  1. I generally disagree with forcing game mechanics into your RP if it doesn't fit. The game was not built with RPers in mind, it was built for gamers. My archer needs lvl 15 CNJ to become a bard, yet ICly she has no aptitude for magic. I refuse to change her character smply to meet a game mechanic that again, was not made with rpers in mind.
  2. The RPC's stance has been pretty clear on this; they will only officially support Balmung and Gilgamesh. Doesn't mean you can't unofficially try to create a JP RP server. You can even advertise your LS and/or FC here. But to support even two communities is quite a lot, and honestly with all the issues people are having, and all the frustrations going around, its a good time for those two communities to really help each other out, not to try and create even more communities.
  3. An inconspicuous stool, in a well-lit corner. One does not notice the girl who looks like she belongs; like part of the crowd... like just another patron. In a way, she was. Though she did not drink, nor eat, but sat, and stared. A purple tail swished behind her as she watched the male Miqo'te with her mismatched eyes; one purple, like her hair, the other blue like the highlights woven throughout her do'. As the male Miqo'te carved his statuette, a small smile touched her lips, and she closed her eyes. There was a band playing; a low tune, but it was not them her ears twitched towards. Scrape. the sound of blade against wood, and the soft kiss of the shavings as they caressed the table. The steadfast hum, escaping his lips, working in rhythm with his hands. She found her fingers tapping in beat along with him, as a whispering hum of her own played in her head. When she found the right note, the right beat, she synced it with his, and found harmony. Abruptly, the perfect moment of unity was cut short, as the Miqo'te ordered something from a barmaid. The finished statuette was placed on the table, and the man regarded it. Now, she bound from her stool. Her stride was lively, -but measured. Confident, yet reserved; as though giving a mere glimpse of the boundless energy that lay beneath. She sat at his table with a plop, and then softly blew the shavings with a steady stream of wind from her lips, watching as they ran like wild things towards the dangerous precipice of the table's edge. She closed her eyes again, and tilted her head to try and catch their final resting place, on the floor of the Drowning Wench. She could not. "Hmph," she said, and put her hands on the table.
  4. For some reason I'd like to put quotes around Armor in that sentence. Actually, any of the Viera armors from ffta would be really killer =)
  5. Completely off-topic; I LOVE the look of your Ele, sparkles =)
  6. Though Cloud and Aerith are my two favorites, they have been overdone. So I'm gonna have to say... FRAN!!! Have her appear as a way to introduce the Viera race in Eorzea! I would sooo drool on my keyboard...
  7. Yay, congratulations and welcome to the party! =D
  8. Oh my GOD YES!!!! I thought I was the only one!! He also claimed I wasn't forest-born, and Iwas like 'uh... yes I am...'. I felt like he was invalidating my entire existence ;__;
  9. I play on Ridill when I'm unable to get on Balmung
  10. Things I do while milling about: *look for the funniest names. (I find them funny. Odd names wouldn't even bother me on an official RP server let alone an unofficial one. I'm a big fan of the male Roe named Healery Duff so far ) *random emotes at people. Sometimes its the best way to initiate RP. So far, no success. They probably just think I'm some crazy Wildwood who clicked on the wrong person! *Take many, many screenshots of the Gridania night sky. So pretty <3 *Hunting Log!! It's the best!

    A sad day

That nice of you to say, but Balmung has had every bit as much problems and issues getting new chars into it as Gilg.
  12. The RP servers supported by this site are Balmung and Gilgamesh. I personally am up for rping anytime, as it is the reason I am here. I'll try to level a little bit in the process too, though I also rp in parties!
  13. L is for Lapis Lazuli ... do I get a two-fer on that?
  14. Welcome! The two major RP servers are Balmung and Gilgamesh, so if it's RP you seek, you might want to consider migrating there. Regardless, good luck and nice to meet you!
  15. Good luck! Bal was down for about 12 hours yesterday. Finally was able to get on around 5am this morning
  16. I just find it VERY odd that people who play a multi-player massive online ROlE PLAYING game would have such a problem with roleplayers that they would actively give them a hard time.
