  1. /ouch BARGGGGGGHH But, looks good! I think that hairstyle fits the character better.
  2. Oh my god, Bea, you precious bb. I'm so happy with how she turned out.
  3. My main, Beatric, is a female Roegadyn! You're not alone in wanting to see more people play them. I'm sure we'll make them super popular.
  4. I'll be on Bahamut as well. Paying homage to my FFXI days.
  5. Ah, thank you for clarifying! This makes me even more excited about the classes!
  6. I'm losing my shit. I have no doubt that I will be playing all three right away. They all seem to be some kind of pet class, but it almost seems like Summoner and Scholar concentrate on different things. Maybe Summoner is damage and Scholar is healing? Thoughts?

    E3 Trailer

I'd like to think it's the former.

    E3 Trailer

Ahh, there's just so much info to take in here! I'm so glad to see so many elements that are new to the game. Admittedly, I was a tiny bit worried about them simply re-skinning the UI, but the game largely being the same. Doesn't seem like it anymore! And those Limit breaks! I don't think they showed them all, but the ones shown were really cool! WHM seems to be something like Benediction, PLD puts up some kind of protective wall, MNK just kicks ass, BLM uses meteor... Did anyone notice any other classes?
  9. With E3 here, I changed the thread title to match a lot of the non-MMO games that are coming out. So, you know, talk about MMOs and non-MMO games! And with that, I have to spaz about a few games that I'm looking forward to. Pokemon X/Y? Oh my lawd, it's in 3D and it's encouraged to bond with my Pokemon? Swooooon. Destiny just looks plain amazing. Kingdom Hearts 3! And... of course, DARK SOULS 2!!! Aside from that, I'm still eagerly waiting to get my hands on Animal Crossing: New Leaf. But, I've been keeping that pining in check by playing Pokemon Black.
  10. This. I actually skipped the PS3 completely, went for the 360 but only ended up with... what, like 20 games? All the while I have 100+ on my PC. I mean, I don't doubt in the future I'll end up getting my hands on the Ps4 (i.e. steal Shuck's), but for the most part I've pretty much lost interest in console gaming. And I really hope developers realize that a lot of people are pushing towards this and continue to release more games on PC instead of being console exclusive. With that being said, I understand completely why people are interested in the PS4, as there are already a ton of games for it that look interesting. I'll just stand in the side lines and appreciate them from a far.
  11. You know, now that you mention it, I'd have to say the same on this. I mean, I don't know how long I'll last with ARR. I know I naturally get very antsy with my MMOs and typically move on to other things as soon as I've experienced all there is to experience, but this has been the first time in a while where I feel as though I might be around longer than 2 or 3 months. Wildstar... is a totally different beast. But, I'm ok with giving my attention to two of my MMO loves. I am that kind of giving.

