Hello~ everyone! I’m Sy’rath, or just Sy’ if you are feeling friendly. ☆〜 I’m fairly new to the FFXIV RP world but I’ve been super interested in it after I got invited to my first IC venue! I’m still shy and not at all sturdy on my RP sea legs but I’m not gonna let that stop me! I would love to know of some good, or even bad, venues or spots that serve food and/or drinks in a restaurant or bar setting. Preferably with a menu card as I think they are super cool and help add to the feel! I’m hoping to get Sy’ to go around experiencing the tastes of Eorzea as I figure out my in game rp style~ *I have done other RP on games like ARK but never seriously. So, I’m hoping to up my game so to speak. Any who, Nice to meet you all! \(^ω^)

Well, hi! This is Tenshin and I'm, well, new. Fairly new to the game, and completely unknown to FFRP. However, I would very much like to delve into it, get my writing going, and get to know likeminded people to interact. I feel a bit lost because I don't know where to look for people to RP in game, so as soon as I found this forum I was ecstatic. Character backstory will be divulged with chem; it's part of the gimmick. Hope we can RP! - Tenshin

hi there! Im really new to in-game rping but have a lot of experience rping on tumblr and in discord MMORPG background: Mainly ffxiv for about 2 years now. RP experience: tumblr for about almost 5ish years and then discord after that. Character ideas/info: Looking to rp my bounty hunter xaela, named Banu. She’s quite the character. How did you learn about the coalition? From an online guide! What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? (e.g. Light, medium, or heavy) Honestly just starting this so probably light to medium. Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc.) im a busy student and i work 2 jobs along with other extracurriculars so this is very much a hobby or fun thing for me. If anyone has any recommendations for Discord Rp servers for Crystal/Mateus please let me know! Im trying to get into the community.

Hello! I am a new player to FFXIV and I just joined my first server. Currently I am looking to meet some new people. I would really like to find an RP guild that is open to new people, especially if they are okay LGBT members . I am on Coeurl server atm, but I may switch if I need to, the other servers were all full when I was making my character. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions for guild to join! Please don't be a afraid to message me about it!

Hello...I am an experienced RPer, but I wanted to try Rping on FFXiV. I am a male and play male characters. I was looking for a patient partner who can show me the ropes, preferably a female. Also I am in the behemoth server. If anyone is interested let me know. We can determine a story or plot together.

Heya guys, my name is Kay, and please allow me to tl;dr about myself! MMORPG background: I used to play WoW! For a little while. I was only on for two expansions, Cataclysm and Pandaria but I had fun getting into shenanigans with my RP buddies on Wyrmrest Accord. RP experience Uhhh… Lemme do the math. T-twenty? Twenty years I’ve been at this pretending hobby? Spread out across a bunch of platforms, mainly Livejournal and Dreamwidth and a smattering of message boards and MMO experience, with a smidge of Discord. Character ideas/info I have just the one character right now! Her name is Rune, and she is my special snowflake and I like her a bunch. She’s an amnesiac Au Ra Arcanist (say that three times fast!) and an exile/runaway from Garlean, looking to find her place in the world and to better understand herself and her abilities. Why yes, Terra IS in fact one of my favorite FF characters, whatever gave that away? Been having a lot of fun with her so far, as OOCly and ICly I get to learn the ropes of the lore and the game. I’ve got a character journal for her set up on Dreamwidth, too! Over here: https://rune-explorer.dreamwidth.org/355.html How did you learn about the coalition? I waited until the witching hour, and the perfect alignment of the stars, called upon the hidden forces of the internet to guide my hand, and… Googled FF14 RP. What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? (e.g. Light, medium, or heavy) Medium. A little goofy at times with my emoting, as the writing above probably shows. But ready to do the dramatic stuff as well! I also learned that I really love going out into the world to RP and have adventures. Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc.) Let’s see: I write nerdy fanfic but I’m too embarrassed to link my account. I draw nerdy art too, which I’m a little more comfortable about sharing. My favorite Final Fantasy games are 6, 7, 8, and 10. 9 is a game I respect more than love, but still think it’s cool. I’m also playing on the FF14 demo right now instead of the full game, just getting a feel for it right now. And I have a standard poodle IRL! He is a good boy; the bestest boy in fact.

