It had one after HW release. People found ways around them and ultimately doesn't solve the over-population issue.

Eastern. 8PM pacific. We still burn the midnight oil, but if you turn up at 10PST you're going to miss majority of the fun. He means 7 Pacific is the START time, as Pacific is three hours behind Eastern. Just be there and in line before start if you wish to join in on fighting. -

As a preface, I only read the OP, so might repeat some stuff: There are character's roaming Eorzea with missing limbs, and limps, so however you wish to play it off can work. Nerve damage is a good one, or you can go with the it just mended incorrectly. Nerve damage itself can't be fixed by Eorzean technology as it's not advance enough to have an electron microscpoe and such. The incorrect mending is easier to explain though to a healer, some of which will want to 'rebreak' said problem to properly mend but hey... That can lead to even more problems if not rebroken correctly. As it's your character, it's ultimately up to you how to play it off, and if it can be healed or not. The longer you've had said injury, the less likely some healer will be able to magic up a cure for it as the injury, in itself, has healed even if incorrectly etc. An important note: Don't make your character the injury. It's always important to not make the injury their sole focus, while maintaining the injury. Even people with injuries or disabilities have a personality and shouldn't be define by the injury themselves. I could go on a healer rant and the 'poof, you're fixed' however there's enough threads on that and I hope this helped, even if only slightly. If you want a description on how I did X'sylvia's vocal injury, I'd be willing to mention it in private as it can not be healed by healers.

There is a way to extend your life, and it's 100% lore compliant! *le gasp* *le shock* *LE HORROR* If you do the alchemist storyline from 50-60 you learn that it's possible to, not only create a clone of yourself, but to also transfer your soul/mind to the next body. It's the entire plot of the 50-60 ALCH quest line as a matter of fact. The alchemist in question keeps making 'clones' of himself and then transfers his mind/soul to the next body to inhabit. The difference between this and dying and being rezzed, is that he's living when he transfers, and not dead on the ground. I HIGHLY suggest doing the alchemist 50-60 questline if you choose this route of study.

Holy necro indeed! This post is from 2015, so wow! I assumed this was a new thread until I saw the date on the post. So just... wow...

It's unlikely you'll need to invoke that aspect of it very often unless you're running into a lot of Au Ra [talking in brackets] . You forgot the Ishgardians speaking in French. (Or haven't seen them.) That aside for a moment... Even the understanding of languages is different between Echo users. Krile can be quoted as saying they only get the 'gist' of something while you, as WoL, understand the full sentence in it's entirety.

I keep seeing people post this in every thread this is brought up. I find this reaction to be mean spirited and contemptuous. And it doesn't seem to be in the spirit of role play. It's weird where people draw the line between "okay, I'll pretend your character is/has this, but if you say they are/have this I'm going to be derisive and try to make you feel bad. Welllll not to play devil's advocate here, but I assume people don't come in here just for praise and people, like myself for example, will avoid them at any cost, and we are forced to use that IC to still let it make sense. Because I really don't want my characters to know (certain) NPCs, because it really shatters my immersion. There's quite a bit of NPC roleplayers who shove their RP down your throat and start screaming if you don't accept it. Everyone's allowed to go 'no' on whatever type RP. Whether it is just casual tavern RP, super serious events, ERP, or RPing with NPCs; if people don't want to, they should be allowed to step out as well. And really, I think that excuse of "its a drunkard/weirdo trying to re-enact x character' isn't really that bad. I don't even bother with it, unless they engaged me directly. I just u-turn, or ask them to leave. Same applies to all the voidsent and primals RP'ers... Why am I not allowed to murder them?! It's clearly stated that they must die and must be hunted! They're destroying Eorzea! Calling them touched in the head, drunk, or acting as a mjor figure is your ONLY safe option in those regards as... I can't murder the voidsent and/or primal threats since the scions and THM guild are clearly slacking. It's rather a kindness considering Thancred might have slept with my character in my head cannon but in the Thancred RP'ers head cannon she doesn't exist. Yes, some people rp knowing the scions or other major figures as well. The only other option is to not RP with people whom RP these kind of characters as Virella has stated. In the end, it has nothing to do with your choice, but the other person's choice to accept your head cannon or not.

