Is it just me, or was the clothing physics in 1.0 better than now?

 

I remember a lot of outfits that had loose stuff on them shaking and flailing around when you ran, but not anymore.

 

Yep. They had to cut quite a few things graphically to make the game more accessible. While I'm glad more people are playing now, I get a little sad when I look at old screenshots and there's so much more detail there.

I would love more dresses and non-combat clothes in general.  I think the fact that we saw a bunch of these added in the Gold Saucer update means we can look forward to more in HW, but I'm not going to jinx it.

Also, more shorts!  I absolutely love how the Leatherworker Trousers look but they're class-restricted!  I just want a nice summery outfit.

I always wanted something more "tribal" Before reading up on Ala Mhigo, i always thought that they're more of a tribal folk that lived in very sunny/ hot areas because most Ala Mhigans I saw were tanned and blond.

 

In fact they almost reminded me of the Karayan clan of Suikoden:

 

 

Luckily there seems to be atleast 1 gear set in heavensward, but for DoW.

Just something that would constitute formal attire better than, say, various iterations of the Wedding Dress in game. :lol:

 

I'd also love to see capes and scarves and such.    And different kinds of shoes.  Most of the ones in-game are really clunky.

i have somewhat simple request....

more open neck tops to show off necklaces

more skirts and shorts WITHOUT leggings >.>

the ability to maybe wear two head items at once (maybe nerf it so the 2nd item stats are ignored. i just want hats and sunglasses at once)

 

and on a more "crazy" request

cross glamour gear. it already says what item is and what it's glamoured to look like, so i don't see why it would be 'confusing' to have a dow glamoured to look like a dom top or something. maybe not extend that to the class gear (the 55 gear from the class quests) but some of the other stuff would look really nice together can't be used because of this rule .---.

I'm guessing the reason they don't have loose-fitting neckwear is because of the limitation on the clothing physics.

Yeah. We're in dire need of more necklaces and rings that look a lot more appealing. I wouldn't be opposed to cosmetic stuff like watches instead of bracelets as well.

Not the biggest fan of winged helmets, but the simple tabard chest is something i've wanted for a long time, I think it would be a great formal set, if they could just add some kind of "ceremonial" weapons (Like a spear with a Grand company flag on the end)

Capes! I mean, really just anything with capes. When I look at my Paladin, I can't help but to think that he'd look 100% cooler with a cape flapping in the breeze behind him.

I would really love for all of my WHM and healer robes that have a hood to...Actually have a hood. Being able to flip it up and back down would be really nice. We have /visor, I want /hood. : (

Yea right now my highest desire is a /hood emote honestly. Don't gotta stop taking up the head slot, just let me pop that hood down when I'm hanging out in town with friends.

 

As for actual outfits I'm with the OP wanting nearly anything from FF12, so many neat designs that, like everything else from 12, are absolutely ignored as if they never happened.

Along those lines, I would love more head items that had glasses involved somehow. Gogon wears glasses and there's a lot of interesting items (Darklight robe, for example) that I can't really have him wear IC because he would be missing his glasses. Or I have to keep implying he still has them on. Bonus points if it's like the SCH hat where you can /visor away the glasses if needed.

I think iconic character sets would be awesome. We need MOAR fanservice! Like Terra's outfit! Or Red Mage's! And Onion Knight's! A personal favorite of mine is the Man in Black from Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, despite its simplicity.

I'd like to see more Japanese inspired gear, like a full kimono instead of just a short yukata.  I'd also like to see some samurai armor (and the job to go with it.  Seriously, we have ninjas, so why not samurai?).  I'd also like to see some like this for my ninja.

I know I can glamour the outfit with the right parts, but I'd like to see actual armor with more variations than just a standard dark ninja outfit.