Greetings people who would read this, and thank you for taking the time to do so. I am Random User. I suppose I should introduce myself better than that, though MMORPG background My MMORPG experience started 5ish years ago, when I first played Albion Online. I didn't last long there however and quickly moved on. I spent my free time whenever I was bored looking into MMORPGs I could play, slowly finding one after another that looked interesting, such as Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine (Or ReImagine, when I played it), Black Desert Online, Bless Unleashed, DC Universe Online. These I played on and off throughout the 5 years. I did along the way find out about Final Fantasy XIV and tried it out, but quickly left because I was grossly unaware of the fact that the free trial didn't have a time limit and was worried of putting too much effort into something I'd inevitably ignore. I spent the most time playing SMT: Imagine, and up until about 2 months ago, that was my main focus. Queue me rediscovering FFXIV and giving it another go, armed with my new knowledge of the lack of a time limit on the free trial. I got hooked almost immediately and within a week of me starting the free trial I bought the actual game. A week later and I had bought Shadowbringers (Not long before it went on sale, lucky me). Since then I've been thoroughly enjoying my time on the game. RP experience My memory's a little hazy on exactly when, but I must have started roleplaying nearly 7 years ago. I've spent a lot of the time not playing games (Including MMORPGS) investing into roleplay. I usually focused on text-based roleplay, which involved detailed descriptions of characters, what they did, and how they did it. Since trying out roleplaying in MMORPGS, I've been hooked on the extra freedom that can come with the 3D space. My favourite part of literature and roleplaying in general was the 'show, not tell' idea, which is made easier with games. I've found the lack of needing to describe a space and instead letting the area do the describing for you to be almost relaxing. Recently my text-based roleplay has hit a roadblock, and I hope that expanding further into FFXIV roleplay can fix that for me. Character ideas/info I have so many ideas already filling my mind, including a lot of the stereotypes and such. I would describe them here but I'm worried that with them currently jumbled up in my head, I'd spew out some mixture of ideas that wouldn't work well with each other How did you learn about the coalition? Google! I simply searched 'FFXIV Roleplaying Community' and found this website. What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? (e.g. Light, medium, or heavy) Probably medium/heavy, with a bigger lean on medium roleplay. I expect that as my experience in FFXIV roleplay grows I'll slowly start leaning further towards the heavy side. Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc.) I'm currently studying Engineering. My hobbies include programming, video games, reading, some writing and roleplay.

Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong area, but I was just wondering where I would go in European servers for fun RP free companies and events, went to one on Spriggan and it was some of the most fun I've had in a while online so was just wondering where to get some help and advice. :L Also My characters name is Riri standard adorable Lalafell healer that loves being the cheerleader.

Hello everyone! Hope you guys are fine and all doing well. Really excited and nervous to be here. I've always wanted to start RPing but, never had the guts to do it. I've been playing FFXIV for a couple of years now and have a bit of experience with table-tops. However, I am quite newbie on my RP adventures. I am constantly overthinking the background of my character and never take any action. But now I quite eager to start RPing and making friends. Please let me know if you have any advice from where to start. I am from the Primal DC so I am not sure if the RPC is big here. Thank you very much for the tips. See ya

So I am by no means new to RP, but I *am* new to RPing on an MMO. So. Uh. Hi? Anybody have tips, tricks, plans, anything to tell me so I don't awkwardly fingergun and moon-walk my way out of the situation in fully-fledged fear-anxiety?

