Pls put a shirt on

Recommended Posts

However, please don't make the statement that this sort of outfit is something someone would wear in the desert.  It's the opposite of what someone would wear in the desert because all that outfit offers is dehydration and skin cancer.  :(

If you're going for actual desert wear that offers more than dehydration and skin cancer (and perhaps even protects you from those things!), you're gonna want long, flowing, loose and light-colored clothing.  And you want to keep your head and the back of your neck covered as much as possible.

Then someone needs to tell those Drake Hunters in the Sagolii Desert to put on some clothes. :dazed:

I really want to.  :|

But, I'm 99% sure that the whole thing with the desert Miqo'te is the fantasy of what "desert neko" would look like.  People who don't live in a desert (or haven't been to arid areas) think, "Well, man, it's hot, so we should wear less clothes!"  When, in reality, that works better in a jungle than in a desert.  :)

There's no logical argument for not wearing a shirt in a desert. If you don't get that, spend seriously five minutes looking into it. It's not even something that needs to be debated. Simple science isn't really subject to opinions.

But at the same time, it is a fantasy game and everyone wants to be as SexXxy69 as possible for some reason. Which, I find strange, but that's just me. Some people are into that. So wear what you want. It won't break my immersion, but I will ask you IC why you want to die of heat stroke in the desert and you'll have to find an answer for it.

I'm more shocked by the fact that this conversation warranted 127 posts of "I can take off my shirt if I want to" and "They wear shirts in Saudi Arabia. EXPLAIN THAT."

But I'm a part of it now, so it can't be helped.

(I'd love to see many more people in swimwear around Costa del Sol, it's nowhere as crowded as the FFVII Costa del Sol was!)

Likewise.  It'd be nice to make it an RP hot-spot, but there's less of a reason for people to wind up there IC because it's not really near a major urban center the way The Quicksand is.  Everyone would need a justification for going there.

Maybe once we get some new summer clothes people will be wanting to show off their beach bodies somewhere else than the Quicksand.

We get plenty of people showing up in swimwear at the Sunny Seaside Bar. ;)

Oh look, there's Brave. Why am I not surprised?

To sum up exactly why us Highlanders are constantly shirtless.

*dies* LMFAO! (Literally! lol)

This thread, man....

But I have Highlanders. And I have a Mi'qote for craps and giggles when I don't want to feel like I need to grind for tomes, or atma, etc. And she is the Supreme Sassmaster. She had to be because she kept getting hit on. And I don't mean flirted with, nothing wrong with flirting.

But Eorla? I've gotta keep her heavy coat on, even in Ul'dah, because if she wears what she wants to wear, everyone's got something to say. From the people who know her, it's "Um, wtf you doin', Yor?" and from the people who don't know her it's "Hey bby let's make our own beast quest".

Renata just wears the riviera dress in general and saves the short skirt and hempen camise for Percival's eyes only. But Eorla has no riviera dress. :( Not yet anyways.

Well.

They enjoy the comforts of not being dehydrated, burned, and/or dying of cancer.

'k so you should probably go to Japan and explain that to the devs. Not because they allow us to do that but because their own NPCs do not follow this rule.

I really do think it goes back to the fantasy of what people would wear in the desert.

Either that, or the desert isn't really a desert.  Considering all the rain it gets, I'm inclined ot think that we're all just hallucinating the arid conditions.

You know I was merely trying to point out mediocre Highlander males with the whole shirtless thing right

Look, all I'm saying is that I'm not okay with you discouraging my man cand- I mean, male characters from running around shirtless.

Unless they're Lalafell.  Then it's okay.