You are indeed right as this has been brought up a few times in the past. Here's a link to at least two of the threads I know of off-hand. Thread 1 Thread 2 As for RP'ing a canon character... It's not my favorite thing to say the least. Not that I haven't met three Hildibrand RP'ers, and at least one full set of the scions, and the Sultana herself walking about unguarded as if saying she was Sultana in public was... A wise thing? Not my cup of tea, personally. As for the 'spoilers' you mentioned prior. A lot of the RP'ers have been RP'ing since 2.0 (or back in 1.0) so the continuity of the story gets broken if suddenly, Minifilia appears. The moment you hit 3.0, what Minfilia? I'm sure you can see why people would avoid such a situation, especially when said character isn't about when they, themselves, are RP'ing HW content.

As you can see, we were one muscular Highlander family down this evening, but the show had to go on! Tonight we had the Crystal Chronicle newspaper watching us and recording the events as they transpired. More on this when they put their findings to print! Without further ado, Fifty people entered the fray, but only one person came out on top! Congratulations to the winner of the 174th Grindstone; Livicette Rillemont! AS A REMINDER; The Grindstone coffers are running low, so it's that time again! That's right, it's time to bid for your first fights, or bid to face the Overseers! Information on next weeks Grindstone can be found HERE and we look forward to seeing you all there! -
In combat RP, do you take the difference between rolls into account?
Nodem replied to sima's topic in RP Discussion
This is something I personally take into account for when losing a roll. If I lose by 1 it's less pain inflicting then if I lost by a much large gap, for example. Same is applied to winning a dodge in which I might barely dodge, deflect, etc the move compared to it being a mile away. A lot of people do it differently, including a win is a win so they win however they'd like. I remember one time I did combat that each losing roll for defense (either side) the differences were inflicted inflicted as damage into our health pools. Example: Attacker 257, Defender 157 = Defender takes 100 points damage out of their health pool. -
Miss me with that shit, please. I'm... with you on that, actually. I'm mostly wondering how they're going to tuck away the fact that the Crystal Braves coup was funded by a sitting Syndicate member that seemed intended to kill the Sultana. What's the 3.0 throwaway for that not being treason, again? I mean, the Warrior of Light knows what's going on here and knows Ilberd's whole scheme was directly aided by whatshisfuck. The Throwaway is that the member that tried to kill the Sultana is, you know, DEAD. Raubahn killed him back in the 2.55 cutscene, and the other switched the poison for a sleeping agent instead so that it made it look like she died... Which yea, that should be a crime in itself and we should carve him up as well, but makes some sense why he'd do it. It makes the assassin believe their job is complete, makes them reveal themselves in strange ways, and ultimately got them killed removing a rival. I wish she'd just stayed dead though instead of getting this weird explanation to bring her back. Would have made Ul'dahn politics more fun as the WoL tries to convey the Sultana's last wishes.

Aoi has worked with, and hired Garleans in the past despite having a harsh past with them. Especially when she's seen all three phases of Doma in her lifetime. IE: Before Garlean rule, during Garlean rule, after Garlean slaughter. So she would be able to work in tandem with them, but would watch her back knowing they could betray her at any moment. She wouldn't do the betraying herself however. As for X'sylvia... I'm sure she could work with them for a common goal. But she wouldn't know what to expect.

Grindstone continued on, and we Beat our way into the New Year! 47 entered, only one came out on top. Congratulations to Takeshi Satoshi on being the Last victor of 2016, and the First of 2017. Hey, it was nearly 2:30 EST when we ended afterall. Special thanks to Togy Brandmakt for coming back to help with the Grindstone this evening and to Gegeruza Xixiruza for offering the Grindstone assistance before we even started for the evening. Help me out in more ways then just showing up. Of course thanks to everybody for showing up and helping, fighting, or just plain watching the Grindstone unfold. Now if you excuse me... Bed's calling... -

I was so expecting them to kiss, to the point where I joked "This will be the most explosive kiss ever." But hey, I guess Watchmen retains that award? It just, overall... Wasn't what you EXPECTED from Star Wars Movie but damn was it good. I'd gladly take K-2 into battle with me, and his humor was great. I definately want to see this one again.
