The Screenshot Thread [Tag Your Spoilers]
SapphireSkylines replied to Zyrusticae's topic in FFXIV Discussion
My free company had an event last night that Zhara performed at and my FC mate took really awesome screenshots of her performance. Zhara's such a pretty kitty! -
balmung Friendship Festival! [Closed for Recruitment]
SapphireSkylines replied to SapphireSkylines's topic in Chronicled Events
The La Noscea village is officially full up! However, the Ala Mhigo and Ul'dah villages are completely empty and we are looking for one more booth for Gridania. Like we've said in earlier posts, a booth could be a game, a small shop, a class, a lecture, or some sort of mini competition. Or a booth spot can be filled by a performer who may want to play and represent the culture. Message me if interested! We also really need volunteers for our pyrotechnics team, security, and regular people to help around the booths. -
Hey there! I have a bard character on Balmung. She's in a singing group that's similar to an all girl's pop group but she also does a lot of solo work that's a bit edgier. I'd be open to have Zhara meet and befriend fellow entertainers, Alexei and/or Sin'dell would be great. I also sort of know Kiki from Beat Breakerz and I invited her to be apart of an event I'm running. I think she'll have a 30 minute slot and I told her if she wanted to invite Beat Breakerz that she could. Not sure if she told you or the rest of the group about it. If not, here's a link to the event's RPC thread. If you're interested in having either one of your characters perform, we'd be welcome to have you!

Like a lot of people who posted before, I've done both as well and I've had great experiences with both. Another reason for prearranged romance is that it does take some trust OOCly to get a romance RP going. Like a lot of people mix IC with OOC and it causes a big drama explosion, especially with romance RP so to avoid drama, I sometimes like to pre plan things with RP partners who I trust. On the other hand, it's fun to also have romance develop between two characters with a player you may not know as well. I have two examples of both that are successful. I had pre planned a romance RP with Liara's husband's player and they have a very beautiful story. Liara and Jaja are probably one of the most compatible couples I've RPed. We did hit a rough patch when we had some OOC problems happening between us that had nothing to do with the RP so we took a hiatus from Liara and Jaja for awhile, but we did get back into it and the couple's just as happy as ever. The other, which wasn't pre planned was Zhara's relationship with Chachan. A few scenes in of them RPing as friends, I wasn't sure where they were going to end up, but they ended up in a pretty good spot. They have their differences from each other but I think they compliment each other very well. Both couples have been active (minus Liara and Jaja's OOC hiatus) for about a year.

Hey there! What you have so far looks good but I do have some pointers. Scholars originated from Nym which was the main city state in Vylbrand (La Noscea) about 2,000 years ago, give or take. I think it's possible for a character to become a scholar, if they end up digging in the ruins of Nym and come across a soul stone. Becoming a summoner is even more difficult. Soul stones are very hard to come by, not to mention just learning how to summon an egi takes work. Your character would've either needed to slay a primal, or have traveled to a place where a primal was slain to gain it's essence and aether to make an egi. And Raen don't have clans. Only Xaela have clans.

I know a lot of people have tried and failed to make a lalafell LS, but I'm going to attempt it. Welcome to the page for Lalafells United, where lalafell roleplayers can connect with other lalafells as well as be apart of a unique in-character community. So who exactly are Lalafells United? IC: Founded by Liara Lia, Lalafells United (LU or United for short) is simply a small group of like minded lalafells who just want to have fun and enjoy each other's company - at least that's what it appears on the surface. Will your character enjoy the lalafell linkups and make new friends along the way? Or will your character also dig deeper and discover the hidden historical society - The Belah'dian Council? OOC: We are just a group of roleplayers who happen to play lalafells! You're free to look for RP connections, enjoy OOC conversations, and attend our IC events! Non-lalafell players are also welcome, whether they're wanting to get into the RP or just because they like lalafells too. Currently looking for lalafells who want to make friends, lalafell and non-lalafell alike who are interested in the history and culture of the race, nerds and geeks who love history and magic in general, and characters who may want to take part in some wild adventures, whether they're out in the filed or in the tavern. If you're interested in joining, you can contact me at the following: In-Game Names: Liara Lia, Y'zhara Zekial Discord: Liara/Zhara#1370 RPC: SapphireSkylines Tumblr: http://zhara-liara-yuni.tumblr.com/

