Name's Opar. A typical Lalafell Miner with a sense of adventure and thrall-like devotion to his lovely betrothed Omim Omi IC, her real life husband and general goofball OOC. I have been Role Playing in some form or fashion for my entire life. I started with tabletops and from there progressed into a game called Asheron's Call which I have fond memories of. I was also a huge fan of Final Fantasy in my youth especially in my teen years when VII and VIII came out, and I am to this day a shameless Red XIII fanatic. I played FFXIV back when Stormblood had just dropped and enjoyed the game a lot, and canceled our subscriptions due to health issues on my end, but now that I am recovered and we are in a better place, we have returned. *sad trombone riff* (ha) We are excited to meet new friends, and I hope to forge some new IC bonds as well. To that end, I'm not sure if this is not allowed here, and if it isn't, I will edit this out with no complaints, but Omim and I are having our Eternal Bonding Ceremony on the 28th of this month at 2:00 P.M. PST, and are extending an invitation to you all. Simply send either Opar Mopar or Omim Omi (Both on Diabolos) a tell. Nice to meet you and hope to see you there.

We are a super-duper-small Cross-World Linkshell for People Who Should Be Adulting, and are opening our Cross-World Linkshell to other people in that stage of life too. We're Gen Xers or older Millenials - if you're old enough to miss gaming all day/night but have WAY too many IRL responsibilities to do so anymore, come play with us, and bring your favorite mix tape!! We juggle kids, jobs, houses, responsibilities, etc but still like gaming when we can where we can. Ages 25+ irl. No politics, discrimination, or drama - gaming is our *escape* from all that, pleases respect that and keep it family friendly and fun. We don't host weekly/scheduled events atm, though you're welcome to host one! We'd be thrilled to make more friends and have More Game Stuff to Do, but my co-founder just started a new job and I have a 3 year old who always comes before gaming, so we haven't structured too many formal events for now until those things settle down more. For now, we keep most things ad hoc and when people are in the mood and have the time and energy to devote to it. We know that's a LOT different from how most organized groups operate, but it's what fits into our lives right now and we're hoping there are Others Like Us out there. Surely we're not the only ones who love playing but have other time commitments and responsibilities too, right? Right! All of us come from a long RP background (longer than I expect many players are old), and we're always happy to roleplay or goof off. We can do serious, but our style tends to be a little more pulp than dark - think of the atmosphere of shows like Firefly, the Mummy, or Farscape - sometimes serious, sometimes silly, but generally meaning well. We're big damn heroes, yo - the world is too ugly right now for us to want to RP or hang out with bad guys, too. We have a FC house for RP events, otherwise are around many evenings bopping our way through Mooglestones, casual content, leveling, and chit-chatting. There is a Discord, but since it's fairly new to a lot of us we tend to be quiet and low volume (also hard to Discord chat all day while juggling kids and jobs, yaknow...) I. Basic Info Characters: Myst Lastleaf, Assistant at Faewood FC Lyof Iryot, Viera Huntress and exile of the Wood Toului Himaa, Dancer and twin to Yisan Himaa Lelesha Lesha, money grubbing Lalafell. Mission specialist. Quasi NPC used to move people's stories forward Primary character: Myst Lastleaf Linkshells: Just Fc's atm Primary RP linkshell: N/A II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Light to Medium Views on RP combat and injuries: Depends on the situation. I am fine with combat as long as I can co-op with my rp partner. Injuries and attack abilities should fit the character's skills, limitations, and other factors. If I know my co-writer, I'll generally go with the flow. Otherwise, I prefer a /random 20 pass/fail system to leave successes and misses to fate. Views on IC romance: I like naturally developing romances for the characters. I do not pre-promise characters to a relationship, and there is always a chance the romantic effort will fail or be unrequited. I don't believe in rewriting character beliefs and concepts to 'fit' a pairing, or love at first sight. I also belief that a romance is affected by IC behavior- or lack thereof. If a lover says something hurtful to my character, they will react. Ghosting for weeks and suddenly come back= character is concerned about where yours went, and will act according to their personality and backstory to the reasoning. Ghosting for a month = The IC character abandoned mine, and my char will believe and act accordingly. Pet peeve: NO CROSSING THE IC/OOC BARRIER. Those who confess an IRL crush or act like we are 'together' ooc because our fictional characters have a romantic relationships will be given my character's 'out' and we will sever our rp partnership. Turning fiction into irl is not healthy for either of us! Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): LOVE! They lend extra depth to the character's background that is beyond my control. Which leads to great twists, turns, and character development. I generally only play family rp with people I trust to stick around, as it is *awful* to get ghosted by someone important to the character. I'm very open to childhood friends, clanmates, hunting partners, clan rivals, etc though. Views on lore: Lore is EXTREMELY important. It lends flavor, setting, and boundaries to shape character perceptions, limits, belief systems, behaviors, and more. More importantly, it gives us a standard to help us predict how characters might react to certain creatures, characters, and circumstances. For example: Tempering up until now was essentially incurable and practically a death sentence. Someone playing a tempered character should expect that anyone unaware of the recent developments in MSQ will be distrustful and potentially try to 'put them out of their misery.' On that note, I don't mind lore bending as long as it is 'lore probable.' If it gets into lore breaky territory, we'll briefly pause, try to come up with a reasonable solution, or gently recon as best we can. If it is totally unworkable, we'll quietly disengage and go about our respective days. I want everyone to enjoy their gameplay experience, so no hard feelings if that means we end up parting due to differences in lore-preferences. ^^ That said, my characters reflect the good, bad and ugly of lore. I do not pull punches on the lore-based perceptions and mis-conceptions the characters would have in this setting. They are not 100% perfect rays of sunshine, not are they a reflection of my own OOC attitudes and beliefs. If you are easily OOC upset and offended if a Miqo'te fiction character is a jerk to your woodwight because of the longstanding 'poacher' thing? Or you see red if lore actively prohibits something you wanna do with my chars? We're not a great fit, and that's okay! Just don't make it some big OOC drama. We can part ways without it turning into some sort of name-throwing, label making, reality tv drama. (I'm too old for that bleep.) Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I'm not a fan of using linkshells for more than ic and ooc communications. I like /s and /em for rp, whispers for ooc discussions or ic whisperings, and /p for private rps if its a scene we don't want random people to walk into. Such as a mission or an oocly time-constrained meeting. III. Looking to Recruit Hosts & Hostesses for a Host Club RP Event! Hello, there ~ ♪ I'm looking for like-minded RP people who would be interested in participating in a Host/Hostess Club RP event. The duties include carousing the house during the event to attend to guests, offering food, drinks, engaging conversation and attention. We have many positions available such as Receptionist, Dancer, Host/Hostess, and Bartender. As this is a Host Club, and ERP is an extension of this, we ask that you be 18 or older. Apply at your own Risk. We meet every Friday, @ 10:00pm EST. We reside on the Crystal Data Center, on The Malboro Server. We operate out of a Large Estate in The Lavender Beds in Gridania. We offer a wide variety of concessions that we serve at no cost to you, or the Guest. (Food & Drink will be provided to you, to hand out prior to opening.) We have an A la Carte menu as well, that you and the guests can reference at your convenience. You can view the menu among other things on our information web page here. I do NOT pay my staff; however, the guests do tip -- very well. What the staff makes in tips, is theirs to keep. The staff is not bound to their position. They can switch roles at any time. They're not contractually obligated to serve any sort of term. (You could be there for 2 hours, you could be there 30 minutes. Insomuch that I know in advance, we're all set.) ERP is a Feature of ours. Rates are determined individually, by each Host/Hostess and can vary based on experience and time respectively. These rates are not garnished -- what you make, is yours to keep. Consent is a very necessary and powerful element. ERP is both empowered and endorsed, but it is by no means required. Apologies if this is in the wrong place! IC there are a decent amount of listings; most of which are themed. I'm aware (and part of) one or two Discord channels, but am a little lost with the changes since HRPC's change to the new club systems: and am curious if there are any Linkshells besides that current and still standing that are centered around focusing on the community as a whole and encouraging connections between those currently and coming into it? If so.. where can we find it and get a hold of those running it? If not; as one of two leads for our free company, currently looking for that and new members..? I'd like to start one or two, promoting current events and interaction between single players AND free companies on Balmung, with others interested in the same. With the doors for the re-opening tomorrow, looks like a good time to get re-organized?
