Askier Posted September 16, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 16, 2015 Hey. Was just chatting with my FC last night and realized Eorzea, least the rp part of it, seems to be inhabited by many, many young people. But, where are all the older characters to pass own their wisdom and yell at the young to get off their lawns? Thought it be fun to post characters age here and make a sort of census for ages. So, for me, Ki is Mid-Thirties. Yours? Link to comment
Virella Posted September 16, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 16, 2015 Vi is 28. However Ave is 42! Want her to be a proper Ala Mhigan/Fist of Rhalgr, so had to crank up her age. Not that I mind though, I enjoy roleplaying older characters often more than younger ones. Link to comment
Melodia Posted September 16, 2015 Share #3 Posted September 16, 2015 Melodia's a young'n. She's just 22...still learning the ropes of life. Link to comment
Gegenji Posted September 16, 2015 Share #4 Posted September 16, 2015 My three characters are across the spectrum! Chachan is mid-to-late teens (I've been saying 16 just to peg a number to it), his brother is in his early thirties, and Judge is a grandpa in the Over 60 bracket. Link to comment
Shizuno Posted September 16, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 16, 2015 Rin is 28, so still pretty middle of the road I suppose? Link to comment
Duplicitous Dame Posted September 16, 2015 Share #6 Posted September 16, 2015 Nahare is 25 years old. She'll be 26 this December, actually. My alt, Lucien, is 30 years old. Usually I prefer my characters to have a sort of middle ground when it comes to age, although I *have* roleplayed teenagers before. I guess it also mostly depends on what kind of personality type I'm trying for and then pairing the age with it so the maturity level makes sense (then again maturity and age doesn't always go hand-in-hand, but you know what I mean). Caspar Posted September 16, 2015 Share #7 Posted September 16, 2015 19. Though IC it's unknown. I used to always play characters older than me. Now I'm playing characters who are younger... Hmm... Link to comment

Nirri Posted September 16, 2015 Share #10 Posted September 16, 2015 Aeron is twenty-six. Just felt right to make him that age. Link to comment
Ashe Posted September 16, 2015 Share #11 Posted September 16, 2015 Ashe is 28, Shar is 18, and Zeph is 24... I have another potential alt who is 26 but he doesn't fully exist yet 'cause still deciding what to do with him.... Link to comment
Dravus Posted September 16, 2015 Share #12 Posted September 16, 2015 Graeham's nineteen. After playing a blood elf back in WoW who was essentially middle aged I wanted to play a younger, less seasoned character this time around. He tends to act older than he actually is though - but I suppose that comes with the territory when portraying a diplomat... Link to comment
Unnamed Mercenary Posted September 16, 2015 Share #13 Posted September 16, 2015 Franz falls into a mystery 35-45 range. ICly, he has no idea. OOCly, it depends on if we ever get more details of Garlean activities and culture. Assuming certain things like the fall of Ala Mhigo, I normally treat him as probably late 30s or early 40s. A single tear is shed every time someone calls him an old man. Link to comment
Brynhilde Posted September 16, 2015 Share #14 Posted September 16, 2015 Bryn will be 41 in January. Link to comment
Aya Posted September 16, 2015 Share #15 Posted September 16, 2015 Huh...? Wha...? *wide blinking blue eye* Link to comment
Berrod Armstrong Posted September 16, 2015 Share #16 Posted September 16, 2015 Berrod is a comfortable Time-Bubble twenty-three. Link to comment
Spethah Posted September 16, 2015 Share #17 Posted September 16, 2015 Bryn will be 41 in January. Her scowling makes her appear younger than she actually is. I heard it's an old Mhigan technique to look youthful. My characters range between 25-30, with the exception of one which is just questionable on age. Link to comment
cuideag Posted September 16, 2015 Share #18 Posted September 16, 2015 I'm really bad at keeping track of character timelines and dates and whatnot so I picked 36 or whatever when I rolled her mostly to have a number to run with. Basically she tells people she's late 30s but she could just as easily be in her early 40s as well. Link to comment
Aaron Posted September 16, 2015 Share #19 Posted September 16, 2015 Aarons 23 That's funny A-A-ron You add 2+3 you get Aaron's mental maturity. Xp :roll: You hush! Link to comment
chaoticsleepy Posted September 16, 2015 Share #20 Posted September 16, 2015 Xheja weighs in at around 33, though for a while she was physically stuck around her mid-twenties. But it's something that she's very self-conscious about, and if asked? Would definitely lie about it. Jaliqai is sliiightly older than that at around 34, give or take. I wanted her to have been a young adult when she lost her tribe, and to have plenty of time since then to have wandered across Othard and then eventually relocate to Eorzea with the rest of the mass exodus. So early-to-mid thirties, it was. Link to comment
allgivenover Posted September 16, 2015 Share #21 Posted September 16, 2015 In my head-canon adventuring is a young persons game. Young people tend to not have as many responsibilities or obligations that tie them down, also in your late teens to mid twenties you are likely going to be healthier and more able than at any other point in your life. Not to say an older adventurer is unbelievable of course. Link to comment
Gabineaux Posted September 16, 2015 Share #22 Posted September 16, 2015 My character's in the 40-45 category. Then again, he doesn't adventure much. He's a crippled old man who sits around in his house smoking moko. Link to comment

Oli! Posted September 16, 2015 Share #24 Posted September 16, 2015 Ada's 18. Oli's in the comparatively Old-Man category of 42. Link to comment
Caspar Posted September 16, 2015 Share #25 Posted September 16, 2015 A lot less "really 600 years old lala sorcerers" than i thought. Link to comment