Trying to understand *main story spoilers ahead*
SapphireSkylines replied to Rybo3282's topic in Character Workshop
Welcome to the RP community! There's nothing wrong with playing like you're a fellow adventurer who assists the warrior of light. However, probably upon starting out you may be better off just having your character be an adventurer in general. Maybe they have met the WoL a few times and helped them, but maybe they also have gone on their own missions and adventures as well. A character like that would be able to fit into a lot of RP scenes, plus there's adventuring RP FCs all over the place, you'd have no problem finding one. As far as what gender you play, RP what you're comfortable with and what you feel is right for your character concept. Like it was mentioned above, Discord RP just means instant messaging RP. I've never heard of anyone doing RP in voice chat though I'm sure there are people who do that. Good luck figuring out your character and the RP community! -
balmung Friendship Festival! [Closed for Recruitment]

Othard no longer needs any booths. It is full up. We also need more performers now since a few people dropped out due to scheduling conflicts! If you have any bard characters that would want to perform please send me a PM. Thanks! -
I don't think there's any hard strict rules when it comes to that in Keeper tribes. It's just tradition that the males travel. If they stop to breed, maybe they would stick around and help, maybe they wouldn't. It would depend on the keeper and his mate I would guess. I also see nothing wrong with him helping other tribes with his hunting skills. You could even do a similar thing with a Seeker, have him decide to leave the tribe but travels as a nomad and helps other tribes with hunting. Maybe he traveled up northward into the Shroud to Gridania and gained an interest in conjury while up there. Though one thing to keep in mind is that I think it's a bit taboo for Seekers and Keepers to intermingle and mate. This wouldn't apply much to the adventuring caste because they sort of set down the traditions of their culture to help the world. But I would think some Keeper tribes would be weary of a Seeker who wanted to try and help them. I could be wrong though.

Bump! Updated some information. -
Woo! Can't wait.

*Starts giving the very biased answer.* It's very good of you to ask these questions. Well first and foremost, when picking your tribe for your miqo'te, you should almost always pick Seeker. Why? Because they're awesome. Keepers of the Moon are hippie vampires who hate sunlight, thus they hide in the forest and have a stronger affinity for the night. Keepers are also known to be mean poachers, and the good Elezen of Gridania used to protect nature and the poor little critters from them, but have recently accepted them into the city. Seekers really like the sun, and the desert, and are very sexy and tan. Do you want to be sexy and tan? I would think so. We also have the hottest women. Case and point -

Sounds like fun! I'd probably be interested in having my bard character perform but I'm also on Balmung. Hope the event goes well.

I know my FC is going to put at least four of those elephant statues in the house. And yay! More stuff and things and changes.

Time Between Heavensward and Stormblood
SapphireSkylines replied to SapphireSkylines's topic in Lore Discussion
Thank you so much Sounsyy. You're the best! -
I've tried doing research for a friend and I haven't found much on it. How much time is between the end of Heavensward and the beginning of Stormblood? I personally think that there wasn't much of a time skip but another friend of mine claims that Raubahn said it had been a few years since the events of Heavensward (3-4 years). Anyone got any lore articles on this that I can look at or have any insight on the question? Thanks!

[align=center] [/align] Hey there RPC! I'm proud to announce that WYNG is running it's first event - the Friendship Festival. The point of the Friendship Festival is to celebrate Hydaelyn's many cultures and to embrace our differences by having a concert, fashion show, and having many booths and stands that represent different cultures. There will be many food choices and activities to participate in. When?: Saturday August 19th, 12pm-5pm PST Where?: The Goblet Exchange, Ward 10 Since we just kicked off planning for the event, we are still looking for people to help us out. What we really need: - Several FCs or individuals that would be willing to run a booth for any given culture. They would need to run some sort of mini game, activity or store. We still need booths for: Ala Mhigo/Gyr Abania and Ul'dah. - A few people for a pyrotechnics team. We will be having a fireworks show at the end of the festival so a few volunteers would be nice for this. One slot left! - A few volunteers in general who can help with booths, food stands or be security personnel. What we sort of still need: - Models for the fashion show. - Performers for around the booths. If you're interested in any of these positions, PM me on RPC and I will answer your questions and give you a link to the official event Discord. Thanks. Volunteer sign ups are now closed.

Zhara would probably be a Meloetta. "Its melodies are sung with a special vocalization method that can control the feelings of those who hear it." - Pokedex entry for Alpha Sapphire, Y, and Black. Liara could be a number of Pokemon but I picked Blissey. "It has a very compassionate nature. If it sees a sick Pokémon, it will nurse the sufferer back to health." - Pokedex entry for Silver.

Weaving A Tale: RP Connections (Mateus)
SapphireSkylines replied to M'naase Rahz's topic in (Antiquated) Linkshell Hall
I'm interested in joining! My in-game name is Relana Spiros, but I'll look for you as well. -
I might as well bump this up again to keep this thread on the board. I wouldn't mind more connections on Balmung but due to how things have been with the long queues, the time I spend on there has been significantly cut down. Until the population problem is fixed, I'll probably only be going on there in the mornings (if I can) and on weekends.
