Meetat the Tempest Gate outside of Limsa Lominsa at the date and time posted. “A struggling chocobo rancher on the outskirts of Cedarwoodis requesting assistance after the Maelstrom refused to hear him out. A local gang of thugs called the red sashes has threatened to steal his prized thoroughbred chocobo if he does not pay them off for protection. The request stated they would be back in 3 days’ time to collect. The rancher has no way to pay this exorbitant demand and is seeking any assistance in fending off these thugs when they arrive. I think the last few transfers I heard about actually transferred from Levi to Balmung to get more into RP. Hello and welcome to Balmung! That is awesome that you already have a friend you brought along who is familiar with you and your RP style. Your character concepts sound good and I think you will have a lot of fun with MMO RP. Since you are somewhat bringing an established character over and enjoy writing you may want to look at setting that character up a Wiki or Tumblr page for others to get to know your character while giving you another creative outlet. If you are looking for someone to RP with you can always send me a tell or stop by Gridania to say hi. A great starting point would be to check out the event calendar and see if any of those sound like something you would enjoy. Hope to see you in game!

Hello and welcome to the RPC! Lately the only way to get on Balmung is to do a server transfer, unless you end up winning the lottery and are able to find time to make a character when nobody is on. Glad to hear you are enjoying the game and I hope to see you on Balmung soon!

Hey Ryslo, We spoke in game a little about this and I will try to catch you again sometime so we can discuss some upcoming events for your FC and the Hydaelyn Protectors LS. I would be interested in attending the next time you guys have an event and I can let everyone in the LS know about it as well since they are pretty closely themed. We are going to be hosting our first event here shortly once I get all the details worked out and I will extend and invite to your FC as well. If you ever need to get a hold of me feel free to PM me on here (I think you said you were available in game during mornings mostly)

Sounds like a plan. It might be a bit tricky to track down some of the discord servers that only RP out of game, but use the FF lore RP. Most of the ones I have seen are for supplemental RP for when they cannot be online with their actual characters. If you find a good list of ones that allow that I would be interested in checking that out as well since I spend a good amount of time on discord.

I will toss in for transferring to Balmung as well. It was one of the best decisions I have made and easily pays for itself in enjoyment. I went from constantly taking breaks from FF and burning out on the content/grind to a thriving community of awesome people where my characters future is what I make it. I really like your characters and the profile pics you created for them!

I like that character concept a lot and I think there is a lot of room for creativity. I think a surgeon or even some type of herbal healer would be fun to play and still fit that archetype you are looking for. I know there is some type of medical help linkshell where they take in wounded or respond to field injuries if you are looking for that type of action.

100% this. Anytime you are going to have a somewhat antagonistic encounter with another player it is essential to communicate and make sure you are both on the same page with expectations. I think you could find some FC/LS's that cater more towards the racial tensions in their plotlines if that is what you are looking for as well.

I think a lot of this is going to depend on what group you are RPing with. If you are looking to get into a very heavy lore based group that wants to run strictly off the canon. You can expect some more of the rigid class/race based roles. One thing I would keep in mind is well is that you do not have to RP your in game class/job as it appears in game. Race is a little trickier to get around but I am sure some people do that as well. For example, if you wanted to RP a profession or even just be a commoner you could RP that as well which would not really have an in game class/job equivalent. I RP a character that has absolutely no magical talent in game who has a pretty similar role identity to being a warrior, this however does not stop me from actually playing the game as a lvl 60 scholar or any other magical class. I just don't RP as a scholar when I interact with other people with my RP flag. Ultimately this is my opinion, but in RP I want people to be who they want to be and play a character they enjoy even if it doesn't mesh with mechanics or lore. If you want to be the worlds only white mage that breaks canon, 100% do it and you can justify it as much or as little as you want. Will that turn off some RPers? Sure it might, but if that is what you enjoy playing I would never hold that against you.