Heya, everyone! Call me Aki. I'm 20+ and looking to further expand my RP horizons here! This is my very first MMO and I'm...doing my best. However, I've been doing roleplay since I was very young (I was that kid LARPing with their friends during recess), but when it comes to the written word, I've been doing this for about 11+ years! I love writing, it helps me destress, I love being creative and coming up with new characters or fun plots... It just works out for me! And because I wanted to find other people who did FFXIV RP... I ended stumbling onto this place while scouring around. Very excited to be here! Personal stuff aside... I've got- currently- 5 characters around the Crystal DC that I'd love for you lot to meet! I'll do a quick, written introduction of them here, but I hope to further promote them in full later, elsewhere. Rhela Dakwhil- WHM (later, & DRK) Keeper Miqo'te. Nonbinary (they/she), and PanPolyam. My main, and WoL! Born of the Twelveswood and having abandoned home to experience the world, they're that wide-eyed, innocent adventurer who hasn't quite learned their lessons yet. That every good thing isn't guaranteed, the nicest people can be the cruelest, and so on. Though they're slowly learning these lessons, figuring out where they belong in such a world... They don't know yet what's in store for them. [ Can be found on Goblin. Currently, has friends in two other players: Ah'dan K. (SAM and primary companion) and Vulkan A. ] Ajisai Sumida- SMN (+ AST) Raen Au Ra. Female (she/her) and figuring out her sexuality. Born a rich merchant's daughter in Kugane, life had gone...ordinarily enough for her, up until her early teens. White seeping through her hair, making her parents panic. No healer they could find gave advice on what was "going wrong" and it would eventually push them to seek out the Azim Steppe- homeland of the Auri- to try to make sense of things. It was during all this pushing and shoving around, her life in upheaval... That Ajisai ran away. Learned how to become an Arcanist, set out for Limsa to make it work... Though their story of slowly learning to help people, break away some of those high walls...has slowly led them back to Kugane. To the Azim Steppe... This time, hoping to learn more about the history she knows so little about. [ Can be found on Zalera. Has also made friends with Ah'dan, and I consider her story tied with Rhela's. (Rhela and Ah'dan being WoLs, Ajisai simply being an adventurer who Happens To Be Here. Will be seeking relationships w/ other Auri who know of Xaela culture or potential old friends from Kugane/Doma. ] I'karus Tia- PLD Seeker Miqo'te. Male (he/him) and...who knows. Probably bisexual; he doesn't think too hard about it. Much like the mythological figure for which he is named after (and yes, doesn't doesn't exist in FFXIV; work with me here), I'karus is all too fond of flying too close to the metaphorical sun. Before life led him to Ul'dah, he'd been a drinker and a fighter. Picking fights wherever he found himself, causing trouble, and generally being a thorough nuisance to ANYONE who tried to offer him a kindness; to help him out of this pit he made for himself. It took...a breaking moment he won't admit to. That he no longer talks about...to wake him up. Sure, being a Gladiator ain't a great start for someone trying to "turn his life around," but it's all he knows. And he figures...it could be a good enough start. [ Resides on Coeurl. Literally is just based off of the song "Icarus" by Bastille... Thought, "Wow, between this song and those new wings in FFXIV, wouldn't it be cool to have an "Icarus" character in-game?" Was shocked nobody else had this idea... So here we are!! ] Alexios Chaunteau- BRD + NIN Ishgardian Elezen. GNC (any pronouns) and...I don't know yet! (To be honest!) The short of it... Is though Ishgard was fine enough, even with the Dragonsong War going on... Alexios simply had enough of it. Impatient to go other places, meet people, and have fun without the level of strictness the Holy See put on Ishgard on the whole, he made his own way. From escaping the city (and unknowingly having his family name blacklisted under current ruling thanks to...someone's underhanded methods), reaching Dragonhead, and scurrying off to Gridania... It's been a lot! But he doesn't mind it much these days; content to learn up close how to use a bow and fight for any old reason he chooses~! ...Now it's just a shame that he picked fashion over all else. [ Resides on Goblin. He is going to get the Gyr Abanian Plait and nobody can stop me. And yes, I do have an alt addiction. I'm good. ] Kinara N.- WHM (later, & DNC) Veena Viera. Female (she/her) and pansexual. Much like other Veena, Kinara was born among the Skatay Range. Though originally sheltered and content with her life among her home forest, a game among friends turned her daydream years into a quick nightmare. Robbed from her home, Kinara went through a few short years of chaos (to say the least of it), before eventually finding an opportune moment to attack her then-captors and rush free. Running and running... Until eventually, taking a cart to Gridania. Her early years there were spent learning conjury as a way of "self healing" and coping with what happened before. When she started finding peace again... She said her last goodbyes to the forest and took life back into her own hands. Having worked a short time at an Ul'dah pillowhouse to understand the ropes, she now utilizes her time to go sightseeing and earn money by keeping those with loose wallets company. If you've got gil to spend and need a daytime companion or a nighttime squeeze, you'll find it with the ever-patient Kinara. (Those looking for friendship alone, however, and wish to leave gil out of it... You confuse her. Perhaps even worry her... Kinara doesn't really know what to do with non-Viera women who want to spend time with her...but other Viera women- Rava or Veena- get that free!) [ Located on Balmung. A close friend in Ukina O. (a Rava Viera DRG). There are some more...intense stuff going on with this character- moreso than even I originally planned!- so... I did try to explain what goes on here as PG13 friendly as possible? However, if anything is too much or sounds bad/suggestive, lemme know! I'd be happy to edit this or hide it entirely! I did my best! ] WHEW, that was a lot! Thanks for reading through it! There's varying kinds of storylines, experiences, and whatnot I'd love to work with these folks... Each with more specific ideas for their RP worlds, to put it one way. (While Rhela is friendly and outgoing to those who show them even basic kindness, Ajisai (and Kinara) would need more of a "slow burn" approach to relationships.) I typically prefer...a light to medium style RP? However, I'm incredibly flexible, so if there's a way you prefer to play (or write!), I'm up for it! I like to discuss RP ideas and plots first, anyways; it helps figure stuff out and I like making friends! Works for everyone involved, I'd say. As well, note that I am up to multishipping! I simply love writing ships, something about it never tires for me, and if you're the type to not be for polyamory... Then you don't have to be involved in it! Again, RP flexible. In short, talk to me about anything you'd be interested in, and we could find a way to make it work! Thanks for reading~! (Outside of this, I do enjoy cosplay, writing fiction (non-fandom related, too!!), and occasionally doing art. Really am interested in gpose, but still figuring out my way with it! Hoping to do voice acting/voice over as a career someday.) (Gosh, I hope all of this made sense and is okay; I'm super nervous!!!)