    Tis a Pleasure

Yeeeeeah, another female Roegadyn! Welcome to the board!
  13. Not at all! It's for everyone and anyone. c:
  14. I think you should do it! Being a Hyur would be so perfect for her as far as appearances (and a strong woman who don't need no man) and Hyur, in my opinion, encompass that quite nicely. As far as names go... Eh. There's no reason to say that perhaps the characters changed their name to match that of the Miqo'te culture because they liked it. Or that, perhaps, their parents grew up immersed in the culture, even if they weren't Miqo'te themselves.
  15. I was searching through FFXIV screen shots for reference materiel, and it just got me so stoked to get back to playing. So, I started to wonder what you guys are most excited about in getting back into the game? I mean, aside from just seeing that the game has to offer as far as new things, I'm super stoked about seeing Summoner and how it'll act as a class. Will it be like FFXI at all? Or will it be more like what they intended to put out in 1.0? (Some mentions of traps and stuff). Company housing! Especially if they make due on their promises to make some pretty extravagant stuff. This opens up some great places to experience some RP. Skill chains. At least, I think? I thought I heard mention of bringing back and revamping the skill chain system to be more ...functional than it was back in 1.0. Skillchains were a HUGE thing in FFXI and I really hope they become as important in FFXIV. And of course, throwing Bea out in the field and weaving the most ridiculous stories about people.
  16. Agreed! Everyone needs a little Lalafell love. Speaking of which, I don't think I've seen many dedicated Lala RPers in 1.0, so it's nice to see more people playing 'em.
  17. Ohlala! You're the first person I've seen going for a female Highlander and I'm glad! I personally think they're the more interesting of the two Hyur. I love their character shape, size and just... everything. So, hooray! Haha, no kidding, right?
  18. That's the thing, though. I didn't have any intentions of what she'd be at the beginning. And as I have said several times, people have been notified, but even if I didn't tell 'em or they didn't accept it I'd still go ahead with it anyway, 'cause they're all adults and can handle a little change in a character that doesn't belong to them. I understand that people are very worried about those that I interact with, but... It's been taken care of. And I promise you they can handle it. They could handle it even if I didn't tell them. I have faith in them. I believe.
  19. Seriously, I don't know how else I can word this without coming off as rude, but his has gone on entirely too long. Seeing that I am the author of my character and not you, I really don't care if you think I should keep my character the same. I don't care, for some weird reason, that you think it's bad writing that I want to change my character. Even if I didn't mention it to people. Even if this wasn't in the works. Even if I just decided TODAY to change her, it's still my right as the creator to do this. That's one of the great things about RPing with other people; the wildcard aspect. I'm not entirely sure why this thread was turned into a debate if changing your character was acceptable or not. Maybe some of you didn't actually read my post and just saw the title? I don't know. If such is the case, let me reiterate. The thread was asking people who are planning on changing their character's gender or race if they would be changing any smaller personality traits to go along with it. There wasn't a question if anyone felt it was right, or good enough, or justified. There was just a simple little question for those of us who're going to be going through with it, for the potential of brain storming and like minded ideas on the matter. Of course, it's interesting to see other peoples takes on the matter, but a lot of the responses have been pretty discouraging. Also, I'd like to thank the people who've been supportive of this change (even those behind the scene. Winkwink), because apparently this is a pretty huge deal to people.
  20. Uhm... Isn't that kind of being dealt with in the creation of this thread? Also, why are you assuming that I'm just not telling anyone? This idea has been in the works since 1.0 when they announced that female Roegadyn was going to become an option. I told everyone that I RPed with in any length. I was damn excited. I don't think there'll be any issues with people randomly deciding to change their races without telling anyone and just showing up out of the blue completely reformed.
  21. ...Why? It seems to be a common theme with all of these posts that I need to look to my fellow RPers to see if I should change my race or not. I'm just not starved enough for validation that I feel that I need to ask permission to dick about with my character. In fact, that wasn't even the topic of this thread. In all honesty, I'm pretty confused with the type of reactions I'm getting from this.
  22. I can't speak for other people but for me... this isn't true? When I designed Bea, I didn't have any idea what race she'd be picked as. I went with a miq'ote not because it happened to fit the character itself the most, but just because everything else was kind of boring to me. Needless to say, Bea doesn't actually display any characteristics of a “traditional” miq'ote, but just a regular person who grew up with constant contact with different nationalities. If the female Roegadyn were an option in 1.0 I would have chosen them right away, but it wasn't, so I didn't. I'm not entirely sure why there seems to be so many negative connotations regarding swapping out an avatar to one that is more to your liking for you as the player and the character. Also, I don't think it was really be that confusing if someone decided to change race? I mean, You can imagine what would have happened to your character if the world they lived it was completely destroyed by a giant dragon, but it's inconceivable to just pretend that a race swap was what a character was from the get go? Except, in my instance, (and I'm assuming anyone else who does this) the core of the character remains in tact? I mean, the things that I'm changing are so minimal that you'd probably never even notice them when involved in any typical interactions. ...So, it makes no sense why I would make a new character. Yeah, I really don't see what the big deal is, here.
  23. With the addition of being able to change 1.0 character's races (Or gender, if you feel so inclined) is anyone going to be changing anything about their character to fit their new look? For example, when I first made Bea she was a Keeper of the Moon Mi'qote. She's a very awkward character from the get go, but I never felt like I could use anything side from her personality to push this. Since then I've decided to change her over to a Sea Wolves Roegadyn. This allows me to really to throw her size around to add into her awkwardness. On top of that, I'd really like for her to be a little bit more in touch with her heritage with customs and sometimes using Roegadyn specific words at inappropriate times. ...Also, Bea and Issac's relationship now reminds me of that of Balthier and Fran as far as appearances, and this makes me all sorts of giddy.
