  1. As the chase ended in Kallera's linkpearl. It looks like she had some free time to stick around with the others, the angle of the suns started to provide some shade nearby anyway, she stepped out, then noticed the sign in front. There was a sign at the tent looking for a guard. She looked to her hands. Kallera wasn't sure if Iteya needed an imposing figure, but the gauntlets she had, perhaps she could provide until the healer found someone who did. She decided to ask. "Excuse me, were you needing someone to help mind the place?" What with Iteya's tent as it was, what was the worst that could happen?
  2. I don't see how Rhalgr' being used as a summon and giving truth to Gaius' hypothesis is going to make the Eorzeans easy to conquer, making themselves on the level as the summoning beast tribes that the Empire has a policy of utterly destroying pretty much explains itself. What I CAN see it doing is not only gaurantee total war between Eorzea and Garlemeld, but cause primal summoning to be considered by Eorzeans, much like what Alphinaud and Alisaie feared with Phoenix. Having Twelve gods and goddesses to pick from and a war of existence, this can all but gaurantee destruction on a Calamitous scale. And Eldibus gets play of the game.
  3. "Fay..." Kallera held onto the waterskin as she motioned to herself, her own hand tapping her breast "I'm Kallera. I'm not from around here so, thanks for opening my eyes." The markets outside likely were selling some of them, so she had a good place where to look. Meanwhile, the chatter on her linkpearl soon gave word on the chase's. She turned her heard to show she was listening, then sighed as it continued, the cut, if she was going to get any, would be small. But at least she had a remedy for her problem, some water and a moment out of the sun made her feel ready again. Fay seemed to be looking at Iteya as well. Kallera took the hint, or at keast she thought she did. "Oh." She whispered to Fay "Did you need a seat too? I'm starting to feel ok now..."
  4. these are amazing!!! are there details for comissions?
  5. Kallera's eyes widened at the offer, taking a moment to observe the waterskin, she found the opening and raised to her lips. the cool splash never tasted better! She couldn't contain herself as she felt invigorated. The gulp was such an experience she took a smaller second gulp before releasing and closing the waterskin. "Hah! Ahh...Thank you!" Kallera said to the miqote, feeling refreshed. Looking at the miqo'te's shabby clothing, she assumed this was someone poor. Having known poverty a few years back, albeit not in Ul'dah, Kallera felt moved by the miqo'te's kindness as she reached for her gilpurse. "What's your name?"
  6. Kinda depends on the race and situation of the person that Kallera is dealing with. She's fought soldiers from the empire, the fully armored and masked ones sticking out in her memory. the closer to that image, the more on guard she'd be. If it was a full blooded garlean, or someone so well armored she couldn't discern their face. Kallera would find herself incredibly wary, whether it gets off the ground would depend on the severity of the threat. When the dust settles, she'd likely pass up the chance to make anything more of it unless she _really_ felt ashamed of her actions. If it were someone that was of garlean lands, but not garlean race (like the many hyur and elezen in their ranks) and she could see their face at least, Kallera would feel more comfortable, perhaps even curious about them, but would likely give a fake name if asked and deny it to her friends, seeing that they have had far worse experiences and fearing what they would think of her tolerance. If she had friends along with her when meeting with the garlean, She'd tilt towards whatever lets them both live, but be the one with a hand on the weapon, telling the person some version of "don't make me regret this."
  7. Kallera looked at the Lalafell. Being born in the Black Shroud, there was always some amount of shade or rain even in sweltering days like this. "Ugh...I couldn't take this year round." She stared away at the ground, annoyed with herself. As a full-time adventurer she was fairly active, and finding her stamina dwindling in the heat was becoming a bother. What with the street urchins and unsavory lots around the Quicksand, passing out would be very dangerous. She found herself eyeing a waterskin someone was carrying. "I keep seeing that." she said. Her curiosity raised, she was staring at the bag. Her throat felt dry, and she swished her mouth around as the feeling of moisture gave her a slight guess as to what was inside. "Water...?"
  8. Kallera will often uses terms that sound right to her, but are inaccurate for others. Example- She will call a person doing something perverted a "lush", even though a lush is someone who is drunk, not necessarily perverted. She doesn't know the proper meaning, and sticks with the way she knows...which is how her parents used it. Another example is "heart"- she uses that often with matters involving a person's soul or their emotional state. The way she would describe a person getting tempered would be to say their heart was being erased and replaced. Or a person recovering from a breakup is going to have their heart heal given time. She has not been corrected yet, though the difference had been noticed by at least one person. :fingers crossed:
  9. The shade of the tent gave her some respite from the heat. Syranelle apparently knew the person working here. when she heard that Iteya was bringing water, Kallera eked out a "thank you." between breaths. They both were dressed in robes and seemed to be faring rather well, compared to herself sweating with bare legs and midriff. It couldn't just be the tent...Kallera decided to ask the two. "Is it usually this hot around here? I feel like I'm missing some trick whenever I travel to this place."
  10. She was startled out of her fatigue by the alchemist, giving slight nod and a smile to her. Told to stay put in case the thief made their way back, Kallera looked around her surroundings while minding the chatter on her linkpearl. This seemed to be a tent someone set up to provide succor for the needy. Were the locals having trouble with the heat too? It was proving oppressive for her. "Hah, hah, maybe it isn't just me..." she wiped her mouth, she wasn't poor herself, but there doesn't seem to be too many people here..."perhaps a moment under the tent wouldn't hurt...."