Hi All, New player and a new RPer at least in terms of MMOs. I've RP'd in other places but I've never RP'd in an MMO. FFXIV somehow appeals to me on a much deeper level than most of the other MMO's I've tried out. I have a little bard Lalafell by the name of Rat Duemila. I have no idea what I'm doing. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it. I really want to get into RPing, but I have no idea where to start.

Hey everyone, how's it going? Experienced rper who wants to try doing it in FFXIV here. I've been playing FFXIV for a little under a year(I took a few month break from the game and came back last month.) My friends and people I know online usually call me Bert, but I've had some people in game call me by my character name. But Bert would probably be the best to call me, so my brain doesn't get confused. MMORPG background I've played a few MMORPGs before FFXIV, such as Tera, Guildwars 2 and Maple Story 2. But FFXIV has been the one I've stuck with and played the most. RP experience I've been rping since 2013, and I started on, believe it or not, Minecraft. But after Discord came out, I switched over to rping on there, because the server I was rping on died. I use to be able to go and do rps in public, but now I'm more shy, which is something I'm working on conquering. Fast forward to a month ago when I came back to the game. I stumbled upon an rp fight tournament(I think that was what it was) and decided to approach where they were doing it and find a place to sit and watch. I watched the entire thing until the end, and after it was over, that's when I decided that I wanted to try and rp in this game. I've also made wayy too many characters since I enjoy doing it so much. But Cirya is my only FFXIV character currently. .. Still haven't gotten very far in that though, my shyness causes me to just stand in the corner and just listen to others rp. I'm hoping to conquer that soon though! Character ideas/info I don't have much set for Cirya yet, because of my lack of knowledge on the lore(Which I'm working on fixing) My only real Idea is she has a lack of social skills since she trains and fights a bit too much. How did you learn about the coalition? From this guide https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/d28dui/rp_in_ffxiv_what_is_it_and_how_do_i_get_started_a/ What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? (e.g. Light, medium, or heavy) Since I'm just starting off, probably Light and possibly medium later on, depending on how comfortable I feel. Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc.) I'm currently attending College, so I have a weird schedule of when I could rp. Anyway, I'm going to go ahead and stop myself before I just keep going on and on. I've been looking around the forums, and will probably make a wiki page for her soon. Thank you for reading my long post, hope you have a good day/evening/night wherever you are!

