  1. Apple Butter BBQ Ribs! Yum~ And a delicious, succulent lamb shank! I'll be the first to admit that I probably had WAY more than my fair share of lamb around the holiday season. ><
  2. I just spritbind. Dat sexy Savage Might IV materia profit.
  3. I guess May 26th simply because of the 3 month spacing + Spring 2015 release projection + ARR launched on 8/27/13, so it's close enough to keep things as neat and consistent as possible. Runner-up Guess: April 28th Possible Push-Back Guess: June 2nd or 9th
  4. I'll just repeat what I said on another forum: Persona: Saint Tail + Magic Kaito + Sly Cooper Edition. Which I am TOTALLY okay with. Unfortunately, I won't have the console to even play P5. So I must sadly watch from afar. =/
  5. It hasn't faded away. No, he won't personally be able to show up every creative idea he had stored away in his mind, but I have a feeling that Rooster Teeth will not allow his creations to just fade away. He will be missed by family, friends, and fans alike. That much is certain. Well, of course not. I know his creations will still go on. I mostly just meant that we lost a good one way too soon.
  6. I was very saddened by the news. He always seemed so sweet at any public event he showed up at and he created many amazing things. A bright star has indeed grown dim and faded away. Rest in peace.
  7. My understanding was that the Blessing of Light was essentially just magical plot armor against super dark baddies. The Echo is separate. (Yes, an eloquent explanation. I know. )
  8. I am crying @ the cover of the Cloud of Darkness theme. I knew it would be amazing. They did such a good job. T_T
  9. To clear up any remaining confusion, I took these shots from the trailer:
  10. How dare a development team for an MMO utilize methods that promote efficiency. What is this NONSENSE?! :tonberry:
  11. I think that's just Alphinaud being hyper polite.
  12. I don't think that's giving SE enough credit, personally. FFXI was one of small handful of MMORPGs were lore was taken pretty darn seriously. (To such an extent that it actually annoyed me when I was younger...) I don't think they'll be throwing anything or anyone under the bus come 3.0, Au Ra included. For 14, a lot of lore is broken (or dodged, as I think is more appropriate to say) for the sake of making you and your character feel extra special. But that's a majority of MMOs. They have yet to write anything that makes us largely unable to function as RPers, so I think we're gonna be okay.
  13. Fair enough, I can agree on that much.
  14. I'm sorry. I'm just kidding, honest. XDDDDD
  15. Not really. You could apply the same argument, but it fits poorly. We've seen plenty of Garleans in the story so far and a lot can be gleaned about what they're like from what we can see. Additionally they're all comprised of the five races and conquered peoples (other than the purebloods of course), which we know a good deal about already. I had all of that in mind when I said what I did. Garleans are so varied that we don't know what's what when it comes to their day to day interactions/culture other than "conquer, conquer, and more conquering". We only know things from the viewpoint of story NPCs, and even that isn't exactly the most insightful. We have no primer for what their personalities usually consist of (outside of the assholes in the storyline, but they have to be assholes, because they're villains), we have no primer for how they should or should not react to anything exclusively Eorzean (it will/may vary depending on where they came from, if they're half-blooded, if they grew up in the Empire, etc.). We actually know less about them than we think we do. I'm not saying it's the exact same thing, just a similar premise of knowing too little to make assumptions based on any stereotypes. That's why I said a person should stay extremely vague. You wouldn't bring up the backstory at all, to anyone. You don't even make one up for your own sake. So when 3.0 rolls around, you could fill in blanks. I can't say that I know they won't do some sort of "and now, all of a sudden, all other Au Ra magically are born/awaken" bullshit, but nobody knows, of course. But I'd like to have more faith in SE's writing team than to think they'd pull some lowly, contrived nonsense of that sort.
  16. Or someone that recognizes an individual's interactions with people are necessarily colored by their cultural and geographical background and that it's impossible to know how someone would react to things Eorzeans do/say without at least some understanding of Au Ra culture and history? The same argument could be applied to Garlean RPers. That and the behavior/reactions of Yugiri and the Domans don't seem to suggest that Othard is centuries behind or ahead of Eorzea in terms of technology or basic common sense. It was pretty much just "wow, new areas", "wow, foods I haven't had", "wow, Primals", and "wow, birds that are horses!" if we count Oboro's commentary on chocobos. That was all attributed to simply being a Doman foreigner. You don't really need racial infliction to convey any of that. Does a person need to be aware of a race's stereotypes to RP it? It helps with authenticity when dealing with racial-specific issues and subjects, yes. But if you're actively avoiding those... then what's left to be required to know?
  17. I never thought cross-race breeding to be impossible with the Lalafell. (Edit: For the record, nor did I mean to imply that I was seeing them as eternal children or anything... so let's just toss that notion out.) I am merely concerned with possible structural complications...
  18. A fair amount of people roleplay Garleans and we don't exactly have an overwhelming wealth of information on them. Well, we know a lot more about Garleans than we know about Au Ra. I think trying to roleplay them now is just begging to be forced to retcon the majority of your rp. Doesn't hurt to start thinking about stuff, but literally all we know about them is that Yugiri is one and they aren't from Eorzea. Most of the worry falls on how RPers would handle said RP. If they don't have some big, in-depth backstory for the character that they plan on sharing with everyone they meet, and the character is kept physically covered at all times IC... there shouldn't be too much to retcon later. They can just be extra patient and avoid racial topics until 3.0. Basically, if you're bad at dealing with extreme restrictions (ex: an inexperienced RPer who wants to avoid breaking lore like the plague)... don't do it. If you aren't, and you can execute it in a wise and careful way, you shouldn't have too many issues.
  19. Beer is my least favorite... but I keep trying different ones in hopes I'll find something I really like. I'm sure I will one day. I mostly love highballs, mojitos being my absolute favorite. My favorite girly drink is probably a pina colada. Basically... give me anything with rum plus some sort of fruit juice, and I'll drink the hell out of it, haha. For wines, I lean towards whites like Moscato and Pinot Gris. My favorite red is probably a tie between Shiraz and Pinot Noir. And if I'm the mood for something creamy, you can never go wrong with Kahlua. If I were to recommend anything to anyone, if you're the type of person who likes sweet drinks but you aren't fond of whiskey's signature bite? Try a maple or caramel whiskey. They tend to have a little less "edge" to them, I find. I've got a bottle of that sitting downstairs in my kitchen right now! It makes a super yummy spritzer.
  20. A fair amount of people roleplay Garleans and we don't exactly have an overwhelming wealth of information on them. As long as they don't go running around shouting "I'M FROM THE EMPIRE, EVERYBODY", while staying vague as hell if questioned about their background/origins, most of us don't even bat an eyelash. *shrug*
  21. I can personally easily see Miqo'te + Hyur and Hyur + Elezen offspring happening, albeit with possible complications. Roegadyn, maaaaybe. But nothing with Lalafell, because... No. I'd also like to assume that the offspring of cross-race couples would distinctly come out physically as one race or the other once fully grown (i.e. no Elezen-height Midlanders or Highlanders with cat ears/tails). Of course, I have absolutely zero idea of what SE has in store for hybrid people we may see in 3.0, so that is just hopeful thinking and speculation on my part.
  22. Did the people in question actually know anything about voidsent in lore? I know that some people don't bother acknowledging these things because they don't want to pick fights, but the other half of the time, no one says anything because they just aren't even aware.
  23. *considers going for Nirvana... begins to feel mental pain* But I am very happy about the sheer amount of things we're getting with the update. Delicious, delicious content!
