Just finished this event and wow what a night! Staff was incredible, guests were awesome, and the atmosphere was great. Cannot wait to attend something like this again!

Hey Theo, You might be interested in checking out our LS for the Hydaelyn Protectors. It sounds like his background being saved by a healer he might want to pay it forward and help others in some way. Guess it depends on his personality. An excellent decision! When you land on Balmung be sure to look me up and we can RP. Deahfel is normally hanging out in Gridania or the shroud somewhere when she isn't stuck in her office at the Protectors HQ.

I would give the FC listings a good once over and see if there is anything there that catches your eye. You mentioned what classes/archetypes you play but not really what you are looking for story-wise. Are you looking to be adventurers and mercenaries? Are your characters good hearted people or more of an evil alignment? That would help narrow down the choices significantly. If you are looking to stick with paladin and your SO is ok being a knight you could check out Knights of Eorzea run by Ryslo. I have RP'ed with them and they have a pretty good storyline that I would say fits your serious RP style. Along that vein if you want something FC agnostic you can check out our LS for Hydaelyn Protectors we have some pretty good plots going currently. Hope that helps!

As a former Ultros player myself, it is well worth it to bite the bullet and transfer over all the characters you will want to RP on or even make some new ones for that purpose. I think you will find success comes much easier on Balmung when attempting to get established in RP. Glad to hear you liked 15, I found it an enjoyable experience myself and thought it did a pretty good job of bringing that sweet nostalgia home.

Deahfel would be interested in being a client and/or friends with Riley. She is easy to get along with and does spend time out in the field travelling when she is not overseeing her Protector duties. She also enjoys art and can spend hours just looking at pretty stained glass, which is her favorite, I think the two of them could find art as common ground. I do like to do social/slice of life RP with her as well so they could easily visit some taverns if they end up hitting it off. As far as being a client goes: She made a promise to herself a long time ago that she holds to this day as a response to a tragedy when she was young. She would likely want something to symbolize the oath she upholds and lives by. That would be something she would want to discuss in character and get Riley's artistic input on how to best implement that.

It sounds like your character would be a good fit for our Linkshell (Hydaelyn Protectors) since she has a drive to help those in need. We can always use more good guys trying to make a difference. My character is often hanging around in the shroud if you are looking to get your feet wet with some RP! I would give the Balmung event calender a careful look and see if any events pique your curiosity. Those are usually a good starting place to see what FCs match your style.

She was quick to alert the Protectors to a quickly devolving scene just a few blocks away in the goblet where a woman was being mugged by a group of thugs. The protectors quickly readied themselves to respond and made their way to the scene. Arriving on the mentioned street corner they found the muggers carrying the poor woman off on their shoulders. Attempts to diffuse the situation failed as challenges and insults flew. With tensions rapidly rising, the real plan of these mischievous thieves was beginning to unfold back at the headquarters. With a successful diversion created by the muggers, a lone thief was able to infiltrate the house and relieve it of a few of its treasures. As quickly as he had stolen the goods, he made his escape leaving little evidence of his activity. Meanwhile the commotion down the street began to draw some attention as neighbors and passerby congregated to see what all the ruckus was about. The Protectors moved in decisively engaging the muggers. Both sides fought valiantly, but ultimately the Protectors won out subduing each of the criminals and binding them for arrest. Just as the Protectors were handing over these criminals to the Brass Blades, a confident Elezen man arrived on scene. The man identified himself as Croix commanded instant obedience from the brass blades. Quickly ordering the freedom of the muggers and earning the ire of the Protectors. The man seemed beyond reproach, threatening to call down the wrath of the brass blades if he was harmed. Tensions were high as the muggers and Croix escaped the scene without further pursuit. The Protectors seem to be accumulating adversaries at an alarming rate!" Special thanks to Mischief's Coven for working with us on this event and providing a great combat experience! I think a making connections post or checking out some of the Balmung events are a great way to get started. If you are looking for a more solid plot driven story you will definitely want to get hooked into a LS or FC that has an active story plot that lines up with your character or your interests in RP. I think a making connections post with what you are specifically hoping to RP in would get you some responses. Arriving just before the coming trouble, the Protectors were able to establish a forward watch and secure the rancher's prized racing chocobo inside the ranch house. Soon after, a large group of men wearing red sashes were spotted on the path just north of the ranch approaching quickly. The Protectors, still hoping to resolve the situation peacefully, allowed the red sashes to approach and attempted to parley with them. An ostentatious man stepped forward for the sashes demanding even more gil or the bird to be turned over. As the negotiations seemed to come to a halt, he reached into his cloak and produced some kind of alchemical potion that produced a large cloud of smoke obscuring the house and signalling his other forces to begin the ambush on the house and scouting position. Two of the sashes infiltrated the ranch house from the rear where they found the well prepared Protectors waiting for them. At the forward scouting position, the Protectors scurried for cover as the sashes unleashed a barrage of arrows. Chaos erupted in front of the house as a large melee ensued. When the smoke cleared, the Protectors had successfully fended off the ambush and protected the ranch and its occupants. Several prisoners were captured and brought to the local authorities for trial. However, the ostentatious leader of the red sashes was not found in the aftermath. He seemingly fled the scene under the cover of the smoke." A special thanks to Eldrick Northe who graciously volunteered to Co-GM the event and to Ryslo Suramlo of the Knights of Eorzea FC for reinforcing the Protectors on this mission! We got some great feedback and will be posting our next event shortly once we have the details!

Anytime! Kasi would love to have more sparring partners. Actually, she spars with Deahfel and a few other people too, so I imagine if you meet either of us, you'll probably end up running into the other. True story, if you end up RPing with one of us you are bound to run into the other at some point. Hydaelyn Protectors have an event coming up on Thursday 1/12 if you are interested in helping some folks and putting away some bad guys (details in the signature post). If you can't wait until then I am sure our characters could meet up in the mean time!

Hi Kei It sounds like our characters would get along pretty well. Deahfel is a strong warrior who is transitioning from the life of a full time adventurer and working on putting down some roots and helping the community. She still trains/spars everyday to keep her skills sharp (sometimes on her own sometimes with other PCs). She is in the process of starting an order of volunteer knights and protecting/helping people is very important to her. She will take work contracts out in the field and loves to drag other capable adventurers along with her for company. She will not work on more dubious contracts and prefers ones where she is removing criminals and thugs from the streets. When she isn't busy with the above she is relaxing at the inn with a nice hot cider. So it could be fun to try to rope your character into any of the above. Let me know if that sounds interesting to you and we can figure out a fun way for our characters to meet up!
