I would be like... 'why would I be? You know it's gonna be hard to get in, and have all sorts of problems. I'll be excited when it's actually playable and stable.' I had plenty of other things planned/lined up this weekend, and wasn't counting on playing FFXIV at all. Tried for about 20 mins to log in, then moved on to other things for the night Link to comment

(was washing dishes and sweeping the kitchen floor), then I happened to glance over and see that I was logged in. Get up and walk away, imo. edit - also, a few people on the main forums were claiming that for some people there was a DNS issue that shutting off modem + router and doing and ipconfig flush could fix (additionally, turning off avast/antivirus stuff until you get logged in), that something wasn't getting refreshed properly. I don't know enough to know if that's a possibility, but I figured what the hell and unplugged modem/router and did the flush. After that I could switch servers, whereas before I could not. Coincidence? Maybe. But hey, if all else you're doing is logging back in and getting kicked out, it could keep you entertained for a few minutes. Link to comment

Still others were talking about ...i'll just quote it Unable to connect to Aether datacenter. Did a tracert a few times from my IP to the US datacenter, and it looks like the packets are getting hung up in the Level3 center in Montreal (surprise!) with anywhere from 300- to 1500- ms. latency. It's been almost two years, and yet Square still cannot fix this issue. So maybe that's it for you? Link to comment

I am 25 ping from the server at worse times. and I'm getting these errors. * * * After the last game I worked on had stupid launch issues like this, I kinda feel a bit smug that it's happening to me on a consumer level. The majority of people are saying it's a server thing, and thus squarely Square Enix's fault. ...but, you know, hope and all that. edit - ...and just learned that I am now allergic to nectarines. In this case it's S-E's fault for sure, but it's not something I'd put on QA's end, but rather on the planning levels dev side. No amount of QA can prepare for anything related to online. Kailia Posted June 20, 2015 Share #264 Posted June 20, 2015 So I got lucky. When the entire server 90k'ed I quickly loaded my benchmarch char into char creation and lo and behold Balmung was opened! I got my alt Now the only thing frustrating is error 2002 and the "You are 91 in queue" and refreshes that same number for 30 mins or more till it finally loads in. Link to comment
