1. Pst. Hey. Hey you. Yeah, you. Over here- I got what you need! So, I can hit a few of your bullet points here probably all at once. The Mischief's Coven is essentially the Gridanian mob- organized crime. They have their fingers into the black market, information trading, spying, sabotage, and a whole lot more. They also employ private contractors on a job-by-job basis, as long as you don't have any issues with dirty work- and no, you don't need to join the FC to take advantage of any of this, either. The Coven runs a tavern 'front' with its own events and regular times, so you can pop in for RP with the seedy crowd pretty much anytime you like. Details are on over here: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=18157 That aside, you're always welcome to run into Kasi too; she's a wandering mercenary, trader, cook, and occasional bartender with ties (of course) to organized crime. She can serve as a link to the mob, or just as a potential friend, rival, or even an enemy depending on the job she's currently on. Regardless, but of luck on your search!
2. Hey there and welcome aboard to Balmung officially! You'll want to toss up a Making Connections post at here some point, once you have a fairly decent handle on where you want to shoot for with Aluria. There's a whole lot of niches out there, everything from treasure hunters to researchers, clans and even the mob, depending on what interests you the most!
3. Hey there and welcome aboard to the RPC! You're certainly welcome to run into Kasi sometime- she's a traveling mercenary, trader, cook, occasional bartender. She could show up as a potential friend, rival, or even an enemy given the situation. She has ties to organized crime as well, and can be a bit of an asshole on the first meeting to anyone who isn't Miqo'te. Beyond that, she's fairly easy to get along with. Do you have a particular niche you're shooting for with Chiron?
4. Hey there! So, Kasi is a mercenary that'll take on dangerous work as long as she's not being contracted to attack kin and the work has her traveling a reasonable about. She's otherwise pretty cheap on the gil side to hire. Apart from that, the two FC's I know of that do a whole thing on research-and-study would be Azeyma's Oath (treasure hunting, ruins delving, research) and Guiding Light (a bit on the smaller side, knowledge hunters and research). Both are pretty awesome groups! Here's quick links to both: Guiding Light -- http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=18654 Azeyma's Oath -- http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=18228 Best of luck on the hunt, regardless!
5. Thanks to everyone who showed up, and a special thanks to our all-star performers in the community, with whom this wouldn't have been possible! Last but certainly not least, thanks to Rhen who handled all the organization, setup and execution for what was certainly an insane night!
6. "The Union" Marriage between Kasi Nebuko & Liliro Liro, with the Mischief's Coven, Azeyma's Oath, Shroudwolf Clan, & Friends March 7th, 2017 Kasi and Liliro's wedding had been a long time coming since they first met at the Coven some months earlier. A whole lot had changed- and even more for the two of them- but still they kept moving forward. The ceremony solidified their bond as one. They were joined by friends, family, and even extended families too- with a reception at the tavern after the ceremony was over. It was the first time, and last, anyone would see Kasi in a dress. 7. Hey there and welcome aboard the RPC and to Balmung! Yeah, as Rhen said... you'll be up to your eyeballs in RP before long. If you want to get a running start, toss up a post on the Making Connections forum and you can go from there!
8. Hey there and welcome aboard to the RPC and to FFXIV! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! I'm sure you'll fit right in. You'll want to browse the FC listings to find something that suits you- you might even want to consider something like Shroudwolf (linked in my signature below). They're rather heavy on the Miqo'te RP via regular tabletop-like events and they have some casual raiding that goes on as well, I believe. Regardless, though, you can always toss up a post in the Making Connections forum and that ought to give you some more to play with!
9. We are T-30 minutes to commencement! Be there!
10. Hey there, and welcome aboard the RPC! Best of luck on the hunt!
11. Hey there, and welcome aboard the RPC!
12. Hey there and welcome aboard to the RPC and to Balmung! A fellow IT person in networking? And a Miqo'te master race to boot? I like you already. MMO RP can be pretty incredible on the whole- there's a lot of niches out there on Balmung, so if you have something in mind for where you want to go, that'll help a whole ton. Once you get connected (either via linkshells, free companies, or just making a post in Making Connections) you'll be off to the races!
