Thanks so much to everyone who turned up last night. We weren't expecting quite so many so I may or may not have panicked just a tad when I saw the crowds pour in! We hope you all had a great time. Big thanks to our staff for working as hard as they did as well! The dodgeball game was also a lot of fun, we hope, for those who participated! Bert's team won the first match, Iona's team won the second, and Bert won again in the last round, so overall Bert's team is the victor. Congratulations to everyone on Team Bert and well played to those on Team Iona, especially Ashile E'lta, the adorable lalafell, and Totojin Kokojin, our drunken dodgeball master! As we kicked off our next company plotline last week, it was time again for me to write a summary. Enjoy!

Just a reminder that we open up the bar again tonight! As Kilid and Inarah are both in Ishgard ICly at the moment, I'll be coming on my alt, Kohi Shiransu, and Kilid will arrive a bit later on his alt, Aihana Kowashiru. Aihana will be organising a game of dodgeball, as previously detailed in Kilid's post here. We've played quite a few games within our FC and it's always a huge hit so we're really hoping to get some bar patrons to join us!

The past week or so has been quite busy as usual for a perfectly legitimate salvaging business. Many of our members have hit 60 and started infiltrating Alexander already, whilst our glorious leaders may or may not still be suffering through the Churning Mists. We're hoping to start up company runs of the new raid next week when we have more people levelled and geared. As far as roleplay goes, Sayuri took us out into the wilderness to search for paint ingredients last Wednesday so she can start redecorating for us. I hear there were only minor complications so well done. We're looking forward to seeing what she does with the shop! Friday night, however, didn't go so well. The Jackals headed to Coerthas on what was meant to be a simple caravan escort but were ambushed by a horde of heavily armed bandits and a magitek colossus! Most of the pack sustained heavy injuries and, if it weren't for the chirurgeon who happened to pass through at the time, it's most likely we'd have had casualties as well. We spent Saturday recovering in nearby Fallgourd Float and then got the shipment back to Limsa via airship from Gridania on Sunday. [align=center][/align] Needless to say, we've all been scratching our heads, wondering just what in the seven hells went wrong. Something fishy is afoot and it's now down to the Jackals to find out more! This coming Saturday we host the Sunny Seaside Bar again and will have Kilid's dodgeball as our entertainment. We've played quite a few games within the company and it seems to be enjoyed by everyone so we hope to see folks there for a bit of fun!

Hello and welcome! Oh you're on Piken Square? I was there for about a year as well, had an asuran ex-assassin. I'm guessing you're EU then so just going to mention the European Directory for events, linkshells and FCs that play during EU-friendly hours. Your character concept sounds interesting. If she was raised by lalafells, she perhaps wouldn't have any knowledge about usual Seeker tribal culture so your own lack of knowledge on that subject (for example) wouldn't be a problem at all. Character Fear? Inarah's main fear is what she calls "unnatural magic". Ghostly apparitions and delving into the spirit world, that sort of thing. How do they cope? She's run across it a few times and, well, she ran away the first time! Even left her friend behind to fend for herself. The second time, she stayed there to help her friend but wasn't a lot of use as she was mostly whimpering and trembling in fear. How do people respond to their fear? I thought she'd get more backlash for turning tail and fleeing, to be honest, but people were quite sympathetic. She's a lot harder on herself for abandoning her friend than anyone else is. Do you think one day they could be cured of there fear? Eh, well, she's able to at least stand her ground now but I don't think she'll ever stop being afraid of it.

Naturally I'm biased as I'm on Balmung, but we have an active EU community here, for both RP and PVE. The European Directory lists events, linkshells and FCs playing at EU-friendly times. That said, you don't have to restrict your play to other EU players, as there are plenty of daytime NA players and, if you're a night owl, even more activity in the late EU hours. I've heard of some RP activity on EU servers like Moogle but ended up choosing Balmung myself so can't really comment on the current state of them. If you buy the digital CE of ARR, you get some in game items: chocobo barding, a mount, a minion (non-combat pet) and some armour that gives an xp boost below level 10. Whether you'd consider that worth the cost, however, is down to you!

Thanks to everyone who came last night! Turnout wasn't quite enough for that game of dodgeball, as I'm sure many of you were busy levelling and getting through the new content, so we're going to aim to do it at the next bar instead. Added you on my alt last night and will get you on Inarah ASAP! My PC died Friday so I was struggling through the evening on my terrible old backup with about 8 fps haha.

What a week it's been! Heavensward arrived and the Jackals swiftly raced to Ishgard to discover a whole new world. We're devouring the lovely lore tidbits found throughout the quests and coming up with ideas for future events as well as contemplating how the company as a whole will evolve and grow. Of course, with server stability issues and the natural focus on levelling at present, roleplay has become less of a priority but we still managed to find time for each other. Monday we were at the Missing Member and got to meet some mysterious people who have recently begun appearing all over Eorzea, known as the Au Ra. [align=center][/align] Last night, Kilid arranged another game of dodgeball. There were a few injuries but it was all in good fun, right? Nothing personal at all about that projectile bashing you in the face, right? [align=center][/align] We also have some important news! After much discussion and debate between Kilid and myself, we've decided to take on two officers to help us out with leading our pack of Jackals. Platinum Mountain and Romimo Romi have run their own events in the past and been assisting us behind the scenes for awhile now so it was merely the next logical step to make it official. Our new Agents will continue running events, pick up a share of the administration duties and be a point of contact when our members need to speak to a leader. Congratulations you two and thank you so much! Which brings us to another important announcement: our pack has grown rather quickly lately and we've had to make the hard decision to close recruitment for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, we can't give an accurate estimate as to when we plan on opening our doors again, but if you've been thinking about joining and don't want to wait, please check out the Linkshell Hall here at the RPC for an alternative. We've got a lot planned for the rest of this week and next week, with many of our crew running some events of their own, the Sunny Seaside Bar tomorrow and the return of our company plotline, so hang onto your ears, or horns, or tails, or whatever you have, and get ready for some fun!

I would suggest just playing what appeals to you but SE did do a census for 2014 with a breakdown of race, gender, etc popularity if that helps you choose at all.

That said, one of the perks to being on an NA realm is you can find RP pretty much any time of the day and night, since the NA players are still awake during our mornings and coming home from work/school in our evenings. Just be careful you don't stay up too late!

I based my fan lore for Inarah's Jackal tribe on jackals in our world. "The Jackal Tribe in Outer La Noscea works together to take down prey and prefers to attack with light weapons, relying on speed of movement and cunning over raw strength. Being opportunistic scavengers, they have no qualms with stealing the kills of other tribes or animals, although they're fiercely territorial when it comes to their own turf and possessions. Whilst the Nunhs reproduce with any given female required, they have a close relationship with one female in particular (reminiscent of how jackals mate for life). The older children are expected to help raise the younger ones so the mother can quickly return to hunting."