Hey all! My friend and I are long time WoW RPers from Wyrmrest Accord, but WoW... well we don't wanna play it anymore, let's leave it at that and prevent me from ranting. He and I both made Seekers, who are brothers. The general story is that my they were separated from their parents while in Ul'dah, and my character, the older of the two, was kidnapped by slavers while the younger brother escaped and became a sort of street kid. The older brother ends up escaping eventually, and believing his younger brother and parents both to be dead (likely because he was told that by his captors repeatedly) he elects to stay in Limsa Lominsa, as a mercenary. MY QUESTION IS- he was born S'vael Tia. Would it be breaking lore if, given his circumstances, he dropped his tribal affix, and the Tia, and went by Vael Stoneclaw, choosing a strong sounding name given his line of work? I'm not sure how strict naming conventions are in lore and whatnot. Glad to be here and thanks for reading!

Hello and greetings! I am a new player to Final Fantasy XIV and I wanted to try the game as I have tried a lot of MMORPGs throughout my life (Aion, Tibia, Flyff, Perfect World, Lineage 2, GW2 etc) and it's been a long time ago that I have found a good game. Recently I don't know why I started getting a lot of notifications and news about FF returning from a game that was doomed and don't know what and recently with their updates and stuff. And then I also have been interested in role playing because of D&D and the show Critical Role that made be interested in role playing and last year and up to the beginning of this year I found a group of D&D here in my town so we started playing (i was also DMing while being my first time lol). But because of everything that is happening in the world we stopped playing together (also I think they lost interest in it unfortunately). Then, I recently thought of trying to role play in MMOs which after watching that there is a way to RP in GTA I thought what if there was a way to RP in MMOs. And after researching from all the MMOs that might have RP available the only one that I thought that would be good and also that I haven't tried the game. So I decided to try it and right now I'm playing with a Trial account until level 60 (at writing this I'm Level 22) and I'm looking for an RP guild(?) I dont know if guilds are in this game or they're called FC? But I would like someone to introduce me in RP inside the game, and also to learn more about it because I have been trying to find a game that I can play for a while besides single player games and I liked to role play but unfortunately I haven't found any game or place to do it. My character name is Rael Nailo and I have a bit of a story that I want to do but I don't have a lot of background story or anything. The only thing that I have is that my character is looking for knowledge of the world and be a sort of historian (so I wanted to be Scholar) but everything can change in his travels (kind of me trying different classes and see which one I like the most). The race is Elezen from the clan Wildwood and follows the deity/guardian Thaliak that is the Scholar. I hope I can find somewhere that I can role play and join a good community. Thank you

I'm newish to FFXIV, and new to Eorzea, but not new to RP. I've been roleplaying for, oh goodness, too long. In MMOs and in MUDs, as well as tabletop. But I've yet to dip my toes into FFXIV RP (I only just learned how to /emote in this game last Friday). I am on Mateus, and my character's name is Kitra Ura, a Xaela who's arrived in the large cities from the mountain steppes on an errand from her Xaela tribe and now has a taste for the big city life. She wants to be a reporter for the Mythril Eye! They seem so smart and knowledgeable! (And cool!) Gosh, if Kitra could be a reporter, then she could ask people questions, get to know people. Maybe make some friends (and perhaps some enemies). While she's sort of a fish out of water (or a rock out of a hard place) outside of her Xaela homeland and her Ura tribe, Kitra is determined to make a go at things. She has a damn fine hat, and a decent pencil. I mean, it's only half broken. Anyway, say hi if you see me. I'm still leveling though, and pretty silly when I'm doing that, but I'm not shy. Hello again!

