  1. Derp. DERPPPPPPP. Huge derp on my part. x__x Thank you so much for pointing that out. And thank you for your kind words! ;w;
  2. -dies- Finally done. Two versions this time.
  3. They also aren't selling the White and Black one for Females. ): I wanted that one the most.
  4. I don't know if this is meaning PCs or NPCs. If it is in the case of NPCs... As addressed in this thread; http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=12454&highlight=sidurgu
  5. Yeah nah. At least in Bismarck Ex you know you are getting people who are level 60, and who know they are supposed to perform on a consistently high level, especially with pugs (even if they sometimes don't). Bismarck HM through trials roulette? Same problem with Steps of Faith pre-nerf. You'll get new people, impatient veterans, people who ignore mechanics, people who don't understand the mechanics, and DPS that may or may not average sub 200 dps. It's a veritable recipe for disaster, and - even though the fight is far easier than EX in theory - if you don't get extremely lucky and land in a decent group, you can expect to wipe. Probably more than once. You get the same type of groups in Ex. Except in Ex it's worse because people are more likely to quit or point fingers and such cause unlike HM roulette there's no tome bonus at the end. So people have nothing to wait around for and wipe non stop. I'd say both of you are right from my experiences. Bismarck is one of those shitty trials that people think they can go into and not pull their weight and then 'lo and behold get utterly amazed when things fall through. But it's never -their- fault, oh no. I did a run to help another FC once and had to quit due to exhaustion because we were simply not getting anywhere. I wish I had my parser on while it was happening, because I could swear their DPS was indeed sub 200. My own fault from the fight was that I was tired as well and since I was having a hard time healing with the other healer, it was just an all around stressful event and by the end my own abilities were slipshod at best.
  6. That's the thing though, it's very prevalent within the story and is addressed throughout. Particularly in regards to the beast races, which are very much sentient and portrayed as often being dicked over due to the prejudices of their more 'civilized' counterparts. The Sahagin and the Kobolds in particular spring to mind as examples of this fact within the base game, and the former is even expanded upon during the Leviathan portion of the main storyline. I really don't think their plights and the issues surrounding WHY they summon their primals is any less racial because of their beast like nature, or the fact that they aren't playable. Then there's Ishgard and the fact that we learned that the dragons are very much also sentient and the tensions between them and the races of man; which are a highlight throughout the story and even are explored in several side quests in the Forelands. Don't forget about Hilda either (as her story wasn't just based upon class issues), or that one interracial couple who was on the run -because- they were interracial and not because they were gay as shown here. How the Auri are treated horribly both in Othard and now in Eorzea by certain groups of people, the Duskwights, and the tribal Moonkeepers are also examples of this - and each are given prevalence in many of the class quests. I haven't had to deal with racial issues in my own life, so I can never understand how it might feel or how hard it must be to encounter it in a video game. But this world WAS written with this issue at the forefront in many instances. It isn't lightly glossed upon either. That said, nobody should have to RP what they aren't comfortable with. But the lore should also be acknowledged OOCly, if that makes sense?
  7. Pretty much this for me. Hearing that it shares some features with 8 did not endear 10 to me in any fashion. After dealing with 8 on my laptop I can honestly say I could not hate that OS any more if I actively tried, and I used to have ME, so anything remotely like it is automatically suspect to me. :dodgy: However, if I wish to continue gaming I'll eventually need to make the switch. My hope is by the time I do so any issues it has upon release will be no more than a bad memory. By then I'll also have cooled on my dislike enough to hopefully see the good sides of 10.
  8. I'd really like tiered phased apartments, where you can buy up to a medium house's sized worth of space and not have to worry about competing with the rest of the server for those few slots that rarely come up to auction. Hell I know many players would love to run IC shops or the like from a house but just don't have the money to break in. Making the apartments larger, -or- at the very least allowing us to upgrade existing rooms at the FC's would help facilitate that for those of us who don't wish to dedicate the time to not only earning more money to buy it but also track down someone who is selling. What I really -truly- want however, even if it would never affect me, is wards that make clear distinctions between FC and player housing. There are a lot of FC's that -need- housing that just can't get a break, and there are plenty of players who want it as well. Separate the two to give both opportunities to have what they want, and throw in apartments so that everyone else can have some small slice of the pie.
