Blue Posted May 7, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 7, 2015 Inspired from this Buzzfeed video: What is YOUR character tired of hearing? I will start! Jet'a Vann is tired of hearing: Reply: Edit: Maybe I should've used "dress" instead of "wear". My bad, English is not my motherlanguage >_ Link to comment

Hammersmith Posted May 7, 2015 Share #5 Posted May 7, 2015 "Stop swearing." "Do you ever smile?" "Have you forgotten how to have fun?" "Please don't punch him." "Put that cigar out." "Put that pipe out." "Please don't light this place on fire. Again." "Shanking him is not the answer." "Neither is kicking them hard enough to make their testicles pop." "Hi geezer!" Link to comment
Chris Ganale Posted May 7, 2015 Share #6 Posted May 7, 2015 For Tahz: "Did you really lose that many fights? Are you sure you're not gay?" I'll post more as I think of them. Link to comment
Melkire Posted May 7, 2015 Share #7 Posted May 7, 2015 IC, any and all implications that Immortal Flames are law enforcement. IC and OoC, this gets my goat most frequently: "Masked turbans are for Brass Blades, not Immortal Flames." ... /stares at all the Immortal Flame NPCs all over Thanalan who wear colored variations of the Sipahi Turban Link to comment
Blue Posted May 7, 2015 Author Share #8 Posted May 7, 2015 Nice answers so far, though let us try and keep this light-hearted and IC. This is not a spin-off game of the "lore-bending / lore-griefing / OOC bleeding on lore" threads. I was just genuinely amused by the video and thought that maybe even our characters have things they hear way too often! Link to comment
Chris Ganale Posted May 7, 2015 Share #9 Posted May 7, 2015 Pfft, I'm not even getting into OOC stuff. That's too big a can of worms. For Chao: "Do you charge by the hour or is there a nightly rate?" /cuepunchtodick Link to comment
Michikyou Posted May 7, 2015 Share #10 Posted May 7, 2015 "Doman's don't have white hair." (usually this is replied to by: 'ts a good thing no one ever has heard of hair dye") "You have too many male friends." "Why aren't you in Mor Dhona?" Link to comment
Merai the Vixen Posted May 7, 2015 Share #11 Posted May 7, 2015 "Stop swearing." "Do you ever smile?" "Have you forgotten how to have fun?" "Please don't punch him." "Put that cigar out." "Put that pipe out." "Please don't light this place on fire. Again." "Shanking him is not the answer." "Neither is kicking them hard enough to make their testicles pop." "Hi geezer!" I need to meet this man. He sounds hella fun. Link to comment
Gegenji Posted May 7, 2015 Share #12 Posted May 7, 2015 "Don't worry about it." Chachan used to hear that ALL THE TIME. Someone would say something that was too risque or involving something potentially dangerous involving themselves or others... and would just use that as their answer whenever Chachan pressed for clarification. It doesn't happen so much anymore, but he does not like hearing it. 1 Link to comment

Erik Mynhier Posted May 7, 2015 Share #15 Posted May 7, 2015 "Ser Erik".... He isnt a Sworn anymore and the title bothers him. He prefers "Mister Mynhier" or "Captain" or even just Erik from people he knows. The military "Sir" is fine from his subordinates while on duty is fine too. Link to comment
Warren Castille Posted May 7, 2015 Share #16 Posted May 7, 2015 "Ser Erik".... He isnt a Sworn anymore and the title bothers him. He prefers "Mister Mynhier" or "Captain" or even just Erik from people he knows. The military "Sir" is fine from his subordinates while on duty is fine too. Nitpicking: Phonetically, "Ser" and "sir" aren't any different! Edit: There's also no functional difference in the terminology. Link to comment

"pleasesleepwithme" "Your brother is stupid." "You don't have to bear every burden alone, Faye! We're here for you!" "I'm looking for the leader of this company. ...oh. It's you?" "Matriarch! So-and-so did something wrong!" In summary, Faye is tired of people in general. 3 Link to comment

Nitpicking: Phonetically, "Ser" and "sir" aren't any different! Edit: There's also no functional difference in the terminology. It is a bit of a nitpick on my part I will admit. Its just that the in game phonetics seem to show npcs refering to knights and the like as "ser" and military members of the gcs as "sir", with a similar separation as found in GOT. Also to my dutch ear they sound different "sir" sounds like "sur" in english and "ser" sounds like "s-air". Sort of some lore in game I noticed and took into accout. I dont expect anyone to notice it as both sound rhe same to americans and are pronounced the same. Not sure if they do to an english ear/tongue. Link to comment