Hello, everyone! This seems like the place to introduce myself to the world, so here I am. I suppose I should start by introducing you all to my character, or at least what I've worked out about her so far. I'd be lying if I said I know a great deal about her just yet. What I do know is that her name is Talha Nbolo and she enjoys punching things. She's a bit rough, a bit sassy, and a bit on the salty side, but I think she's got a good heart. Probably. She certainly seems interested in making money while she engages in her passion for hitting things. Beyond that, even I don't know much about her yet. She's a bit of a mystery to me right now and I'm still getting to know her. This is actually my first MMORPG, more or less. I dabbled with ESO some but never really engaged with the community. I'm still getting the hang of things and I'm pretty green, but I have a habit of roleplaying even when I'm playing a game alone. If I make a character, I like to work out where they came from, why they do the things I'm making them do, what they're thinking about, and what they want. So while the mindset isn't totally new to me, you fine people are my first real interaction with like-minded folks. So please bare with me if I'm still a bit clumsy with it all. While I can't say for sure how heavy my personal style of roleplaying is compared to others, what I can say based on my few in-game interactions so far, is that I usually try to remain in character and react to things as I think Talha would. I find that helps me get to know her a bit better. Anyway, sorry if this ran on for too long. I'm looking forward to getting to know the community. If you happen to see Talha running around Ul'dah, feel free to say hi!

Hi everybody! As the title says, I haven’t gotten started...as in, I haven’t yet even downloaded the game due to local internet issues. Rest assured, I began researching ARR about a month ago during my free time, and I’m slowly making the setting and lore a new hobby of mine. I’m slow when it comes to actively video gaming, however; I’m always more active on forums and Discord, so I’m not in a rush to do anything other than read interesting threads, ask questions, and learn from a group of cool people. MMORPG background Do MUDs count? I began playing Dragon’s Gate and Darkness Falls on AOL back in 1996, and although they were text-based, they were both multiplayer and online. For formal MMORPGs, then I began with the vanilla version of WoW since I’d been a fan of that whole franchise since 1995. It was fun, but my maturity level eventually grew beyond the story and community there. I’ve also played SWtoR, Fallout ‘76, and ESO for a few years, though intermittently. RP experience Face-to-face, I’ve been playing DnD since 1995. Online, I started with AOL chat rooms back in 1996, both in Final Fantasy settings as well as others. This also included forum RP and collaborative fanfiction, and it spread into both MMOs as well as other games I was playing at the time. One thing I’ve learned after a quarter of a century of RP is that you never stop learning, everybody has something to share, and even new RPers can often school me on nuances and habits which I hadn’t noticed. The challenges never stop which is part of what has made RP remain fun for me all this time. Character ideas/info I’m keen to play a non-edgy Dark Knight because I love challenges, taking traditional roles in new directions, and filling in social gaps. I’ve had other ideas float through my mind as well; I often enjoy playing antagonists in RP and honestly relish in playing them as mean jerks and then watching their defeat, though I need to become more comfortable in the FFXIV setting to do that. I’m not in a hurry and hope to have a lot of fun along the way. How did you learn about the coalition? While researching FFXIV and deciding this might be the game for me, I saw this forum referenced on Reddit, Quora, and...StackExchange, I think? RP guides for those new to the setting all mentioned this forum, and after lurking for a while, I can see why. This seems like a very helpful community. What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? (e.g. Light, medium, or heavy) Since I’m taking my time and learning the lore one step at a time, I plan to progress from light to medium to heavy once I download the game. As for RP here on the forum or any other text-based venue, then I expect this question may not apply since the sole purpose would be storytelling. Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc.) I’m in my mid-to-late thirties, the son of gamers, and now the father of little gamers of my own. I have the sort of responsibilities one could imagine, which is why I tend to lean toward forum and chat RP more than in-game RP for all the various fandoms I follow.

