  1. What type of mentor are you searching for? My alt, Kaj, could potentially take him under his wing in the art of arcanism/magic as a whole. She's not the most experienced, being only nineteen herself, but after dedicating about half of her life to magic for self-defense I'd say she could be in a position for teaching.
  2. What's the ulterior motive? Female Miqo'te are cuties. I... don't have an answer for you. I'm sorry! To be honest, as I said, I'd simply feel more comfortable with more references. It's not as if I'm partial to Miqo'te or anything.
  3. Dishes. The water splashing is too much. I either have the choice of being soaked with clothes, or being soaked without clothes. And I think we can all agree on which is the better pick. I'm... not the most organized dishwasher, that's for certain.
  4. For me, there are a few things. *note: these are my own personal opinions. Some people love what I don't - after all, I'm that odd sort who loves applications. 1) The only way to truly reach the rest of your guild members is through Mumble, Teamspeak, or Skype. This is the one I cannot stand. I like to communicate through the net because my voice often goes unheard; I am far from the loudest speaker there might be. If a Free Company primarily communicates through voice, then I know it isn't the one for me. 2) A high-ranking officer has more say than a normal guild member in casual conversation. I understand why this arises. Free Company officers have difficult jobs, and some topics are better left untouched to keep the guild environment beneficial. But sometimes a line is crossed, and when that line snaps from being crossed too many times, corruption in favor of cliques and favorites tramples the guild. Everybody should have an equal voice, no matter their position. 3) You may only join the Free Company if the guild leader ICly likes you. I've had this happen to me a few times. Y'lani (and many of my previous mains) clashes with a lot of people. If you need an employee to lick your shoes to join your organization, the walls you have built will topple and fall - especially if you hire mercenaries. A plurality of mercenaries are not pleasant people. The coin is what they want, not servitude. I went a little over one, so I'll leave that at that. It'll be interesting to see what others dislike. This thread seems like it'd be helpful for folk only now beginning to create a guild.
  5. I'm sorrryyy (-stares at Y'lani-) ;w; We need to RP, then! You're the one who said it was all right to head to bed! To stay on topic: I also think it'd be neat to roleplay with Franz and Tiergan. M-Maybe I'll give in and just say everybody. There are so many amazing roleplayers here! :cactuar:
  6. They're free, 'ya dork. And I've been trying to find you on my alt for so long! If you see T'kajik Yana on, you should add her. That's mainly because I've been on Nah Nahn Stahp....hahlp meee.... Speaking of, can you do one of Nah or Kurt...take your pick and if you have a free slot that is. You want references? Hopefully the wiki images should be enough I can draw Nah for 'ya once I finish up Sakura. I can guarantee that more references will get you a more accurate sketch of Nah, but they aren't required. I swear I'm not only saying this because I love to see new screenies. You're now on the list!
  7. There are a feeeew people on my list. If I don't mention you, don't be afraid to message me anyway! I'm certain you'd be a joy to roleplay with, too. RPC citizens I have yet to roleplay with (and feel would character-clash well) Sounsyy Zhavi Chachan Fina Edgar Alothia L'yhta People I'd like to roleplay with more Makyn Cliodhna Kurt Quki U'zhan (and more to come!)
  8. Duskwright is photo senpai. I mean, I-It's not like I actively look for your screenshots in the Screenshot Thread or anything (baka!) Jaques has such a unique looking character. It's always nice to see him around, even if I've never introduced myself.
  9. Happy birthday, Clio! Have a great one! :moogle:
  10. Nebbs was a joy to roleplay with at the YATC event when I went, even if we sadly didn't do much interacting. Maybe I'll stalk see you around! Her character Nebbs is so pretty, too. @-@ And her screenshots! I can't wait to be able to edit as well as she can.
  11. I did an A'to! Meanwhile, Edda is perpetually in the first spot until I perfect her hat. EDIT: Updated it! Looks a bunch better now imho.
  12. I've heard scurvy mentioned a few times in the Limsa Lominsan main story quest. If I recall correctly, this employer said he hoped all of his pirate men would get scurvy. Otherwise, I'm sure we'll see lore-senpai Sounsyy swoop in sooner or later.
