;; By the way, Rita's looks delicious. If only I could visit to try it!
  16. There's a bunch of improvement here! It's wonderful to see. Keep up the good work!
  17. I'll throw both my joking and non-joking ideas at you. Take them as you will! Flynt is the half-lalafell bastard child of Sultana Nanamo Ul Namo. Flynt is a Garlean loyalist spy. Flynt grew up middle-class until his papa won the lottery. Flynt was very poor until senpai noticed him. Flynt invents well-respected goods under an alias. Flynt is a mama's boy and gets all of his money from her. Flynt has a hobby of extorting people. Flynt is one of those Golden Saucer mafia men. Flynt works at a cathouse. Flynt is the Karate Kid. Flynt is an Ishgardian xenophobe. Flynt makes money off of peoples' hate. more to come. maybe. edit: I just realized I haven't roleplayed with you. We should fix that sometime!
  18. Clio is an amazing artist with a good taste in names. Did you know that her character has the same nickname as me IRL, although with a different spelling? Not that I'm being self-conceited or anything.
  19. Here's a lighthearted pen sketch I did of an RL friend in class. Figured it couldn't hurt to post.
  20. Y'lani was taught to not give up until she does win. It's both because of this and her own brashness that she is a sore loser. If a challenge ends before she has the chance to win, she'll either go sulk or start a fight. She'd make an awful gambler.
  21. C'kayah is a shish-kebab. Lots of flavors, and different from person to person. But still great. Melkire is a bag of potato chips. They put people on diets in their place, and they're hard not to like.
  22. Two words: Windows 8. Thank you, Windows 8, for pre-deciding your pathways and shutting yourself down because you cannot follow them. Thank you for updating when nobody was home, when nobody could inform your update where to go, at a time you felt it was necessary to make my internet on the only gaming computer I have unusable because apparently I can't use the internet if you're missing files. And here I thought I couldn't have any more reason to hate Windows 8.
  23. I'll volunteer Y'lani for either "Angry" or "In Front of Someone She Dislikes". I like the expressionless style. It's super cute! 'Course, you can draw her however you like. References:
  24. I never created the rules of the internet, you know. Galaxy cupcakes with chocolate flavored icing!