  9. I level my alts only as far as I feel RP will lead them and then that's it until I finally get everything to 60 on Enla. I know some people who dedicated each character to a specific role, but it's much easier for me to zerg one class to 50 or 60 for an alt and then ignore them until everything is done on my main. This game is really, REALLY, not alt friendly...
  10. I get anxious in dungeons for reasons that have nothing to do with the game. Namely because Murphy's Law seems to love sending people to ask my to do things as soon as I start a run even though I checked with them not ten minutes prior to make sure I have some time to myself. :dodgy: Add onto that the fact that as a healer you are the most likely to get blamed for a bad run and dungeons are never my cup of tea at the best of times. However I've found that so long as I pace myself it isn't too hard to do more than three a day if I truly need the resources that can be gotten from them. Take frequent breaks, if you need to go slow tell people ahead of time and let the jerks sort themselves out. Never -ever- sacrifice your personal well being to get a dungeon done.
  11. Couldn't... They have just watched a video for that? The hell...? D:
  12. I've had a friend help me with leves of late so I've been skirting to 30 before I fate grind my life away, however I have to agree with you that there's an absolute DIRTH of people doing the old content. It makes sense mind, everyone is going after Alexander right now and if they're not doing that they're fate grinding the newer classes or gearing up to i170. There are still some people who are new to the game and -need- those dungeons, but with content more spread out it's harder to get the ones you want to pop when you need them. If you ever need someone to help the queue pop faster drop me a line, alright? Speaking of low level dungeons and leveling, dear tank who decided to start a Tam Tara run wearing a mixture of THM gear and the Snow outfit... Why? Just... Why? That was one of the most painful dungeon runs I've had in a long time, and the first in months I willingly put up with the punishment timer to drop when it became clear you had no interest in tanking due to the skills you were using, or rather not using. :dodgy: Also... Dear ME, I really should not do dungeons while talking to someone in skype. x___x
  13. Newest work, first in a series of four. As always also on my tumblr.
  14. Enla wears three separate trinkets, though only two of them hold any sort of meaning. An orange crystal with a long string of leather looped through a hole cut at the top. A present from her late father that she only recently came into possession of; the crystal holds no special powers or any deeper meaning beyond being one of the first true possessions her father ever possessed after leaving his tribe after his majority. She wears it whenever she leaves the apartments she shares with her beau, and it's rarely out of arms reach. A simple pendant with the images of a conjurer's cane and a lance etched into the relief. As present from Nicholas it too is one of her most dear possessions, and unlike her father's pendant she almost never removes it. Though part of that is due to the fact that the pendant, unlike the crystal, isn't liable to jab her with any sharp edges in the middle of the night. A simple leather eyepatch that she wears to cover the now empty socket that her right eye once called home. The only time this is ever removed is during sleep and when she wishes to make a production out of making someone lose their lunch.
  15. Aww, thanks! I'll definitely drop you a line.
  16. I have a Roegadyn falconeer based out of Limsa who would very, very much be interested in knowing a fisherman to help her supplement the diets of her seafaring birds when they are being tended to or she can't find the time to hunt with them outside of Limsa. ^^
  17. Huh, I hadn't remembered that part. If Enla ever comes across someone claiming to be a WHM now I'll have to amend her answer to being more quizzical than outright 'u wot m8'. Thanks Sounsyy for clearing that up.