13. Miqo'te master race. Ahem. Welcome aboard to the RPC!
14. Hey there! I can't really help much on the bard side (being a meathead and all), but there is a talent competition coming up this weekend which will feature a lot of singing acts. So, it may be a good opportunity to meet performers or just watch a bunch of shows! http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=18764
15. Hey there, and welcome aboard to the RPC and to FFXIV!
16. Hey there, and welcome aboard the RPC! Going down the list... With real time movement comes real time interactions. However, most people will generally give some leeway for others to have time to respond, but exchanges can be pretty rapid in some cases. If you're a slow typer, you'll learn to type fast in short order! You can mix and match /say, /emote, and actual emote animations in any way you'd like to, really; there's no real set standard. RP in this environment is very much an always-on deal- it's a persistent world, so character stories continue to develop even when you're offline. You can choose between the two, really. There's no real standard; some people prefer railroaded character development, whereas others prefer to live totally IC and let whatever happen, happen. It may vary between the groups you roll with, too. Personally I evolve Kasi's wiki over time as she develops and just continually update it as her story moves forward. Still, there are people who throw a pretty general wiki up and leave it at that- there's no set standard here either! MMO RP is a competely different level of immersion compared to forum RP. With MMO RP you enter into what is essentially a living, breathing world, where you are one writer among thousands, helping to pen what is essentially a community-wide story. There are protagonists, antagonists, and just innocent bystanders all. You are venturing into a world all its own, pretty much! So, to prevent feeling overwhelmed, it helps to have a general idea of where your character wants to go- a specific niche, if you will. For instance, would they join a clan? How about a merchant company? Are they interested in knowledge seekers, or treasure hunters? Or maybe they err into the dark side, and would run with the mob? Choose your niche, and write your own destiny!
17. Hey there and welcome aboard to the RPC and to RP in 14! There's a whole lot of niches out in the general community, so you really have the lion's pick. There's stuff from clans to merchant guilds, knowledge seekers, treasure hunters- yes, even antagonist groups like the mob. It helps if you have a particular direction that interests you the most! From there, you can create a Making Connections post and start networking with other people pretty rapidly. All in all, you've got a lot to look forward to!
18. This is a cool group of people. waves from just down the street
19. Hey there and welcome aboard the RPC and the RP scene! Diplomat, eh? Not one I've seen around a lot so far. If you're looking to get off the ground and running in a hurry, toss up a Making Connections post and see where it goes!
20. Hey there and welcome aboard the RPC and FFXIV! And there's nothing wrong with wanting to play a Lalafell seriously. They're not like Gnomes in WoW, anyway!
21. Hey there and welcome aboard to the RPC! Best of luck on the hunt!
22. I'll look into that one. Thank you. Definitely interested in not being completely city tied here. ShroudLife admin reporting in! Would certainly recommend this too- it's great if you plan to wander out in the wilderness a great deal. The original thread is dated now since the player has left the game for the time being- but the Discord link is still valid. You can poke the thread in my signature, and bug me in-game nightly for an invite to the LS!
23. Yeah, I avoid the Quicksand as well; it's entirely possible to survive and be able to engage RP 24/7 without needing to go there anyway- you're just more dependent on using the Making Connections forum and finding yourself some good Linkshells or an RP FC! Character looks pretty cool though! Kasi takes jobs on occasion out and around Ishgard, but I can't say I've RP'ed out that way more than a few times at most.
24. Hey there and welcome aboard to the RPC, Balmung, and to FFXIV! As someone who came from WoW not but about 7 months ago- yeah, I don't think I could ever go back at this point. The gameplay, scenery, and the community are too good to want to go back on! As for RP spots, personally? Most of mine revolve around player housing these days, but I also love just picking out random spots along the road in the Shroud to RP at too. ShroudLife does a lot of these kind of gatherings just randomly all over the place outside of the cities, and the scenery is so pretty it'd be a waste otherwise. Have you got character ideas in mind yet? Places you'd like to go? Might be worth tossing up a Making Connections post at some point- get a lot of links to other characters in a hurry!