  17. 3 hours waiting on Balmung and... nothing *sigh*
  18. Ioshi nodded, ordered something for herself from the current vendor, then led the way to the butcher, allowing S'demyx to pick out whatever he wanted. As they walked beyond the Quicksand towards the Central Thanalan, the gates of the city arched overhead, and the wide blue vista of the desert sky yawned over the endless sea of sand. Ioshi finished her food quickly, and walked at an almost leisurely gait. Heading North and slightly West, they followed a well traversed path towards Black Brush station. A few critters milled about; a swarm of wasps, a marmot... but nothing approached near enough to warrant attention. "So, S'demyx, tell me," she said as they walked. "I have always wondered at the nature of mercenaries in this particular city. Is it not easier to find steadier work in the colisseum? Or is that type of sport not to your liking?"
  19. I will leave this event completely up to Rock; since most of my w/e will be dedicated to levelling, and since I am on the Balmung server, I probably will not be able to volunteer to help out on thisparticular weekend.
  20. As Nica fell, the momentum managed to unhook the snag in the tapestry, pulling the large weave of fabric off the rack; covering herself and a patch of ground around her. Covered in such soft, abundant warmth, she began to purr while crawling around beneath it. The crowd that gathered began to ask a lot of questions: Who was this Hyur man? Why was he on the ground? Had anyone else seen a Miqo'te a few moments ago? In the confusion and chaos of the crowd, Nica continued to crawl the length of the tapestry. A midlander looked down, surprised to see the weave bulging and shifting beneath him, and he lifted his foot, trying to let whatever was tunneling through pass by. He nearly tripped. A couple of Lalafells offered to help Lodine up, while a female Seeker bent over to ask if he was alright. A member of the Brass Blades came around the corner, having heard the commotion while passing by on his night patrol. A few in the crowd instantly dispersed, but many stayed, thinking things could only get more interesting. At this point, VIII would probably feel a small tug on his sleeve. Looking down would reveal a pale white hand clutching the fabric of his shirt. Somehow, the Keeper had gotten on the outisde of the crowd. If she could get any paler she'd be a ghost. Trembling, blood continued to soak her robe at her side. "Nica needs to heal..."she whispered. "Can she?" This man looked a bit like her True Master, and thereby the only familiar thing to hold onto in this sea of confusion.
  21. ((So sorry S'demyx! Things got RL crazy for a few days!)) "Of course," she said, "Do you have any preference for food?" They were near the Quicksand, and she started to head that way, but lingered by some of the vendors who were lined up outside, many of which offered basic fare. "Just Ioshi is fine. I am your retainer for the day, nothing more. Certainly, I am no one special to you, so there is no need for formalities. If you wish me to call you anything, then I shall." Finding a vendor that sold smoked meats, Ioshi paused. "Is this okay? I do abhor the crowds of a noisy tavern, and this will allow us to eat as we walk."
  22. *Puts a plate of cookies under the blanket with a note* 'Dear Kin, do not be so shy! Most of us are very friendly!' Signed, Your friends at the cookie factory
  23. This. So much this. Everytime people start to panic over confrontational threads, people work it out amongst themselves like the adults we are. we are a large community of 1000+. We are BOUND to disagree on some things. But at the end of the day this community seems to believe in each other, and merely seek the opportunity to understand each other better, painful as that can sometimes be. +1 Nau and Twin.
  24. "Of course," she said, turning to face him. There was something infuriating about her voice, while at the same time sounding completely professional. It lacked... warmth. As though she didn't care who was in front of her, so long as they got the job done. "My name is Ioshi von Silver. I am an alchemist based here out of Ul'dah. As for what I require; I need you to fight. Specifically for my protection. There is a mine North of here, in the Central Thanalan called Hellsbrood. The tunnels are rife with antling monsters. As part of my craft I collect my own ingredients, and the tunnels have a mineral in their rocks that I require. I excavate, you protect. "Should things go awry, we will be stopping at Black Brush station to pick up a healer along the way. An old.... acquaintance that owes me a favor. If you feel yourself unable to perform these duties, now is the time to say so. And if you require any more answers of me, now would be the time to ask. Are you hungry? Part of your payment can be food, should you need it. I would hate for my guard to... fight on an empty stomach."