  18. Not only that, but so long as both sides are amicable about the whole matter it can provide an interesting diversion or a later storyline hook to actually follow through with the question. Why IS your character there? Do they have their visas and a work permit, or the rough equivalent? What are they doing in the fancier quarters of the city? Etc, etc, etc. It's all fun little things to think about really and who knows! You might find a very good reason for them to be there. I mean it's one thing to have someone outright attack you over these issues, but if it comes up in regular RP is there really any harm in following through with it? Unless of course it's not to your taste, then a simply talk over PM explaining your stance will go a much longer way than blowing up at the other person. Mm, I've done so on many occasions and when no evidence has come to show they have no right being in X location - My character calls the guards, and because there is no IC representation of the guards they proceed to attack a Ul'dahn citizen in the middle of a tavern and everyone cheers them on because 'how dare she enforce the law'. Bleh. See that's something I'd have like to have happened to Enla when she was still in Ul'dah. She had her permits but the place she worked was literally one flicker away from being closed down by the proper authorities if they didn't constantly toe the line between offering medical service to those who needed it, but also cooperating with the authorities given the fact that a near free clinic attracts all sort of unwanted characters. Add onto that that she was still very clearly blind at the time and a Keeper at that, and it would have been so interesting to see how she managed to convince the appropriate people that, no, she was not a beggar and was there legitimately... Heck, I want it to happen now that she's up in Ishgard as the only reason she even breached the city gates was due to her needing urgent care. I'm really sorry people have lashed out at your character doing something that is logically within their frame work. People don't like having their character's toes stepped on even when simply communication can solve everything.

  20. Paid transfers are probably the best option if you have the money, though do be sure to look at the instructions for them when on the Mog Station as there are time and quest requirements one needs to take into account when applying. (I think it was something like completing the first main quest and three days of time passing in the real world?) In regards to making a character on Balmung I do have a word of advice. The server is usually up for one hour or more after maintenance depending upon numerous factors. However due to the release of the expac two weeks ago I would not bank on that being the current case. Try to camp the launcher when the maintenance is coming to an end, then once it's over immediately try to get your character in. Have a name ready as well as the appearance should you not desire to remake your current one and it might work. Personally if it does I'd try to sneak one or two more on as well, just so you have others to play with should the mood strike you to write another character. But all of this is predicated on you actually wanting to hop over to Balmung. There's been a few attempts by other people to bring RP to the less populated servers, and I do remember some people making threads before asking if anyone was RPing on Sargatanas. Whatever you decide, I hope you enjoy your stay in the game.
  21. I initially thought that was the angle they were going to take. But instead, we had a cardboard cutout villain that seemed really two dimensional. I can't maneuver very well with this laptop, so instead of quoting again I'll just throw my thoughts here for another matter that's been posted. I will say though that just because someone has a character who will call you out on the matter or don't want to RP with you doesn't mean they're bad people. Everyone has different preferences, and so long as nobody is institutionalizing what is and isn't acceptable while banning everyone else from their own antics then does it truly matter? We all have our niche's and petpeeves when it comes to RP. In the end it's merely something to be aware of when trying to find your own niche. Hell, I'm one of those people who has a character who -will- call people out if they claim to be WHM in character. Why? Because as someone who was raised in Gridania and who has studied Conjury extensively it's been beaten into her head that WHM are chosen, not self made for a very real and practical purpose. Unless, of course, the user turns to nefarious methods to bypass the Elemental's will. And she would see it as nefarious given the reasons -WHY- both white magic and black magic are viewed with such outright suspicion given how they jointly wreaked havoc upon Eorzea once upon a time. All of which I'm sure are, again, beaten into the heads of anyone wishing to partake of the instructions offered within the Stillfane Glade. Does that mean I personally have an issue with the person? No. It's merely something my character would do. The other person is more than free to respond in kind and while we might find our characters don't mesh, it doesn't mean that I'm going to demand they abandon their character concept. Different strokes and all and frankly everyone is allowed to RP however they want as far as I'm concerned. All I feel is that it should be respected that people have different preferences that aren't always blendable. Plus if they can find a really interesting concept to explain their control of Succor that fits within the lore, then more power to them! I'll be honest, I do hope they come up with more lore friendly reasons as to why 'x' job can be used by more than 'x' race/nationality/nobody unless certain forces agree to the matter. In some ways I enjoy having some of the classes and jobs being limited from a roleplaying perspective, as it provides an interesting challenge to see just what sort of character concepts I can come up with due to the restrictions. However I know a lot of people are not happy with them, myself included at one point in regards to WHM lore though I've since grown to love the simplicity of Conjury. In the end however, whether or not someone wishes to give the middle finger to the lore is ultimately up to themselves at this point until we're thrown the appropriate scraps from the lore division over at SE.
