  1. I admit that moment I saw you put up this thread, I knew it was going to turn sour at some point. Luckily, it hasn't gotten too bad... ...yet.
  2. Actually, if I was going to add another nitpick... The males are kind of too slender and lanky for my tastes. The Elezen have already got that aesthetic covered. If they were broader, I'd be a lot happier with them. (And I'm saying that in addition to my wishes that the males & females were more equal visually.)
  3. I was reminded of them a bit, too! (But the Au'ra are less, uh... sensual, to put it as nicely as possible.) I've already got a concept brewing in my head for one. Waiting's gonna be absolute torture! Lmao, "less... sensual." You mean not as erotic or slutty? I SAID I was trying to put it nicely. Edit: Plus, it's a synonym anyway, so... Totally agree with all of this.

  5. Just wanted to say that the piano concert at the end was utterly lovely. Looking even more forward to The Primals' concert tomorrow than I already was!
  6. If the female dark knight armor has a boob window, I will flip a table. While I am interested in Astrolgian, I definitely want to make a dark Knight. I already have character ideas that I want to explore. I need to have a dark mysterious lady clad entirely in intimidating armor. Quoted for emphasis. No boob window on my sexy fem DRK please! >=o
  7. Yeah... Which makes sense for their stature, I guess. andyeahiknowtinypeaheads
  8. You know, it didn't fully click with me at the time I was first watching it, but... the Au Ra females run like actual people do. They don't have that dumb "anime girl run" that the Hyur are cursed with or... whatever it is that Elezen females do when they run. This pleases me.
  9. If my characters get significantly injured in RP then I make them scarred from it, yeah. An exception would be Y'raja, however. She always tends to have various knicks and scars across random parts of her body (most notably her face) because she cares little for delicate healing techniques. If there's no big risk of infection, she doesn't care, lol. So while there isn't a distinct story behind any of the scars themselves, I guess you could say the appearance of Y'raja's skin as a whole tells a story. About how she carries herself and what activities she usually engages in.
  10. I'm hyped for everything. I love the Au Ra, I love both of the new classes... It's a good night, indeed!
  11. I made the poor choice of looking at this thread after being awake all night and having no food in the house... *intense, ugly sobbing* T____T
  12. I agree that the version of Oblivion on this album is much, much better. It almost doesn't sound like a Radio Disney song! Meanwhile, Thunder Rolls sounds like a downgrade, imo. It's like... the cover arrangement sucks out all of the magic and mysticism it has in the original. =/
  13. ...I COMMEND YOU FOR ACTUALLY REMEMBERING THAT VIDEO. God, it's been years seen I've seen anything IOSYS-related. Damn.
  14. Astrid: Scholarly Knightess Y'raja: Tale Weaver
  15. Just wanted to toss in my two cents... Personally, I think that BRD falls into an odd category because the influence of their songs might depend on the interpretation. If a character's songs double as a "long magical chant" of sorts -- that is to say, hearing their song actually affects someone on a magical level... Or if the character simply sings to motivate allies in battle with zero magic involved... Both scenarios can make the character a BRD (mechanically). How much that actually means for RP will vary from person to person, though.
  16. This morning it seemed to open some time around 1-2pm GMT (I made a character exactly at 8:30am EST). I had been checking around 6-7am EST for the past week, so I was actually too early, lol. I suggest trying around 1pm GMT tomorrow if you can.
  17. As of right now, Balmung is open.
  18. I would reeeally like to update Astrid and Y'raja's wikis when I have the chance. I don't plan on making a big summary of EVERYTHING that's happened, but I do want to cut down on what I've written and just fine tune them some more. (That and some aspects of the characters as a whole have changed, so I want to communicate that.) I also need to catch up on Astrid's journal. I wrote some entries separately in a google doc that aren't in the thread here on RPC... There's so much that's happened. It's a little ridiculous, lol.
  19. If it makes you feel any better, the emote doesn't actually make the character models hug. You have to position and time it juuust right to get it to look like that sample screenie, sadly. =c
  20. Whee, all of the weddings~! \o/ I'm still trying to pick out colors and things. @,@ Also getting the $40 plan. This is the first time I'm having a character go through an actual wedding on-screen, so we're going ALL OUT. (Still peeved Astrid won't get to be Utena in a sexy tux, but y'know... Whatever, SE...)
  21. I'm just going to leave this here. For posterity's sake. http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Sasuke%27s_Blade
  22. As someone whose character is getting married, I'm pretty pleased with it all. I am slightly miffed that Astrid can't wear the fancy wedding tux (damnit SE, just let me be Utena!), but I'll survive. Also, I'm a bit confused on the two-person chocobo. Is it only for the leaving cutscene, or is it an actual mount that one or both partners get?
  23. For the time I've been lurking on RPC's forums, I've been under the impression that most folks seem to fall in-between the 'lore nazi' and 'free spirit' statuses. Or, that is to say, a majority are in the "bend it, don't break it" camp. But there are many different levels of this for each individual. I'm all for bending lore, personally... However, I do try to cling as closely to lore as I can afford to. Why? Because for me, it's a lot of fun to see what I can create under a certain set of restrictions. For others, not so much. And I can easily respect that. It's when 'free spirited RPers' start trying to force others to accept their head canon... or when lore nazi RPers start outright policing the RP of lore breakers... that things take a very nasty turn. As long as all parties personally involved with you agree with what you're doing, and everyone's cool, then just have fun and carry on with your business.
  24. ...This thread has my attention. Having Y'raja bard it up with other bards/performers could be a lot of fun.
  25. I have it in Astrid's backstory that she tried to practice thaumaturgy once but utterly failed at it... with the exception of ice magic. I figured that if conjurers are adept with water, why couldn't they freeze it as well? Also, if we're including mechanics in this... Blizzard II is a cross-class spell CNJ/WHM can use, so knowing that, I didn't think it was too much of a stretch. That's just my two cents.
