  1. Computer Tech for a locally owned business. We mostly service other small businesses.
  2. We're upgrading to 10 here in the office, one computer a day (this is a computer tech shop, so we like to make sure we don't kill our computers all at once!) From what I've seen of it, it's pretty nice. People used to Windows 7 shouldn't have too hard a time making the transition. As for my home computer, I'm waiting to see how my games will fare on it. IE, letting others try it first, and keeping an eye out for the QQ.
  3. "Seldi Witt" isn't a sell-sword, but she's a courier that "doesn't ask a lot of questions" Feel free to poke me when I'm online! (Usually starting about 1.5 hours from this post on any given weekday)
  4. Been doing a lot of mining lately, so naturally this: [video=youtube]
  5. A boring story is the only "bad" turn my characters' stories can take. I care not whether they're having good times or bad times. All I care about is that things remain interesting. Even should things get boring, I haven't stopped "loving" the character. I'm simply bored with the story. In those (rare) cases, I just move on, perhaps to return later. Of course, since strife usually makes things interesting, I suppose that my characters' stories only ever get stagnant because my characters have achieved their "happy ending". Which is a good thing, I suppose.
  6. Seldi loves puns. You know all that "Naul" pun spam you get whenever someone mentions the mob? Yeah. Seldi would totally and unapologetically participate in that.
  7. I would love to RP crossovers with other worlds that I've had a Seldi in. (Different character, but similar name and setup in each world). Only problem is, I don't think I could do it well, and even if I could, I know a lot of people would hate it based on the idea of crossovers alone. And I don't blame them for that. It's muddy waters at best, and often done poorly. Still, I'd love to be able to pull it off.
  8. Seldi: "..." Me: "Uh..." Seldi: "Deal with it." Me: "...Okay. You know I don't have life insurance, right?" Seldi: "Yes." Me: "Then why?" Seldi: "I was bored." Me: "...Are you going to try to kill me if I go to get divorce paperwork?" Seldi: "Yes, but only halfheartedly. If you can get the paperwork going without me catching you, then I'll let you live." Me: "That's kind of sick, Sel." Seldi: "I know. You love it. And if you don't, well, you deserve it for all the crap you've made me deal with." Me: "...Fair enough."
  9. Along this same lines, does anyone know of a timeline posted anywhere?
  10. I have a "template" for the character I play, and part of that template says that she is never human, but should be able to pass for one with the right application of clothing or lies. The original character was a halfling in D&D, which could pass for a human child - and often did. I don't see this Seldi trying to pass for a Hyur, but I like to think the capability is there in a put-Spock-in-a-hoodie kind of way.
  11. I had actually *wanted* to start over on Balmung, but I could never catch the character creator open. I finally just caved and transferred my character, and didn't have any problems at all. I didn't even see a warning that suggested in the server was full, the transfer wouldn't go through. I definitely suggest giving that a shot. IMO, the monetary cost is well worth avoiding the headache of trying to slip in when the server is rarely open.
  12. There's a reason Seldi is the kind who would absolutely keep little trinkets to remember others by, and yet she has no such things.
  13. Seldi is deaf in her right ear. Her right eye (the grey one) has better night vision (but lower color resolution) than her left eye. She can't taste sweets.
  14. True. I guess my main point is that you don't *have* to use HTML. But, yeah, the Bancroft templates have a good chunk in there.
  15. Kind, Wise, Intelligent Miqo'te Male Keeper. I know those first three bits aren't a part of the physique, but they're way more important to Seldi than anything physical. Should smell nice, or at least not smell bad. She has a sensitive Miqo'te nose and all that. Vocal tone can't be too grating. Communication is important for a relationship, after all, and she can't exactly focus on what you're saying if your voice makes her ears bleed. She's also terribly fond of males that are shorter than her, though that's not really a deal breaker.
  16. No, but it's not HTML. It's wiki markup. Kinda like BB code for forums, and the text editor does have a toolbar to help you out. EDIT: Ah, and I'm slow. Ah well.
  17. Very good question. In other settings, I've never been quite certain of my own character's stability. There have been times where I thought she'd be fine, only to have something unexpected push her over the edge. That said, I doubt anything "simple" could push her over. Whatever were to drive her to madness would have to be long and sustained.
  18. Don't really know anything about the Social Class stuff. Just dropping in to say, "Hello and welcome". Hello and Welcome!
  19. Brb, stitching, "AZZKCKR" onto the rear of my Chocobo's barding.
  20. Seldi most certainly doesn't want to be a hero. "Why would you seek to be a hero?" she'd ask. "For you to be a hero, someone must firrst be a victim. You would wish people to sufferr so you may have a chance at fame and glory? Seems rrather selfish to me." Mayhap she's had some bad experience with heroes in the past. Who knows?
  21. Hmm. Well, Sel isn't Maelstrom, so one would wonder why her chocobo is wearing Maelstrom barding to begin with. I haven't settled on a good reason for that, and it's currently entirely because I OOCly like the look of the barding. (I really should come up with an IC reason, or at least remove the barding when in character. Then again, I haven't even decided if the chocobo is in character or not!) That said, if someone questions Seldi's allegiance to Limsa Lominsa - She's terribly fond of the city, even if not officially affiliated, or even a regular fixture - she'd probably just ignore the question. If the asker didn't leave well enough alone, she'd flippantly respond that she loves her homeland, and ask if that's not enough. And if they continued to press the matter, she'd likely become increasingly hostile about it. To her it would be about the same ask someone asking why you love your mom. +1 to this
  22. Got a question: What is the extent of fur on a Miqo'te? Most of them look like they just have fur on their ears and tail, with normal (for humans) body hair other than that. Still others look like they might be as furry as a standard house cat, and the texture simply isn't detailed. So what's the call? Do we know?
