1. Only one I could stand out of my three attempts so far.
2. I love love LOVE your avatar and signature. Simple yet extremely clean and nice to look at.
3. Oh boy there are too many to name... Skallagrim for weapons testing and knowledge: ADoseofBuckley: TotalBiscuit and his wife for their mixture of humor of the latter's channel, and his serious indepth analysis of PC gaming: (Don't have to agree with everything someone does to like their content.) And because this post will be longer than hell if I don't stop somewhere, Jesse Cox for always being able to make me laugh when I'm down:
4. Frankly the roll system isn't what I prefer either, I adamantly hate it most of the time and most people who know me have heard the rants I've gone on about how it can fundamentally change a character if allowed to run rampant. Personally my statement really only applies with people I've never roleplayed with before and whom want to role play a fight right off the bat. Two sessions is usually all I need to know what kind of person I'm dealing with, and I do go out of my way to talk to anyone I'm engaging in roleplay about their characters and try to make sure we're both having as much fun as possible. If by the second session I know I can trust the other player and they can trust me, all the handle bars come off and it goes extremely smoothly from then on. Hell, sometimes it happens right away during the first RP because like you suggested I do try to talk things out first and get a feel for the character and the person on an OOC level. It really is just a case of where I've been bitten so badly by it in the past that while I'm not going to presume guilty before innocent, I still will do my best to make sure the playing field is level before unleashing the flood gates so to say. It's just as much a consideration towards myself however as it is to the other player, so they can get a feel for me and my style so we can see if the kid gloves can eventually come off and have a good old time. It really doesn't take me long to trust other people once I've talked with them. ^^ And I feel you on the quotes. x_x They're a PAIN.
5. This, I've had and seen far too many bad experiences with combat RP back on SWTOR to ever trust someone I'm unfamiliar with to use the honor system properly. Far too many people use RP as a means of inflating their own egos, and while I'm not saying I don't in some ways do that because it's the trap of engaging in this form of interaction in the first place, I really have a hard time trusting people especially when their character is ICly considered to be fairly powerful. Far too many of my old friends were either run ramshod over or told their character was 'killed' because some asshole in the community got it into their head to fight them and force a win. Sometimes without any consent from my friends to even fight in the first place. There were entire player groups who min-maxed the ever loving fuck out of their characters, taking traits and aspects that made them almost invincible and then expected you to just lay down quietly as they curb stomped a character who ICly should have at least been somewhat of a match for them. As such I really don't put up with it anymore. If someone wants to fight my characters and I'm unfamiliar with them, I use the roll system and set out rules to what they can and cannot do to my characters as a precaution. However - with that said - once I know them all that falls to the wayside. Want to permanently maim my character? Go ahead! Beat them to within an inch of their life? YES PLEASE! I purposefully play weaker characters because I find them more compelling on a personal level to write, I'm not going to fudge their chances in a proper fight for anything. However, I must first know the other person isn't going to essentially go 'lol I see your attack but I have super duper indestructible armor that you can only craft one day every thousand years, so it does absolutely nothing to me trolololo', before I default to the honor system.
6. Hmm... I'll probably have to recommend three that I don't think will ever make this forum otherwise - as much as I'm tempted to recommend Berserk or Cowboy Bebop they're pretty much guaranteed to appear at least once. Therefore, I present to you three anime that are essential for anyone who loves character driven narratives and ESPECIALLY strong female protagonists. Juuni Kokki/Twelve Kingdoms, Saiunkoku Monogatari, and the newest one Akatsuki no Yona. Twelve Kingdoms This story actually handles the trope of 'girl and friends' being pulled into another world and turns it completely on it's head, showing exactly what would happen if such a thing were to occur. You will HATE every single character in the beginning, save Rakashun, and that's because each of them must do horrible things to simply survive in a world they do not understand and the mental stress that comes from being hunted due to their status as outsiders. However if you can make it through the first eight episodes, you'll find a series that isn't afraid to break it's characters in order to force them to grow - and Youko, once a whiny pill of a girl, slowly develops into one of the strongest protagonists I've ever seen regardless of gender. It's well worth the 'break the cutie' moments in the beginning to see what they set up for the rest of the series. Saiunkoku Monogatari Less 'break them and then watch as they develop' than the above series, this one none the less deals with politics in a setting similar to ancient China and a lone woman doing her utmost to become a government official in a society where such a thing is outright frowned upon. I loved this series, though the romance could be a tad... Cloying at times. Shuurei isn't nearly as beloved as Youko is in my book, but this little series is a fun diversion if you're looking for historical romances where the main heroine isn't a completely helpless twit. Akatsuki no Yona The newest, though a definite favorite that I know I'll still be watching for years to come. It's currently unfinished, it's first season just ending on Crunchyroll a few weeks ago, but with the manga still ongoing. Like Twelve Kingdoms, the main characters are not very likeable in the beginning and much like it as well this entire anime is primarily character driven. It does have smatterings of romance, but at all times the development of Yona and the people around her are paramount. It's also really damn funny, so it'd be a fun diversion when you're looking for story driven content with additional comedy. Can you tell I like historical series yet...?