  13. I was pretending to be a priestess of Godbert by the Limsa Lominsan aetheryte, and... I don't know anymore.
  14. We should make a SMILE group and dedicate it to making people smile on a daily basis! Eleni is a sweetheart. She has helped keep this thread alive in moments where I have been scattered, and her desire to keep people smiling proves that she has her heart in the right place. EDIT: Ninja'd! Val is my new target for compliments! Val has both a memorable signature and meaningful posts. His contributions to the community ensure that nobody forgets him, and for good reason, too! I have seen nothing but helpfulness from him and Faye, and I can't help but be excited for what he does in the future.
  15. This. I've learned! Also, from what I've seen, maintenance is the best time to get in. Transferring is also a good way to get in if you don't want to waste your game time. Trust me, I waited ten days, every morning, trying to get into Balmung before the maintenance finally swooped down. It's exhausting, not good for your health, and in the end it wasn't worth it because the server continued not to open in the mornings despite the waiting. Getting in, on the other hand, is very worth it. Balmung is a great server. EDIT: I've made this thread if you're here to talk about Balmung restrictions, and not here to say that Balmung is open. I most definitely recommend posting there instead of here as not to defeat this thread's purpose! excuse my shameless self-endorsement. I'll quote my previous post for those who are struggling with the restriction and would like to talk/discuss it rather than bumping the thread made to let people know when Balmung is open. You'll find your answers there! There are also a few other threads with similar connotations. EDITEDIT: I'll chip in with my own opinion and tell you that the best times to get onto the server is right before or right after maintenance. I also have good luck on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4 AM to 7 AM CST. This thread was what helped me make Kaj, and I am so grateful for that! It's a good one to follow.
  16. Added! The list is now full. If anybody else is still interested, I can throw up a waiting list for the patient.
  17. They're free, 'ya dork. And I've been trying to find you on my alt for so long! If you see T'kajik Yana on, you should add her. @salads I'd love to make an art trade! Here are some screenshots of Kaj, for reference. (Since she is currently artless^^) I don't expect you to bite off more than you can chew -- just do your best and I'll try to do mine!
  18. This thread is a compilation of pencil-to-paper sketches, hopefully improving piece by piece! I-I... what do I say here... Oh! Art! Here are some sketches I have done in the past few weeks. Portraiture Victims: Warren Castille (closed) (closed)
  19. This looks so fun! My alt, Kaj, would make a good victim for the Turks if you'd like to use her for a roleplay anytime. She's both somewhat naive and well off — a perfect target for a monetary heist! It is also likely that she could easily be tricked into running tasks simple yet risky when it comes to searches. Love the concept. If only I had a dastardly gentleman concept under my sleeve!
  20. It seems plausible enough to me! Any community is possible, although I will note that such a community would need a comprehensible background because of racial tensions and the fact that Keepers and Seekers don't often mingle because Keepers are nocturnal and Seekers are diurnal. I haven't done much research on the history between Miqo'te and Hyur, but they get along well enough in the city states. Cross-breeding is severely looked down upon in Eorzea. The Nunh system may work among Seekers, but a Nunh throughout all three species may be distasteful for many people. Keeper females that are still attached to their culture would definitely disagree -- this would put the male in a position of a possible domination over them. (ex - Keeper Female: We're not property!) Which is another reason why it could prove difficult to mix the cultures if they still cling to their old traditions. If you mean that amongst the male population, the concept of Nunh exists, that... would not be possible. Nunhs are breeding males, nothing less, and nothing more. The Drake (U) tribe is one of the few exceptions to this rule. Because males cannot breed together, it would defeat the purpose of being Nunh. That doesn't mean I don't encourage exploring your concept, of course! I generally don't focus too much on backstory myself; for me, the fun is to roleplay the current, not write the past. But everybody is different! I wish you tons of luck on your idea. It sounds like it'll be fun to navigate.
  21. Hidden Falls is featured at the top of the map in this screenie.
  22. Sounds like the perfect place for Kaj! I'll make sure to stop by if I'm able.
  23. I made an alt! Her name is T'kajik, but most people know her as Kaj.
  24. Warren is gruff, cool, and composed. What's not to like? He's also has a wonderful knack for disappointing others. I keep thinking he's in my guild, but he isn't. It's the tag, I swear! I jest. That disappointment is my own fault.
  25. Nako'li is the most nicely dressed frequent AFKer I know! He also has a neat character design.