Hey there! I'm new to RPing on FFXIV I found this site through a Reddit post and decided to create an account to meet like-minded people. I have RPed outside of FF like in DnD so I am familiar with some concepts but am eager to learn more. I come from Australia but I play on Leviathan because I have friends there however they are not the RP type which is why I have been looking to make more friends in general in the community. The Display Name I use here is that of my character Efleion Berrendow, which is actually a name I use many places. It is a name I came up with for DnD one time and has stuck as my common name for characters because I doubt anyone else would be using it. My Character is an Elezen and the job I play as of right now is Dragoon as I am still fairly new to the game and it's just what I took as my starting job. I've always been keen on RP things in general, I've known people in WOW who RP things as simple as going on a beach picnic with friends all the way to long campaigns and honestly it all sounds awesome. I hope to be heavily RP outside of my raiding FC and would love to try and stay permanently IC in-game if I can outside of doing PUB and my FC content. I'm willing to learn and experience pretty much everything the RPing holds within it and Hope to all talk more later on! -Efleion

Hello all! I found the RPC through a Reddit post describing how to get started role-playing in Final Fantasy XIV. I'm excited to have found this community as I've been interested in RPing for some time now. I have not RP'd anywhere before. I've been researching how to get into it, how to conduct myself, and how to get the best out of the experience. And, even though I'm shy with strangers at first (OOC, specifically), I know I have to jump right in to get started. First, a not-so-brief history of my MMO journey, starting with Final Fantasy XI. My primary job(s) were WHM and BLM. I would normally party up as BLM, leveraging WHM as a primary source of income selling teleports. My character was a female Tarutaru, and it would be the last time I ever played a TaruTaru-like character; I may be slightly prejudiced against Lalafels IC, I'm working on it. When I started playing WoW, I fell heavy into tanking and healing. I played a Priest on and off but stuck mostly to my male Blood Elf Paladin. WoW is where I last played a male character, finding that I was drawn more to female characters in MMOs and role-playing games in general (when given the option). I then spent a lot of time in RIFT, eventually finding a progression raiding guild where I would main and off-tank for my primary DKP, healing in whatever spare time I could find. Life had eventually lead me to TERA. In TERA, I primarily healed as the Mystic class was quite challenging which drew me in immediately. I lied, I played an Elin in TERA as one of my characters. However, I see Elin-type characters vastly different than TaruTaru/Lalafel types. Ask me why and I hope I can make it make sense to you. Fast forward through some terrible decisions like Conan, KOTOR, revisiting both WoW and RIFT, I eventually found FFXIV. Now, I originally played in Beta and don’t remember a thing about it. It wasn’t until a few years later when Heavensward was released that I returned to an all-new game. I had played on and off since then, most recently returning for what I hope to be the long-hull. I moved my way through Stormboold as a BLM which was fun but ended up reaching end-game content as a Paladin. Though I have zero role-playing experience, a specific series of events lead me here. Upon reaching Shadowbringers, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to experience the content as a new entity. I originally transformed my character into a Viera, though for reasons known only to me, I very quickly transformed back to a Miqo’te. It was this final transformation that I seemingly fell in love with my character. She’s perfect. I can’t put my finger on it, but everything about her is perfect to me. She inspired me to begin drawing; I have been drawing consistently for weeks now. She brings out a whole different side of me when I play. This then lead me to discover that I want to be her in the game and breathe life into her soul. I have recently re-named her to a more suitable moniker: M’crises Rahz. I have crafted a background for her and have noted her personality traits as well. I have even started recording her military history, though this part takes some time to get places and events just right. Once I have confidence in her overall being, I would be happy to share it with you all! If you’re still reading along with me at this point, I thank you. I don’t know how heavy I want to participate in RP yet, but I am looking for a Free Company that is welcoming and inviting of the lifestyle, judgment-free. Thank you for allowing me to say a little about myself and I hope to meet many of you as I move along in my journey! -Crises