7. I think the other issue is that there is no ONE method for doing it. Everyone is still figured out what works best, and no two strategies work for the same group. My FC tried to do it the way they were hearing it should be done, but we eventually found the best way for us to clear was to have both healers constantly running ahead and PULLING the mobs with the tank so the canons could get to them evenly - and anyone who needed heals had to come get them as we stopped to do AOEs - myself spamming Holy on the occasions there was no adds and Vishnap had come to a halt. It worked like a bloody charm, but it isn't something everyone would agree with and it helped that we all know each other's strengths and could play to them. Give it a few months and there will be one unified strategy... And hopefully a nerf. x_x I would love for the current SoF to be made a little harder and packaged as the hard or EX version of the fight, while the normal is nerfed for those poor sods who just want to get into HS. At present, it's far too cruel to expect newbie pugs to manage a fight like that - especially if they've never bothered with raiding or the optional primals.
8. Nebbs always seems to have a positive thing to say and I really admire that. ^^
9. The males look amazing, the females... I play a female Miqo'te and even I'm a bit put off my the 'MOE' vibes the female Au Ra give off... I wish there was a more fierce variant... But chances are I'll play around in the benchmark in a few days and find something I do end up liking.
10. Just some fun screens of Enla's new changes that I took for her wikia. Losing an eye, even if you're already blind, is enough to piss anyone off.
11. Several things happened today for Enla, so I figured I'd post something light hearted to stem the FEELS.
12. Somewhere, somehow, Sae just developed a cold sweat and looked over his shoulder. Nah with her own gang of childish lackeys... He'd never have a hope of surviving. Enla... Would probably make the children cry, and then just wonder why anyone would ever trust her around children. THEY SHOULD KNOW BETTER.
13. YES PLEASE. I miss players having concerts in the cities and playing really damn good renditions of popular songs with the in game software.
14. LoTRO's cosmetic vault and expandable item vault on the side, because I'm not willing to buy another retainer for more storage space and think the idea is rather stupid that I'm trusting all my worldly possessions to 'another character' in game. LoTRO's entire cosmetic system for that matter as well. Oh it's end game gear and you aren't leveling that alt beyond 15? It's fine! You can still wear it! Want to wear armor as a caster? HAVE I GOT GOOD NEWS FOR YOU. And all of it is free, save more cosmetic slots, no need to buy prisms.
15. Enla and Nicholas: And of course, this is always relevant, thanks to Brambles/Nick for point this out and most of the rest of the gifs! http://forget-your-troubles-get-happy.tumblr.com/post/42044051666
16. Thank you! ;w; It means a lot after all the work to hear it turned out well.
17. Finished it, finally... x__x -dies- Now I can move onto other things, and possibly start RPing Cylin again. For larger versions go to my deviantart or tumblr, the latter is listed in my signature and the former is listed on my tumblr. -dies again-
18. Banned for trying to think such a thing was possible! Banned for not letting them live the dream!
19. New hair brings new possibilities~ It's just a shame that the ways to justify the hair cut that are floating around in my head will not be pleasant...
20. Clio always makes me smile when I see her post, and sometimes recoil in horror like when she posted that Tingle picture... MY BRAIN. MY EYES. AGHHHHH. No seriously, she's awesome. <3
21. ... Too be fair, most of my character's have theme songs without words to them... I find it's much easier to fit the song that way... Enla's:
