Aya Posted May 29, 2015 Share #29 Posted May 29, 2015 I really wish we could do more to accessorize, honestly.. but that's rarely something players have control over in MMO's. Link to comment

Erik Mynhier Posted May 29, 2015 Author Share #31 Posted May 29, 2015 THERE MAY BE A COMMON THEME HERE Oh yes we need capes and hoods+armor. No one post that stupid "no capes" gif... I freaking hate that gif. Link to comment
Zyrusticae Posted May 29, 2015 Share #32 Posted May 29, 2015 Unfortunately, we're very unlikely to see much in the way of long capes and cloaks simply because the clipping is outrageous unless they use really expensive cloth physics or use some bizarre weighting to tie it to character movement (which always looks cheap IMO). A bit unfortunate that even in 2015 we still have.. literally no games with really credible clothing physics, but them's the technological breaks. Link to comment

Capes/back items are the only thing DCUO does right, and its a shame that pile of a game can do it and every other MMO says its impossible. Link to comment
Dogberry Posted May 29, 2015 Share #34 Posted May 29, 2015 I like armor. I've made some armor. I like running around in armor. I have favorite kinds of armor and for the most part they are represented in FFXIV, but I would like to see some lamellar armor. It looks great. And can be made of a wide variety of materials. I imagine if they ever make Samurai, it will include lamellar in the AF. At least, I hope. Mexican Style Hand Wraps - As a boxing and MMA fan, this is something I would love to see for Monks and Pugilists. The hand wrap is functional, and in my opinion just looks badass. I just got a pair to wear under my gloves for heavy bag training, and I love these things. 1 Link to comment
Ruran Posted May 29, 2015 Share #35 Posted May 29, 2015 Come on, SE. After putting in the Koenig and Ares sets from FFXI, you know you wanna. Link to comment
Erik Mynhier Posted May 29, 2015 Author Share #36 Posted May 29, 2015 I forgot this. In the trailer it looks like a "Cloak" item, he wears it with the hood down and up (/visor?). When up there is a mouth cover.... oh gods if you could dye it too I would soil myself. Link to comment

We've got these, I'm happy to say, or at least, we've got something similar. And they're dyeable! ^^ http://xivdb.com/?recipe/30882/Arachne-Field-Dressing-of-Striking http://xivdb.com/?item/9487/Arachne-Field-Dressing-of-Scouting Now if only I could harvest enough silks from T4. Asmodean Posted May 31, 2015 Share #45 Posted May 31, 2015 The first would be my go to non-amrored outfit but I know it's a pipe dream due to cloak. The other on I would make a Highlander just to use. Link to comment
Maril Posted May 31, 2015 Share #46 Posted May 31, 2015 I want the hempen camise for female midlanders, but for my Highlander female. Without losing the bonda- I mean. The current look of said top. Link to comment

This goes back to 2010: OdbYsHbGYmU Give it... another 5 years, maybe? Hopefully in FFXVII Online, there'll be a resource-friendly implementation. A~~~nd keeping it on track... Would love to see some light 'armour' looks for the caster classes. I think someone above linked some Dragon Age Inquisition pictures. That sort of thing, to make the squishiest of them all at least -look- a little less squishy. Also, some more options for looking mean. Two great examples I can think of come from a single Skyrim mod, pictures below. On the whole, quite pleased with the armour variety on offer in XIV, but I'm always happy to see more options open up. Especially heavier ones :3 Although perhaps some armour that's less... 'clean'. Still heavy, still effective, but going in the total opposite of, say, the Garlean styling. The Warrior class armour is kinda heading in that direction already, which is nice. Examples? Incoming. Ultimately, more armour. I do so love my armour, and want more of it! Link to comment
Ryanti Posted June 1, 2015 Share #48 Posted June 1, 2015 Is it just me, or was the clothing physics in 1.0 better than now? I remember a lot of outfits that had loose stuff on them shaking and flailing around when you ran, but not anymore. Link to comment
Asmodean Posted June 1, 2015 Share #49 Posted June 1, 2015 Is it just me, or was the clothing physics in 1.0 better than now? I remember a lot of outfits that had loose stuff on them shaking and flailing around when you ran, but not anymore. I think part of the problem was how much work when into things like clothing physics which made run 1.0 on max setting hard and next to impossible for ps3. I remember reading something like how a potted plant in 1.0 had close to 1k worth of polygon. NO idea on what the count now is but it a plant, I don't need that level a detail on a plant. Here I found the link: http://www.siliconera.com/2014/03/19/focus-graphics-killed-final-fantasy-xiv-heres-square-enix-revived/ I wish the clothing physics wore better myself but never at the cost of the core game, which seem to be why something in 2.0 and onward are worse then they wore back in 1.0 to 1.23.