MMORPG background I started to play MMO's in HS with EQ and Anarchy Online. I continued the past time through college I bounced between a few MMO's such as Starwars Galaxies, Matrix online and D&D Online. I even volunteered time for a community of Shout-casters where we ran a number of internet radio stations tailored to MMO's. We would often hold in game events and parties with in game... While I may not be new to MMO's and in game RP I am definitely rusty. After an extended Hiatus from MMO's I had an itch that needs to be scratched. RP experience My first exposure to proper RP in MMO was withing Matrix Online. I also got involved we a group in College were we played D&D 1.5 (LONG LIVE THE FROGS OF DOOM!!). About 2 years ago some old friends from my D&D Online days started to run D&D 5e on Roll 20. Out little group is slowly growing into a community where we are now running various games twice a week. We are currently running games for D&D, Dresden Files accelerated and Cuthulu online. Character ideas/info Kangus Skyblade Hyur Highland Adventurer who was trained by his uncle with use of a lance. I plan to work my way up to a Dragoon at this time but that is the extent of development at this time. I am still working on making my way through the lore before I start invest in writhing a background. How did you learn about the coalition? I was consulting the google for FFXIV Servers when i came across this community. What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? (e.g. Light, medium, or heavy) medium Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc.) I am a father of two, a bit of a work aholic, and wish there was more hours in the day to contribute to hobbies. I am also horrible with grammar\spelling so i typically RP a drunk or someone who is less educated to make up for it

HEY! my name is Leo and im completely new to ffxiv rp, thus the title. ive wanted to start rping ffxiv characters and in game for a while now, but after a recent breakup with a toxic partner, ive finally found time. Ive been roleplaying since i was a kid, and have always loved it. i have bunch of experience as a roleplayer, but not much particularly as a ffxiv roleplayer. i hope to get more experience and find new friends and groups along the way! My only current character is Chain Gates, whose carrd i already have finished writing, which can be found here: https://chainxiv.carrd.co/ im gonna make more characters soon, i plan to make an alt on a more populated server, as i play on Odin only right now. Said alt might be a hyur guy :] if you have any tips on how to go about making an alt and stuff, getting glamour for rp and unlocking content and such please lmk!! im probably aiming to be a medium type of roleplayer, as im not that interested in roleplay yet, but im still interested enough to be very passionate and get in character! my other hobbies outside the game include drawing and writing! i love to make characters and draw them in different situations. ive been drawing for about 8 years now, and am pretty experienced on said subject, as it is my special interest as well. i love also building character stories and personalities, as its fun for me to immerse myself in said things! thats all i think, idk what else to put on here... i hope to make some new friends and have fun roleplaying! thanks for reading!

Helloes there! Thanks for reading. So I just recently joined you all here on FF14 after so many RP friends raved about it! Thought I'd dip toes in the waters, so to speak, and begin my adventures in this beautiful land. A bit about me (I talk too much, but other than that), I've been RPing for a good many years already and perhaps even some of you would recognize the username "Tallaron" from other games - LotRO, AA, SWL, ESO, GW2, BDO, CE and the abbreviations carry on - and if you do, send me a message! I'm totally looking forward to making many, many new and awesome friends along the way. Well I'm certainly not new to RP, OMG, no, but I am new to FF14. This means that I'll definitely appreciate any help or guides for me to find the right niche. I'd be so grateful for pointers and assistance in getting my guys settled in the plots, schemes and acquaintances, fun activities and opportunities, bar chatter and explorations, dramatic relationships and rivalries, and certainly the story-building in the community. First and foremost I'm an RPer and that's why I dig MMOs so much (makes sense, right?), the gaming part just being a fantastic bonus. The problem is that I'm in the dreaded EU time zone (Oh no!) and I've always had a huge, ginormous, struggle to find folks to play with. Ugh. But anyway, I've said too much already and most of you are probably asleep by now... so I'll just leave you to send me scores of messages (did I mention I'm also a massive optimist?). Hope to hear from you guys soon!