  11. In the distance, there was a commotion as a hyur in rags fled from a duskwight elezen woman. "Get back here you lush!" Kallera yelled, running as fast as she could manage. Her sprinting had become desperate to close some distance. Soon enough, the elezen had lost her target admist the alleys of pearl lane. "Damn it..." Kallera slowed in front of the healing station and touched her ears to speak into a linkpearl. "I saw them, they were last seen in Pearl Lane." After the unheard conversation, Kallera took a moment to catch her breath near the tent, her pale skin being unused to the Thanalan sun. Kallera was lightly dressed (an arachne shirt and quartertights)and had wrappings around her arms and hands.
  12. A daughter from a bunch of piss poor poachers doesn't fall far from the tree, Kallera became an adventurer not a day after promising her parents she'd seek and honorable and honest life. And staying one the minute her flagging craftswoman business falls through.
  13. it's cool, figure its a good way to have her work through a sort of mystery other than her backstory.
  14. Thank you, I'm trying to come up with an affliction that would affect a DRK's control of Darkside. It sounds like it is feasible for an rp'd illness affecting some part of the process involved in mana regulation to exist.
  15. Is there any information as to maladies pertaining to one's personal aether? like, what would be the symptoms of a person's aether being imbalanced or disrupted? Is it different between personal aether being affected and aether reserves being affected? And are there remedies that exist for sicknesses or injuries pertaining to these?
  16. First of all, thank you very much for your responses. I have a gist on my chartacter's personality and how her darkside would manifest and express itself for her in and out of control. (she ended up getting hers in an investigation for fake job crystals.) In the rp group I'm with there are a number of DRKs, though how they came across it, the control and overall experience are likely going to vary. Despite being a Gridanian, I'm going to keep with the term, since it seems at least some people recognize the job in Eorzea even if reputation may require a bit of discretion(No parading my sword around).
  17. Kallera would either ignore. or get a marker and add "tattoos" to it. cause scary ghosts have tattoos.
  18. Thou shalt keep it interesting. Thou shalt speak clearly, free of mispelling, and as thine character. If thou rollst the die, thou must accept th' die's judgement. Thou shalt remember thine progression, and keep it holy. Carry thine character with respect, traits, and flaws. Narration is not thine shield, nor thoughts thine sword, convey on the surface what lies within.
  19. The elezen paid the smith, and left a bit extra for Zhara's treats. "Thanks, you two." after sheathing it, she gave a bow and started to leave, "I'll think I'll remember this place." She said as she was walking out. There was a man wondering about at the entrance as she left, but that was neither here nor there for her. When she was some distance away from the place she tapped her sword, causing it to disappear. With a deep breath and a dusting of her robe, she was ready to meet her friends, and ready to protect them. "Back to work..." She whispered, as she blended back into the streets of Ul'dah, another lass in the crowd...keeping watch.
  20. The elezen started feeling like she was being watched. she instinctively rubbed the back of her neck, covered behind long black hair. It was a tic having a sword on her back gave rise to. Zhara gave her the glass of milk she had asked for. "Thank you--ah! do you work here?" she asked Zhara as she took the glass. After a bite of her cookie, this time severing the wizard at the midsection, she started drinking the milk slowly. Even with her blade at the smithy's table, she felt reassurance.
  21. "I'll have the milk!" The elezen said to Zhara, waving her hand. Seeing the plate of cookies reminded her of her newfound friends, who offered treats of their own as they traveled. She even thought of taking up a bit of cooking herself to make up for it. The elezen took a cookie as she waited, thanking the miqote that was offering. It was shaped like a wizard. Seeing the worn hora, she wanted to ask Jana a question, but she seemed preoccupied. So instead, she tried breaking the ice a bit. "Everyone loves eating these in different ways." she said to Jana. She demonstrated her own, which was to put the cookie in her mouth and, keeping her grin, snap it at the neck.
  22. I'm trying to work on my character's(Kallera's)backstory. One gap that I have however has to do with her job and the nature of Darkside. As a Dark Knight, I tend to have her hide her weapon and glamour her armor to look as far away from a knight as possible, she is still one as far as her skills go. 1. In what sort of ways does a dark knight become one? Is communing a method to advance their learning of their art? 2. Is Darkside one common impulse of violence, or does it manifest in differently in different people like a Jungian shadow? Would Kallera's Darkside be different than another Dark Knight's? 3. iirc, "Frey" was seen as a rare occurance by Sidurgu, how is control over the Darkside usually attained? Is it again a matter of psychology between the user and their impulses? 4. I take it a habit of using Darkside for the effects would be a nono, right?
  23. Looking at the edge, the elezen gave the sword back for a sharpening. it was recently made. "Yes, please." She sat back down at the bench, and, seeing someone else enter the building, adjusted her robe a little and took a deep breath. "I've no idea how long it was like that, kept feeling like 'something' was wrong. It came up in little ways, an unexpected bump here ,a scratch there...might not have figured it out, if i had just myself to worry about."
