Compliments Galore! Compliment The Poster Above You!
Y'lani replied to Y'lani's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Kurt. Did you really change your name to Ice Cream Sandwich? i support this decision wholeheartedly. *Kurt is a friendly, amazing person, about willing to chat it up with anybody! I truly enjoy roleplaying and talking with him with him, even when he throws in a silly nickname. And now apparently he has gone from Chicken Nugger to Ice Cream Sandwich. From lunch to dessert! EDIT: yay for phone making the small text large. -
What do you use to edit your screenshots? They look lovely!

Y'lani, when anybody becomes too suggestive too fast. warning: nudity Their clothes don't fly off intentionally, she swears!
-
Heylook, it's an outfit Y'lani looks good in! I'm very happy with it. EDIT (with expert footage of Makyn and I being silly OOCly in our new outfits):

Post Valentione's Day Date Auction [Rescheduled/New Location]

I caught a few screenshots of the event when it was early and Y'lani was guarding the stage: -
Edda! Disclaimer: Don't worry. I would never commit such a horrendous act against my good friend, Edda Vincents. not with her looking, at least. EDIT TO CONTRIBUTE TO THREAD: I'll drop my own two gil in this topic and say that, personally, I don't mind the use of small glamors in roleplay as long as they have their drawbacks as Franz and Enzo have stated. If there is a risk to the glamor, it not only adds flavor, but plausibility as well. I do not find it believable that a lalafell could take on the appearance of her Roegadyn boss if she so desired, although I do find it believable that a man could change his face for about an hour before the need for reapplication arises. My advice? As long as you don't over-do it, you should definitely go for it!

World of Warcraft, about seven to eight years ago. I share your feelings on the character I roleplayed... shudder. Never again. she was a perfect angel blood elf with no flaws who was secretly a high elf and her sole purpose was to romance a hot guy because she was hot enough to have like, twenty, so that guy better be hotter than her and somehow be Apollo the sun god because haha gods > humans.

Meanwhile, Kurt gets just a little too excited after the Yatagahn Trading Consortium open bar event... Another addition to AFK shots. This is what happened to poor Nako'li when he went for an hour of AFK.

YTC Bar nights every friday night 7pm est
Y'lani replied to Aduu Avagnar's topic in Chronicled Events
The event was a blast! We even had some silly shenanigans with an AFK Nako'li after the fact: Watch out, Erik! Kurt's getting a little questionable with Cliodhna here. -
My racing chocobo is named Odyssée (you'll find me a lot in the Costa R-60!) and Y'lani's in-character riding chocobo is named Y'kaan, in honor of her tribal heritage.

Ramomo-chan's wiki gave me more than a few laughs when I looked through it, I'll admit. Kurt is witty! Ex: Sexuality: Hetero unless paid Body: Athletic from all the running away. Likes: Merchants. Dislikes: Merchants. I can sympathize with Ramomo. Merchants can either be great or sly, and in Ul'dah, it's often the latter. -

Homestuck - A Plea from a LalaKage on Catching Up
Y'lani replied to Kage's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I loved Homestuck while I read it! I have a friend who may be able to explain (in extensive detail) what you don't understand -- I haven't gotten very far, myself. If I crack some information from him, I'll make sure to edit my post with said explanation! Who knows, maybe there are some big Homestuck fans here too. -
Here's something I did as a class assignment. I'm not much of a poem writer, myself, so I ended up starting with the first stanza of one of Y'lani's songs. The theme was, "Connecting Communities, Peace and Prosperity". Tales from Lost Nights With a passion for all, he held out his hands Only to be dealt a blade with disastrous plans No courage, no strength, could keep him from running And so he changed, alas, now very cunning! Bright as the moon over starlight His people feared and fretted, stirred no quarrels or fights They lit the flames of the night, the night! Their union defaced by an infectious plight With a retreat for all, she holds out her knife Only to be defied by a king razed by strife No promises, no lies could keep her from slaying And so she’s deranged, alas, left for laying! Lost like the widow in white Her family begged and pleaded, prayed lost love’s might They let their hearts fall alight, alight! Their merger unlaced by a formidable height Our battles are waged with smiles and sighs No blades, no knives, no arrogance and lies We, their people, have learned from before And have grown to love one another at core This is our tale

While I don't know much about Ilwe'ran, she's always seemed assertive and mature to me. I'm impressed by the things she has accomplished, and I can't wait to see how far those accomplishments bring her. -
Y'lani would without a doubt be Syrian. Many of her songs are inspired by Syrian folk music and her tribe's language is similar to Arabic, like English is to Spanish. In fact, the song Yal Asmar Ellon was my driving factor to make Y'lani. Feel free to have a listen! This choir's performance begins rather quiet at first, and then grows into a large crescendo later on, so... just a warning! _cc8Z29cbNk

Drats! Speaking of creep time, I caught an AFK Locke Fairwind myself.

Cylin is very courteous and says nice things all the time! I've seen nothing but maturity from her, although she does have yet to reveal her teensy bit of madness. Crossing my fingers for the best. -
I had to leave early, although I did snap some screenshots of the event before I had to skedaddle.

Let's keep this civil. The second this becomes a flame was is the second I will ask for this thread to be locked, and it is growing dangerously close to shifting from a debate to an argument. This thread was made to serve the purpose of talking about the restriction on Balmung. While I do encourage sharing ways to help make it better, discussing server capacity and what games are superior with their capacities is a different debate entirely, so with that, I'd like for us to stay on topic as well.

Rhylli is such a positive person and a huge jokester in the Tavern chat -- never ceasing to steal a laugh from me. Should I say a single wrong word, suddenly... it's a pun or a rhyme or a joke! Rhylli is crazy witty concerning that. EDIT: She also made my signature! Isn't it great? I just love it, so we can add that to one of Rhylli's many exceptional skills. :cactuar: -
I'll be there!

Y'lani gets flustered when she is mocked, bad. She doesn't have much of an issue with people complimenting her appearance, but the second they mock her, she's ready with the punches (if you don't notice her flushed face, that is!) She believes that being caught in that state is a sign of weakness -- yet she barrels herself right down that hole. She reacts snappishly, expressing that by stammering, stomping, and if the embarrassment is too bad, she'll sulk and let it ruin her day. On the bright side, not many people know this, and so she only suffers this fate with strangers and one good acquaintance.
